Some of those 18 days were about healing after surgery, not the time to think about weight loss. You're probably at the tail end of healing process now.
The amount of saline is irrelevant to efficacy of the band. You have the right amount when your appetite is diminished. Keep in mind that that can change over time. You may find down the road that you need more saline or need to have a tab removed. The activity of the band can change. It's not a problem, just they way they work.
Some surgeons are more aggressive than others about adjustments. You had your second only about four days ago? It's probably too soon for another. What matters, though, is your practice's stance on how often. CAll and ask.
Never say "...only lost...," especially at the start of your band career. Downward movement on the scale is downward movement.
Fluctuation in rate of loss may occur at any time. It may indicate the need for an adjustment or something else, such as a close review of your eating patterns and food choices. Keep a detailed log. "My Fitness Pal" is widely used and has a good rep. There are plenty of other free food tracker options online. SparkPeople.com is one. You can register only for that purpose or you can also use the workout tracker, read articles on all sorts of relevant things, take part in teams. It's your choice. Keeping a tracker will enable the RD at your practice to work with you on making improvements if the need arises.

My first fill was 4 weeks after surgery, 4cc's...the 4 weeks prior to that I lost weight mainly due to the post-op diet of liquids, mushies, etc.......2nd fill was 4 weeks after the first, 2cc's...in between the first and 2nd fil I started to GAIN WEIGHT....
Talk about being frustrated, jumped through all those hoops with all that anxiety for NOTHING...I brought this up to some people at the surgeon's office and was lectured about counting calories, measuring portions, keeping journals, etc etc....
WHAT ??????? I didn't need surgery to do all that....That is exactly what I was doing, and failing at, all those years with traditional diets!
I will say after that 2nd fil, I at least quit gaining...really didn't lose either though.
Came back 4 weeks later, 12 weeks since surgery, for my 3rd fil...only 1 cc....and WHAM!!! Talk about restriction.
I had to call my Dr. and state I felt I was too tight...he told me to hang in there, and remember all the "Rules" about eating with the band...now is the time I needed to put them into practice...
Sure enough, it took some adjusting on my part to cope with the band. Learned to apply new ways of eating, smaller bites, chew thoroughly, no drinking while eating, and so forth. Was forced to give up certain food types altogether...
After 3 fils, and slowly learning to live with the band, things began to get easier and easier...the only hard part was ME...I had to change after a lifetime of doing things all wrong...but eventually I was sailing along in the Green zone enjoying life more than ever. The more I learned, the easier it got....the weight started to come off consistently by the week.
That was almost 6 years ago...things still cannot be any better. Lost ALL my excess body fat, regained my health, and changed my life forever.
It's got to be so day to day I don't even think about it that much anymore...just go about my business living this new lifestyle I have learned, all because of the band....

I was banded 11/2014 and lost about 65lbs including pre op. I gained 15 back the last few months and I'm starting back journaling all my food. So I'm right here with ya!

I was banded 7/23/13 and got down to 172 last year back up to 188 as of this morning. I saw 190 yesterday morning and decided the only way to lose the weight and get to my goal is to put in the work. I can't blame my band because it's my hand that puts the food in my mouth. Journaling all food with my fitness pal. I am doing this for me. I would live to share this back on track journey with others in the same boat as me.

My name is kim and I've had lapband since June 3rd 2011. In my first year I lost 75lbs. 2nd year, I had complications. The lapband became too small, I had the size 10 cc band. With it completely empty I couldn't swallow. My old surgeon kept saying the band was fine, I needed to change my eating habits. I knew I was doing all I could, so I seen another dr, my current dr. He said the band was too small, so I had a size 14cc Band placed December 8th 2013. To be honest, it's been amazing to just enjoy food and life. TWO years later, I'm ready to get back on track. I've gained 30 lbs back and I need to lose 60lb all together. I'm here for support and motivation! So, HELLO!
