My tastes changed immediately... 2 weeks after surgery I devoured green Beans, which I previously hated.

Yeah, those are all relatively fatty. Perhaps you have developed gall stones? Eating a fatty meal and having gall stones can cause pain/nausea/vomiting.

I've timed my meals to coincide with my Vitamin schedule:
7:15 - Breakfast and Vitamin #1
9:30 - snack #1 and Calcium chew #1
12:30 - lunch and vitamin #2
2:30 - Snack #2 and Calcium chew #2
5:30 (ish) - dinner and calcium chew #3
Bedtime - vitamin #3

My spouse (who wants the sleeve as well) and my sister (who's had a bypass already).

I was on the treadmill on day 5. It's just walking, not working out.

I'm surprised how little I care what other people think about my weight loss or appearance.

So far (6 weeks out) I've done Mexican, Chinese, and Italian out, and I've had:
Mexican: chicken chimichanga, black Beans, stuffed chile relleno, fajitas, huevos rancheros
Chinese: tofu, garlic green Beans, chicken curry, mongolian chicken, dragon chicken rice bowl (no rice!)
Italian: chicken marsala with broccoli
I'm restricted for right now to no raw vegetables and no beef, pork, or lamb, so I've really only scratched the surface of what I can/will be able to eat.
Follow your plan.

First thing each morning. Keeps expectations real and reminds me that surgery is a tool, not a magic wand.

I was sleeved on a Tuesday, and I was ready to go back to work on the next Monday. Actually went back the Wednesday after that, since our FMLA contractors were being obtuse.

In most ways, I'm a lot like @@LipstickLady - I'm blunt and direct, and I don't pussyfoot around.
I'm also logical and dispassionate (which serves me excellently in my avocation). This frequently puts me at odds with drama queens who are ruled by their feelings and little else. Oh well, tough titty.
And I don't believe in personal attacks... until you attack me. Then it's gloves off, *choose your expletive*.

Yup. But I still do it without the name calling and expletives because I am a lady.
The power of names!

I have gotten a lot of comments online - I've been in such a good mood that my friends think that I've been replaced by a pod person.
At the NYE party I got a lot of attention (which I hate), but thankfully no one was interrogative as to the reason for the weight-loss.
No comments at work yet, but I expected that, since we're a professional office.

I'm exactly 5 weeks out today.
I'm eating real food (no beef, pork, lamb, or raw vegetables). I get about 600-900 calories a day. I'm drinking 100+ ounces of liquids per day (as well as 1 Protein shake). Walking for 30-60 minutes per day.
Down exactly 30# from the day of surgery (37# if you include the Water weight from the IV).
Everything is awesome. Off all of my meds except 7 more weeks of the PPI, my allergy pill, and a very low dose BP med (maybe another 6 months of that).
Down to a 1X shirt, 38-40" pants. Fully expect to reach goal in 6 months.

Totally agree with @Dub - most of the changes I made I made before surgery. It definitely has made the past 5 weeks post-op much simpler, since the habits were already in place.
Nothing stopping you from changing your eating now.
I am having my surgery in May and I had realized that this is the last holidays I will be able to eat like this. So I ate alot of sweet potatoes my favorite and still because of paying more attention to Protein I actually lost a lb. New Years was different because of my love of egg nog and nutmeg. I knew the eggnog would hurt me but I have kinda been making my funeral arrangements one food item at a time. I am so glad the holidays are over for now but I will be interested in seeing how much my eating will change after surgery, this should be interesting!Did you regret it post surgery? Like, now that you can't eat a whole lot at once, do you regret not having that "Last Supper?"

The goal is to lose weight.....start now....no need to wait around for the surgery to do so. The surgery is not magic.
You will still be able to eat sweet potatoes and drink egg nog and have a bunch of other junk food post op if you choose to do so. It's never to early to put good practices into place.

No resolutions for me... I'm the "do, or do not, there is no try" type.
-
I'm at 5 weeks and I'm between 600-900 calories per day (depends on oils and cheeses), and I'm walking 30-60 minutes a day, so a net 300-600 calories per day.
-
Nope, not at all.

Have a sugar-free popsicle instead.

I was a Diet Coke fiend and gave it up 6 months prior to surgery. I honestly don't miss it... and when I stopped, my sweet tooth went away.
Now it is so unappealing, there's no chance of me taking it up again.

People (men or women) who hit or throw things are not worth knowing, let alone be married to.

I went back and added in my drinking schedule. Between 8:15 and 12:00, I generally drink 48-72 oz. Between 1:20 and 5:00, I drink another 48-72 oz.
I don't have any problems at all getting liquids in, in fact I drink 100+ oz. a day; I actually stop mid-evening so I don't have to get up and pee during the night.
