What a cruel guy. Everything he said was out of line. Keep your chin up, if your really sure that the surgery is the answer for you then just do it. You'll find lots of support here at LBT. Roberta

You are a cruel man Keller john. You know I have no math skills. LOL Either way I'm jealous, especially with my surgery date pushed back to April 24th. I am so glad that you are seeing some results already. That's what we pre-banders need to hear.
-

I could just cry......my doctor's office just called, they have to reschedule me .My doctor will be on vacation, so I can't have my surgery until April 24th. I know, it's only a week later but I was a week closer to my goal. Bummer imt33167 sorry about your reschedule to May. I feel like we're in a black hole and every time we get to the edge to escape it pulls us right back in......too much Star Trek huh???

What kind of protein dink is everyone drinking?
Ceparano replied to willybe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Where did you purchase this one from? -
Check with your surgeon and find out if it's alright to crush them. You should be able to purchase an inexpensive pill cutter/crusher. I purchased one so that I can take my high blood pressure medicine which is kind of big. I don't want to take the chance of it getting stuck.

2500.00 dollars will buy some nice clothes. I'd wait it out.

What is Cambridge? the name of a company that puts out a protein powder, or is it a type of protein powder? Where can I get it? I live in the Northeast. Thanks Roberta -
I'm pre-op for the band so I don't know if my info is helpful. I suffer with reflux and take Nexium. When I was admitted for my asthma in January the steroids increased my reflux and nothing helped until they put me on the Protonix. I think it's better than the others. I don't know the cost. I hope this helped.
-
I'm also pre-op for the band. I choose it because it was minimally invasive, and no malabsorbtion issues. Yes the weight comes off slowly, but even a 2# loss is more than I have right now without the band and gaining weight everyday. So I'll take the 2 or 4# loss per month and be thankful. If it's more than that I'll even do the happy dance for ya!!! Like everyone else here suggests, do your research and make sure it's YOUR decision. Don't let anyone pressure you in either direction. Just make sure that whichever one you chose, that you make sure that you are committed to make it work for you. I wish you the best in your search.

Hi John, I remember your post after your surgery. How are things going now that your 9 days out? Roberta
-
Nope, everything will be open here.
-
Have you picked up all your post- surgical needs? Gas X Liquid Tylenol SF Popsicles SF Applesauce Heating Pad Protein Shakes Chewable Vit. Chewable calcium Benefiber SF Jello Broth Scar removal gel Sports Bra ( underwire hurts after surgery) I have a big bag that I've filled with the above essentials so that I don't have to run around doing this after I get out of the hospital. Also request your Rx for your pain medication BEFORE surgery so that you don't have to stop on the way home from the hospital to pick that up. Pre- op testing is next week for me......I'm getting scared:paranoid You'll be in our prayers. I've waited 6 months for this, and now I can't believe the moment is almost here.

Slim fast optima has a couple of flavors that are good. Cappuccino Delight, and Tropical. Both have 10 protein. I just purchased Slim Fast High Protein Extra Creamy chocolate that has 15 protein. I haven't tried this one yet. I stocked up so that I would not have any excuses when I get banded next month. Vitamin shoppe carries a whey protein by Body Tech that is very good in Vanilla. Very tasty if you add frozen bananas or strawberries. It has 17 proteins. Roberta -
Warning: this is a really long post. Read if you dare, but please read & Post replies

unrequited love, it's the pits. We've all been there. But we all must move on. Just keep remembering the hurt he caused you and not romanticize what life was like with him. The passage of time can color the way we remember things. Maybe those times were not as good as you think you remember them. As for the cookies, they are a minor bump in the road. Tomorrow is another day, and you will get back on tract. There is just so much going on in your life right now that everything seems to be negative. But everything isn't negative. You have a husband that loves you and your son and wants to provide for you. Continue to plan for your move to Fla. it will give you something positive to look forward to, and by the first of the year you'll be that much closer to being out of debt. Cut your ties with your cuz. Some people are just "users" and there is nothing you can do to change that. Whatever you do, don't loan her anymore money!!!!! -
Congratulations!!!!!! Soon the gas and pain will be nothing more than a memory. Make sure you get plenty of rest and give your body time to heal. I hope to join you April 17th. Roberta

I'm going to be banded April 17th. My doctor allows bringing right up to the time you eat. Then waiting 30 min. after eating to drink. I'm already applying this so that it will be second nature for me later. That's a lot easier than most of you who have to wait an hour or more. Roberta
-
You had us scared to death. So glad your all fixed up now. I'll remember the Hot Dog Caper for when I get Banded. I remembered Kathy's post on Aloe Vera juice and egg drop soup from months ago. I just got back from buying the juice today so that I'll have it ready to go for my April 17th surgery. Please continue to do well and take care of yourself. Roberta

Kabeerah, Is there any Medical Board available there that you can check out this surgeon, to see if he has had any major problems with his patients? I agree with you, after care is extremely important. You also don't want to be a guinea pig for anyone just starting out no matter how close a friend they are to you. I hope everything works out for you. Roberta
-
John, congratulations. I'm glad everything went smoothly with your surgery. I've heard that the gas can be a real killer. The hospital I'm going to has their Bariatric Unit set up to have all patients walk EVERY TWO HOURS. That is around the clock! So I am sure that will help with the gas issue, but I'm sure that after being discharged I'll be so tired I'll sleep for days. LOL. Did you have to do the pre-op diet? I don't, I was wondering if that has anything to do with you not being hungry. I am impatiently awaiting my April 17th surgery date. Roberta

Wow, I had a Gastroendoscopy and they put me out totally. I didn't wake up until I was in recovery. Nanahana: I hope things work out for you. Don't give up. Keep trying for the surgery you REALLY want, don't settle unless you have to. Roberta
