I wonder the same thing. I started out at 256 in early april by the april 30 i was down to 241. I lost 10 pounds withing the first couple of weeks. By the end of june 08 i was down to 217 well well well....i am now at 219 i have bounced between 213 and 220 for almost 5 months. I have a 14cc band and have 7.25 in the band. In three months it will be a year for me and from surgery date weighing 241 to today weighing 219....i just want to give up. I have really started exercising really hard the past couple of months and not a pound lost. I know when i'm full and it really don't take that much but withing a hour or 2 i'm wanting something else. Not really sure if i'm really hungry or not. So ashamed to say it but true. Any help or suggestions i will take. Because right now i regret even having the surgery. You know if i ate properly, ate less and exercised before lapband what would i have needed it for?

i'm really glad to see this thread (though i'm the first one to remind everyone that fill amounts don't mean anything and there's no point comparing). I had my first fill a couple of weeks ago in my apl band, of less than 5 ccs. And i don't feel any restriction to speak of.what caused your slippage. Do you know?

I started out weighing 256 april 7 got down to 241 by surgery date april 30. Within a week i was down to 231. Lowest weight was in june at 217. Since june i have gone up and down 217 to 223. Back and forth back and forth. I get my 4th fill oct 3 .... I'm wondering the same thing...whats the problem

dinner...2 or 3 pork chops...2 helpings of mac n cheese...gardenpeas...and 2 biscuits...
Now...comparing what i ate yesterday to what i would eat without the band...all things considering i guess i'm not doing to bad...
My problem with dieting is.....if i can't eat what i want i just give up....so with the band i'm still gonna eat what i want just less of it....

Congratulations on your weight loss!!!!I find that my sweet tooth is usually cuased by insulin spikes and drops brought on by too many bad carbs in my diet. Are you taking in more food with flour, sugar or starches than you should? Are you eating plenty of Protein and high Fiber veggies and fruits? (protein first, then veggies then fruits). Are you following the band rules? (small bites, chew thoroughly and eat slowly, no drinks with meals etc.)
On days where you feel like you could eat and eat, is it "head" hunger or are you truly hungry? Head hunger could be due to insulin spikes or emotional. True hunger could mean that you need a fill or are not eating correctly.

I DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE AND WHAT A SHAME. I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN IT. I FIND MYSELF THINKING..I'M A HUNGRY?...OR AM I WANTING SOMETHING?

HOW TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN REALLY HUNGRY TO HEAD HUNGER. I UNDERSTAND OF COURSE BUT ONCE I GET TO THAT POINT OF YEA:blink: I'M HUNGRY I THINK I'M PASTE THE POINT AND I'M STARVED AND DON'T EVEN WANT TO EAT THEN...BUT I DO CAUSE I KNOW I NEED TO....

this concerns me because i too am getting really bad headaches at least 2 to 4 times a week. i was banded april 08 and i have been getting these headaches now for over a month

Well Dang...I guess I'm gonna be the first one from Greensboro on here.My name is Alisa and I'm 26 years old. I'll be married to my wonderful husband, Trevor, for 1 year in May. I got banded on Feb. 12th and I am soooooooooo ready for my first fill. I just got done eating a whole chicken biscuit!! I haven't done that since before the surgery....but I have to say it was delicious:blushing::ohmy:

hi all....been here earlier in the year to tell a little about myself... i'm from benson nc...married...2 girls..ages 4 and 1...work as a 911 dispatcher. i was banded april 30 2008 and have lost around 40 pounds
anyone else close to the area of benson?

Boy can i relate!!!!!! I was not a sweet eater at all before the band. But now i have found my self to be sitting down with a cup of heavenly hash...omg!! It is so good!! It just cures every craving i have had the entire day. I never liked ice cream that much before and i don't know why i like it now........but i do!!!!! I told myself after this box i was not going to buy anymore at all... Try this...it is great1 1/2 scoops of vanilla whey Protein powder
1 sugar free Jello pudding...choc ..vanilla...or caramel
2 packets of sweet n low
1 tablespoon of Peanut Butter
1 squirt of sugar free choc Syrup
10 or more cubes of ice
blend and you will have ice cream heaven the more ice the better

I wasn't trying to be mean. I have just been seeing so many posts lately where people are nagging on those getting the band who don't weigh as much as others and I read your post wrong. No hard feelings!:biggrin:I DIDN'T THINK YOU WERE...NO PROBLEM.....
I UNDERSTAND SMALLER PEOPLE GETTING LAPBAND. MOST HAVE PROB WEIGHED 125 POUNDS THEIR WHOLE LIFE AND HAVE NOW GAINED UP TO 160 AND THINK THEY ARE HUGE. ABOUT LIKE MYSELF...I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A BIG GIRL AND TO WEIGH 185 I WOULD THINK I WAS SKINNY..LOL:biggrin:

When I had to take mine out for a surgery while pregnant with the twins at first I had trouble getting it back in. I used a toothpick to make the hole straight enough and easier to work with, and pushed the toothpick out with my belly ring to get it back in. It sounds worse than it is but if you have had your piercing for a while I would try to use the toothpick trick before I would give up and let it close. For the person who has never seen a bellyring on an overweight person, well I wasn't overweight when I got it 15 years ago, I just stopped wearing shorter tops so the only person who sees it is my hubby and kids. I have had it so long I can't imagine myself without it even for a few days. It will be one of the first things I put back on when we get home from the hospital.I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT.... SORT OF LIKE MY TONGUE RING...CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT....FOR MY OWN PLEASURE NO ONE ELSES.....:biggrin:

You must take all metal jewelry off for surgery because they don't want anything on you that can conduct an electric current and burn you.BTTRFLI- If they want belly button rings, who cares? It has nothing to do with whether or not they need lapband. When I worked labor and delivery I would see 300+ lb women come in with their belly buttons done. I personally don't have one, but to each his own.:biggrin:

I'm gonna be no help but i understand. I started out a 256 and lost down to 241 by surgery date of april 30 2008. In one week i lost down to 230 and by the middle of june down to 217. It is now august 3 almost 2 months later and i have not lost a thing...i actually am bouncing back and forth between 217 and 223. I'm really frustrated. I feel like i have failed but i know i haven't. I'm really depressed and don't know why. I mean i've lost around 40 pounds in 3 months...it takes some a year to lose that much. But i wonder why i haven't lost anything. I'm doing things just the way i did at the beginning of this....

You ladies.....if you are small enough to have your belly button peirced ......what in the world do you need lap band surgery for......i'm not trying to be smart but you must not carry your weight in your tummy...

Thats funny that you put it that way because that is how i have been looking at the situation. I can eat a whopper jr combo from burger king..no bun....and before i ate a double whopper combo.....i used to eat 3 or 4 thick crust pieces of pizza now i'm only eating 2 small thin crust peices....every little bit counts...i just feel quilty...maybe because i'm not sitting down and eating a grilled chicken breast and celery or something....but thats my problem...if i can eat what i want but just a smaller amount i can satisfy the mind more..rather than eating a belly full of what i really don't want....i guess i'm making since here....
My entire problem is my mind. I want to please it to much. I still find myself eating when i'm not hungry...with the same mind set of .....well at least its not as much as i used to snack on.....and thats just not good.
I have not lost any weight in the past month and i feel it is because of this....mindset

I have a Realize Band & feel very lucky to have it. The best spokesman I found is Dr. Curry of Cincinnatti, Ohio. A fine bariatric surgeon. He has several web sites. He has answered questions for me that nobody else could. Banded 1/15/08, 6&1/2 months later 120 pounds lost + gone forever. I can so relate....i have a 14 cc band 4 cc was put in during surg and 2 cc since....just last week..and i feel like i'm starved...i know i'm not and i know its only my mind really. But i also had 2 slices of pizza last night but they were cut in smaller squares and i sure could of ate more. I'm still not what you would say full either....well not miserably full which is sort of what i'm use to...and yesterday i had a few chicken livers....and i drank some Water right after because i had put hot sauce on them.....and i think i'm not sure but i had sliming...it felt like i had to keep swallowing over and over and something was in my throat....i don'tknow...maybe it was just my mind...

HI ALL.... I WAS BANDED APRIL 30 2008. I STARTED OFF AT 256 AND BY BAND DATE I WAS DOWN TO 241. WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS I WAS DOWN TO 230. I GOT DOWN TO 217 THE FIRST WEEK IN JULY AND HAVEN'T REALLY LOST A THING SINCE. I HAVE BOUNCED BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN 213 AND 220 FOR ALMOST 5MONTHS NOW. I JUST WANT TO GIVE UP. I HAVE A 14 CC BAND...I HAVE 7.25 IN THE BAND NOW THE FIRST BEING 4CC...THEN 1CC... 1CC.... 0.75CC AND 0.50 CC SO 5 FILLS ALL TOGETHER I HAVE BEEN SO DISQUESTED I DIDN'T EVEN GO TO MY JAN 09 DOCTORS APPOINTMENT. I HAVE WEIGHED THE SAME FOR ALMOST 3 MONTHS. ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE POINT. YOU KNOW WE ARE ALL TOLD NO SUGAR...NO BREAD...EXERCISE DAILY...ON AND ON....WE ALL KNOW THE BAND RULES. BUT YOU KNOW IF WE DONE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE WE WOULD OF NEVER GOT BIG ENOUGH TO HAVE THE SURGERY. IN SAYING THAT I AM STILL GONNA EAT WHAT I WANT TO EAT JUST LESS OF IT OF COURSE. THAT WHAT THEY SAY.....EVERYONE CAN LOOSE WEIGHT AND LONG AS YOU EAT LESS AND EXERCISE...WELL THATS NOT TRUE. ON AVERAGE I EAT A BOWL OF oatmeal FOR Breakfast, A TURKEY SANDWICH FOR lunch, AND A SLICE OF pizza FOR SUPPER. NO THATS NOT ALL GOOD FOR ME BUT ITS BETTER THAN 2 eggs, BACON, GRITS AND TOAST FOR BREAKFAST, A DOUBLE CHEESBURGER, FRENCH FRIES AND A SWEET TEA FOR LUNCH AND 2 PORKCHOPS, MAC AND cheese AND CREAMPOTATOES FOR SUPPER. SO TELL ME WHAT I'M DOING WRONG. I JUST DON'T KNOW. IF I ATE AN APPLE FOR BREAKFAST A salad FOR LUNCH AND STEAMED VEGGIES AND A PEICE OF GRILLED chicken THEN I WOULD OF NEVER GOT FAT. I COULD GO ON AND ON....JUST SOMEONE PLEASE HELP CAUSE I GIVING UP AND I MEAN FAST:crying:
