It absolutely makes NO freaking sense to me... **MY RANT**

I'm a relative noob (sleeved on 9/6) and it doesn't make any sense to me either. I was it utter disbelief when I read that someone had a pork chop 7 days post op. I was like SERIOUSLY??? Do you not understand what you just did to yourself??? I do appreciate the veterans that dole out good advice, even when it is ill-received!

    Embrace the Stall

Trying REALLY (and I do mean really) damn hard to embrace this week long stall - I am only 2.5 weeks post-op!! - was hoping to enjoy a honeymoon weight loss period for longer than a week and a half....just needed to whine a second, now I am putting on my big girl panties and envisioning smashing my scale with a hammer.

How long did you stay out of work

I was sleeved on 9/6. I was back at work on 9/19. I was expecting to be wiped out in the evening but I have been feeling surprisingly good. ( I have a desk job)
  4. Less than 24 hours! I am so ready to get to the loser's bench!

    Who did you tell?

I have told my Husband, and a few friends who either have had surgery or they know someone who has had the surgery. I told my boss and a couple of co-workers that I am having surgery to take care of an ongoing issue that I've had. Oh, and I told my HR rep. I don't want to tell anyone in my family that I am having the surgery because i am afraid they will not be supportive and try to convince me not to go through with it. I am not sure if I will tell folks afterward - I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

The pre op freak out, how do I stop it?

I am 4 days out and freaking out a bit also. I don't know the statistics, but I think complications are pretty rare. I know two people personally and 2 via support group that have had zero complications and are feeling great. I think the anxiety is normal. The surgery is kind of a big deal. You just need to keep referring back to all the due diligence you have done up to this point!!

    Sleeved and at home recuperating!

Ok, I first read your title as "Sleeved at home and recuperating" and I was like Wha???? LOL Drains are a beast! I had them for a different surgery. When they pulled it out I very nearly blacked out from the pain.
  9. a good friend of mine had the surgery in April. She has been instrumental in my decision to have the surgery. She looks and feels wonderful, and has given me all kinds of tips. I have also met a few people at the support groups that have been very helpful.
  10. I am going to start doing origami. I am on my 11th day of liquids.

    2 weeks away!

I'm on my 8th day of liquids. My worst days were the 1st & 4th for some reason. I'm in a groove right now and it's not TOO bad. I will admit I've had one cheat item but since then I've been on the straight and narrow. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    No Pre Op liquid diet?

Very lucky!!! I'm on day 7 of liquids!!! (And My surgery is on 9/6) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I think you'll be fine - just so long as you stick to the liquid diet for The 12 days. I know some people that have had shorter liquid diets, and some no liquid diets at all. That being said, will you be in a position to maintain the necessary diets post-op? (Protein shakes, Vitamins, etc?). Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Unjury win!

I just tried mixing a small amount of unjury unflavored into a cup of applesauce. The smell to me was off-putting. I mixed it in really well and was able to eat about half, but that was it.
