Easy perfect turkey
highfunctioningfatman replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in Food and Nutrition
My wife says that it is because of my highly developed skills that has come from many hours of practice on her! You mean you rub oil on her and tie her legs together too? Actually, yes! A motel room, massage oil, drapery cord (it's soft) and a tarp makes for a great time! -
How long before the "honeymoon" is over?
highfunctioningfatman replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
At your current weight you are in the "normal" bmi range (according to your stats on the left). The goal of 178 is still an obese 27.9. If I can get lower that would be awesome but to be built like my cousin would make me quite happy. -
5-7 minutes between bites? Is it true?
highfunctioningfatman replied to macon_me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope. What is true is that you will have to take it slow and chew completely. -

That is the beauty of the Orion, you don't have to use the wood and it will still cook beautifully. -
How long before the "honeymoon" is over?
highfunctioningfatman replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow! Amazing! With me being heavy all of my life is is such an unreal concept to lose even the weight that I have so the thought of trying for a goal of 134 pounds in 11 months seems completely insane! -

Obsessive dynamic with food...
highfunctioningfatman replied to cassandramarie93's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I had to increase my calories because I was too low too. I was 450-550 calories a day. I changed up my diet to have bacon or sausage for breakfast and the higher calorie meal first thing really helped my energy. I also set an alarm on my phone for 4pm daily to have a snack. My snack is usually 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and a tbsp of sugar free jam. I feel much better and I'm still losing at a steady rate. -
Almost 3 months out and loving my sleeve
highfunctioningfatman replied to Monet08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nice work! I noticed your comment about fatty food. I've been doing low carb and low sugar. It seems to be working well. I actually needed to increase my calories and I started doing that with bacon or sausage for breakfast and I'm losing at a steady rate. What I'm saying is that you may not have to fear protein based fats. -
How long before the "honeymoon" is over?

Thanks Babbs! I had my cousin here and he is the size that I would like to be. He is 5'7" and 178 pounds. He is currently wearing 32x30 pants and a medium to large shirt depending on the manufacturer. I am also wearing 32x30 pants and I want to be on a large shirt. Obviously I will have excess skin is I won't look as good as he does but it did get me thinking. I don't know if it is possible but it would be awesome to get to that point by my birthday which is in the end of July but that would be losing 134 pounds in 11 months which sounds insane! Don't get me wrong, I will work like crazy to get there but I'm trying to figure out if that is an unrealistic goal because I would have to average 1.9 pounds per week over the next 33 weeks. -
Finally able to eat my favorite food!

The only thing that I wonder about is will I be able to have a high quality root beer when I go camping or bbq. This will wait until the maintenance phase. -

Cheated on Pre-Op Diet
highfunctioningfatman replied to Frenchie1977's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My family still hasn't figured this out. I promise not to tell them, but I'm crushed if Monopoly "bankers" really cheat. Honest, I never had a clue. Oh, oh, oh, no, no, no, do people cheat at "Clue?" Waa-a-a-a-a-a-h! This really hurts. "Uno" we do! -

I've been skipping "leg day" because of my boney ass. I usually ride an exercise bike for my legs. I'm quite happy with my legs so I've been doing a lot of ab and arm exercises instead for the last few weeks. This way too fancy bike has all kinds of settings and after screwing with it I said to heck with it and just started pedaling. Was super easy until it wasn't. It just kept increasing resistance and stupid me, I just kept going. My knees really starting hurting but I was going to push through the pain. I finally stopped when I pulled a muscle on the back of my thigh. Stupid me! I slept like crap (or maybe carp) and limped most of the morning.

As far as sauces go, I love Arizona Gunslinger Habanero sauce, Beaver sweet hot mustard, most Verde sauce, wasabi and soy. Hmmm I see a pattern here! -

Recipe ideas to make meat flavorful
highfunctioningfatman replied to Dunerider's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Spices! Experiment with them and see what you like. Also don't cook to well done! Cooking meat to safe temperatures and letting it stand for at least 15 minutes before you cut into it will produce a flavorful, moist piece of meat.
