so i know the mental hunger thing is a battle many of us have to face but does anybody else struggle knowing where the line is between the real and unreal hunger ?!? i am always hungry and always have hunger growls and i miss the small stomach sensation in the beginning
i miss those first few months
i had surgery on may 10th, since then i lost about 90+ lbs but my stomach seems to be able to fit double what it was a few months ago, and i've been stuck on the same weight for 2 months
lastly, my cpap was for a while, filling me up with air despite lowering the settings, and i wonder if this affects my surgery in any way? i would wake up with intense gas pain like when we got surgery that first day
i don't know from day to day if i'm ok and it makes me so depressed and paranoid
bleh... anyone feeling this way?

I have not asked about this with my surgeon, though i do plan to, but i would like to throw this out to you all
Has anybody experienced upper and lower back pain after losing the first 20-50 lbs?
Does anybody have an educated explanation for it, if it is something to do with weight loss?
Any info would be awesome
for the sake of the convo, i started at 330, and im now 250, but i noticed the pain after the first 20 or so lbs.
thanks

I'm 3 months post op. I hit a plateau although I've changed nothing
I feel thinner but I'm losing less than a pound every 1-2 weeks
I feel hungry pretty often and it feels as if I'm able to eat more than the past month or so
I don't often feel like a Bariatric patient and more like a person who just eats a little less
I'm not sure how I should feel
how about you 3 monthers?

heres a new one (for me at least)
my sutures healed up quite nicely, and there was absolutely no discomfort or pain at all. Then tonight, i felt one of my suture scars felt tender and as if it was a fresh wound. Its still sealed shut, but it was aching in pain and felt as if it was pulling inward. ?!?!?! Terrified now about going to work in the morning.
I mean what the hell?! Is this scar tissue forming inside or something? How do you guys fix this?
thanks

indeed it was dehydration. I hit the electrolyte Water, and some diet gatorade, as well as pedialyte and that did the trick. drinking way more water now. thanks everyone

I'm eating things like chicken salad and eggs etc
One thing I did think about ...
I'm detoxing tramadol which I was using to treat tendonitis while getting through the surgery month
Wonder if detoxing pain meds has anything to do with it?!

No coffee just 5 hour energy (a few sips a day) or tea with caffeine
I avoid coffee because of acidity
And still take 20g Pepcid twice a day
I am not sure I know what PPI is !?
Thanks y'all

One month out and finally onto solids.
About 3 days after returning to work I noticed that my appetite returned and every 2 hours I feel hungry and keep feeling an urge to eat.
I eat about 1/4-1/2 cup of food or purée and get filled (more solid the quicker) but I'm bummed that I'm constantly hungry, given that I got past mental hunger confusion around 2 weeks ago, and had no desire to eat just before returning to work
I should mention that no matter how much Fluid I drink I was still thirsty
I also returned to caffeine (not much, some)
Food amount ... The same , I just feel hungry despite drinking more fluid
Think it's the caffeine? The fact that my job has me walking and being super active ? I work in painting in a retirement home and walk constantly and for several minutes at a time throughout an 8 hour shift
I prefer no appetite. Dare I say I miss the first few weeks?!?

For a few days I was having issues where when I would swallow a sip of Water or anything I'd try to eat I'd get these really bad cramping stabbing pains also

Not sure if I have the same thing but lately I have had chest pain and it's connected to indigestion but it feels more like bruising pain
I also get the sensation like I am stretching something to hard and it's causing severe side stitches/cramping
I also noticed my urine is a dark orange color
No pain when I urinate
The surgeon and nurse said they think I should work on hot and cold temperature things and drink way more liquid
I'm worried and I feel awful (2 weeks tomorrow )

Hello gang this is my first post
I'm a week out from my gastric sleeve surgery
Whe I woke up from surgery, I felt completely normal. No nausea. Just gas pain
When the doctors tried me put on a tiny shot glass size cup of Water (the following afternoon) it went down with ease
I drank 2 of those an hour like nothing was wrong
When I started my week of liquid meals (broths, Protein blends etc) I could drink 10 ounces I one go. I feel hunger, cravings.
I can literally pour water or Decaf tea into a large drinking glass and slowly sip the whole thing
Why the heck is this too easy and why am I having more space?!?!?!?
I do know about mental hunger and I do know about swallowing slow and spacing it out it just seems like none of the rules apply because I feel little affect from surgery
Weight loss is consistently around a pound a day.
I just need some validation that It's normal and I shouldn't worry
You guys know how huge of a decision/effort this is... To feel like it's not working is so depressing
Thanks
