    You lied again lol

It's a shame that so many of the posters have had such poor experiences with support groups. My surgeon's group has an excellent support structure. Each meeting has a facilitator for each group (the patients are separated by their point in the process) who moves the conversation along and provides insights and suggestions. I've been to six meetings and have gotten a wealth of information from each. In contrast, while there is a decent amount of good information here in the forums, there's also a ton of whining, self-indulgent attention whoring, and tons of really stupid questions. Each experience has its plusses and minuses. Take what you need from either, both, or neither, as it suits your needs. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. "
  2. Okay post-sleevers, what's the raw truth on colds and allergies post-op? With all the snot and mucus and post-nasal drip, how does this affect you? I can imagine post-nasal drip easily filling a tiny sleeve... "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. "

  5. Some women lie. Some women have no clue. Some women with PCOS are so used to missing periods that they might not even be aware of a pregnancy. Is it better for the hospital to do a simple test, or pay millions of dollars out to woman after an infant is born with issues after she swore she wasn't pregnant, and she yet she still sues?
  6. Yeah, the latest version of WW is awful. They play with the formulas every so often, demonizing one nutrient factor with each version. I'm stuck following WW until my surgery, but I'm ditching that b***h ASAP. The current f ood demon for WW is carbs; I had to roll my eyes when the app said I could have bananas for zero points (100 calories or so), but a low-calorie popsicle cost me 4 points (70 calories). Absolutely stupid. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. "

    ?

The fact that you are eating bread and potatoes gives me pause. You should be eating p rotein, not carbs. And vegetables, after you've eaten your p rotein (if you even have room). Carbs should be at the very bottom of a list of things to eat. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. "
  12. Christ, I would have kicked her ass to the curb long ago. Family is who you choose to have in your life, not those who are there by accident of birth. Your mother is not treating you like family. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. "

    Reason for being off work

You've already volunteered too much information. If you're going out on leave, you only need to tell HR enough to get the leave paperwork completed, and you don't have to tell them why/what you're doing. Do you have to tell everyone what you're doing on vacation? No, and medical leave is the same way.
  15. Diabetes resolving No longer taking 10+ meds a day Ziplining! Haven't been able to do these excursions on any of my past cruises Sitting in chairs without having to judge whether it will hold me Never having to set foot in a DXL store again Being able to buy concert/show t-shirts and have them fit Fitting into my "Lesbian Avengers" t-shirts! Any good comebacks?

Try this, I use this all the time for situations where people comment on things that are really none of their business: *look at them, confused* *when they continue talking, suddenly look like you understand something * "Ohhhh... I get it, you think I give a s h i t what you think. How silly/egotistical/self-righteous/retarded/stupid (choose insulting word that fits the person) of you!" Then laugh and walk away. 18. My first thought is complications... if something goes wrong in the short term (after MX) you have to deal with a local physician/facility and get them up to speed on you. Will they be able to get medical records from MX? If something was done inappropriately and you find out only afterwards, what is your recourse? Can you sue someone in another country or will they tell you to piss off? If your surgery is botched, will your insurance throw a tizzy to get it fixed; refuse to pay for repair, etc. Tons of iffy questions. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. Annoying Co-Workers

True, women are catty and gossipy by nurture... they're taught to be that way by other women. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. "

    Dealing with Rejection

Prayer does jack and shit. The OP needs therapy. Go to a therapist and change your life. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. "
  22. Oh honey, didn't your sisters/mother/girlfriends tell you that "we can still be friends" is a bullshit lie? Even guys know that. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. "
  23. The only medical advice appropriate on a message board is "ask your doctor." You're paying them specifically for care, and it is their duty to provide it. Use it! All other advice here should be "this was/is/has been my experience." I don't put up with emotional bullshit from anyone... I'm not here to soothe the mentally unstable or provide therapy; again, there are medical professionals you can pay for that. Which means that I'm not going to play head games with the easily offended/those looking to be offended. Go play with your dumbass girlfriends if you need that drama. And I have to disagree with Alex... tone is relatively easy to pick up in text. But "tone" isn't taught in English until 9th grade, and for many, if not most Americans it takes 13 years of their education (K-12) just to get to a 7th grade mastery of the language. The trope that "tone is difficult" is just a way to disguise one's inability to write effectively... not to mention the reader's ability to comprehend the material (again, 13 years to attain 7 years of mastery). In conclusion, I would simply recommend growing a thicker skin, and asking your doctor for real advice. For tips, message boards are fine, if you can learn to simply ignore the squawking hens. Need Help With Working Out / Training - Clueless.

Get a trainer. You're just going to injure yourself without guidance. It doesn't have to be a ton of sessions, just have the trainer teach you how to start and go from there. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. "
