    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

The remarkable thing is how different each of these programmes are. For me, they discharged me from the hospital as soon as I could handle full liquids, a couple of days later I could start the purée diet and now, I am on soft foods.

My two-week post-op check was on Monday and Tuesday would be two weeks from my surgery.

That's the objective. When I spoke with the nurses at my surgeon's office yesterday, she told me that she would expect me to lose 10% of my starting weight by my six-week appointment. Since I've already lost half that, it could come down.

I contacted my surgeon's office yesterday and they said not to worry. If I gain again tomorrow, I will phone my surgeon's office again tomorrow. As for menstruation... I am a transgender woman, I do not menstruate.

I gained another 0.3 kg between today and yesterday. I'm monitoring my caloric intake. So far, I've consumed 645 calories today.

You may not want to journal, but you have to journal. There is so much that could go wrong after surgery and journaling helps you diagnose when it's gone wrong, as well as where it went wrong, how it went wrong and how to get back on track.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I just phoned my surgeon's office and they told me that they expect that when I come in to see my surgeon for my six-week check on Friday the 13th, that I should lose the same amount of weight I had before, so to be down roughly 16 lbs more to make a total of 32 lbs.

So far, I've lost 7,1 kg since the Sunday before the surgery. If I spend the next seven days stalled and lose another 7 kg this month, I'll still consider this a win.
  9. I live in Longmont, Colorado, and I moved here after getting my doctorate from Oxford University in Oxford, UK.

I've heard 80% of weight loss is nutritional. Yeah, that sucks.

Are you food journaling? If so, how?

I gained 0.4 kg today. I'm not liking this trend, and if it doesn't break soon, I'm phoning the surgeon's office first thing Monday morning.
  14. I don't remember seeing that post but I will tell you one thing, if she is really a psychologist, her licensure needs to be a thing of the past.
  15. I've found a great book online today that should help you find ways to beat your post-op depression.
  16. Wait, that actually happened?!? That's so screwed up!

I get on the scale once a day so I have a graph of my weight in the event something is wrong so I can easily show the the surgeon.
  18. I've heard it could enlarge the pouch created in the surgery.
  19. Yeah, I hate when people flippantly use that language, especially as a gun owner.
  20. Sometimes, support can include "serious negativity". A black and white view of the world is not healthy, and seeing feedback that makes you uncomfortable as solely "negative" might make it harder for you to recognize and implement good advice. I know there is a lot of immaturity and some people may be downright mean but sometimes negativity may be important. For example, if you post here that you're afraid you ruined your surgery because you ate a whole pizza, you'll likely get some negative feedback. This is because many of us (myself included) are subjected to a litany of idiotic classes by our insurance companies about diet. Moments of weakness are understandable but the answer isn't to baby people, the answer is to light a fire under people's butts to get them to make the necessary changes to make this surgery a success.
  21. I would argue that in some instances, negativity is a good thing and that it can be crucial to have a balance. If all you want is people blowing sunshine up your butt, that can have negative consequences. Sometimes, we need to face hard truths which are the key to achieving success with our programmes. We have to face these hard truths to change the habits that caused us to need this surgery in the first place. You want REAL positivity? Use the feedback, both positive and "negative" to take your surgery further and achieve your goals!

    I regret this surgery

Yeah, how dare I care about other people. If only I could be a sociopath like you, not have any care about how my actions affect others.

Well, considering you're an abusive troll who likes to insult and pick on people, I can see why you value your anonymity. After all, it is a shield that protects you from any sort of consequences for the horrible things you say about others. Whereas, I believe my lack of anonymity means that I will remain accountable for my words.

It certainly doesn't feel real, but I have met people that obtuse before.
