Does it always take 6 months to get a date?

This is what I'm hoping to do... we'll see! @@Qwalla Well poop! Lindora should count I would think, but that was only for 10 weeks. Maybe it would knock off some time though? Who knows.

Does it always take 6 months to get a date?

Well, I know I have some, my worry is that i don't have all. My friend said though that her "took her word for it?" Though I'm not sure if this is totally true since it took 6 months to get her date.
  6. I have not had surgery as of yet, nor do I even have a date, but I've pushed myself farther than I felt comfortable with (at the urging of others) and ended up hurting myself. Taking myself completely out of the game where I couldn't even WALK because of it. I think your Water aerobics sounds perfect. Have he seen what a swimmers body looks like? Are you kidding me? Laps are a perfect exercise. Don't listen to this guy. (are you too far in to go to someone else?)

I have contacted them, they require proof of 6 months of weight loss effort on my own in the last 2 years. I have done Lindora, Nutrasystem, and weight watchers in that time. I don't know if this will be sufficient or not?
  8. Thanks for the info Diana! Only one night? This is good news to me! I hate being in the hospital. She is watching them the day I go for my surgery, I'm not sure what to tell her the reason. I don't want to lie, so think I will tell her before then.
  9. Me! I haven't met with me surgeon yet, but after doing my research, I believe this is the option I'm most comfortable with.
  10. I'm at the very beginning of my journey, and only have an appointment with a surgeon so far.(June 1st) The only person I've talked to about it is my husband. He was surprisingly supportive. I'm not sure what I expected, I've just heard so many negative things over the years I thought he'd have the same response, but he didn't. I know I will need to tell my mom. I will need her help with my kids, but I'm not looking forward to the talk. Her sister had weightless surgery about 10 years ago (Gastric Bypass), and my mom was not very supportive at the time. Other than that, I feel like I will tell my siblings. My brother and my sister. Just because I tell them everything. I'm not sure how they will respond, but I feel like they will be supportive in the end. The thing I struggle most with is my kids. Do I tell them? Is it possible to NOT tell them? My worry is this: They have big mouths. They could tell everyone we know, and I'm not ready for that. I'm also not sure they'd really understand and it would cause them worry. Has anyone NOT told their kids? How did it go? What did you tell them you were doing?

    New to this...

I'm at the beginning as well. I haven't even had my consult yet!
  12. Hi Diana, Good point! Yes, there are some people I know who wont be supportive, and I think in those cases it's better not to tell at all. Such as my inlaws-- I will not tell them. I will not tell many friends, only ones I know will support me and not speak negatively about it. My mom on the other hand is a tough one. I will need her help. I have three kids, 11, 8, and 4, and I will likely leave them with her during surgery. How did your consultation go? Have they given you an estimate of how long it will get your surgery date? I've known two people to use the surgeon I have a consult with. Both say it takes about six months to get things going. I wish it could happen sooner, as it would be great to have the summer to heal, but I'll take whatever I can get. Good luck to you as well!
