    Standing too long - Nausea

I am 5 days out today and was standing for about 15 minutes yesterday when I started feeling nausea as well. Glad to know I'm not the only one. I truly believe its from the lack of food in the beginning and our bodies readjusting to the new one. Just make sure to rest when you feel you need it and move around when you have the energy. Thats what my surgeon told me...

    Belly binder for incision

I had my sleeve on 09/19/2016... I am fighting this same feeling since last night and I was not given a belly binder.. I feel this pulling sensation ANYTIME I move a certain way... If I am not laying down, I am having to hold it just to maintain the pulling... its driving me crazy and makes me feel like something is wrong... ugh!

    September 2016 Sleevers!

I am scheduled for Sept 19th, as long as my lab tests come back normal. I am super excited and ready to be on the losers bench!
  5. Hello All, I received my approval letter last week and I am scheduled to see the surgeon on Friday. I noticed on my approval letter that it stated my surgery date was 09/16/2016. I called the surgeons office to confirm since i will need to let my employer know. The informed me that this date is what they call a dummy date, just a date given to insurance. However, as the lady and I were talking, she also informed me that the surgeon I was approved for only does surgery once a month at the place i was approved for... The only way to have my surgery this month would be if I start my pre-op diet on Labor day, along with him still having openings for that date, if not my surgery wont be until Oct 2016, which really sucks. I am starting my liquid diet today ANYWAYS, just in case the two days really don't make a differences with my surgeon and he still has openings (along with not requiring any further testing from me...) My questions are... Is there really a difference in your liver when you are on a 14 day liquid diet vs a 12 day liquid diet? Is there anything that I can do to help shrink my liver more to make up those two days I have lost? Thank you all for your help in advance. I look forward to hearing what you all have to say!

    Pre-op Questions

Thank you Laceemouse. I am extremely excited. It will only be this month if he still has an opening on the 19th. Otherwise, I will be an October Sleever. I hope you get your approval soon. I know how much waiting for that stinks...

    Pre-op Questions

thank you KristenLe. I called my nutritionist and she said that I will be fine to just be strict with it for the 12 days.

    Water problem

Well, technically your not eating it, so you may want to ask your nutritionist if that would be acceptable or not...

    Water problem

FRESH FRUIT!!! Put fresh fruit in with your Water and let it soak for a few minutes, then drink it. I love to do oranges with blueberries, strawberries with lemon and cucumbers with a few mint leaves... Also, if you have a fitbit or a alarm on your phone, set it for a certain time and KNOW you have to drink the water then... I have my fitbit go off every hour to remind me to drink a serving of water and by the end of the work day, I got all 8! Hope this helps.

    Hi Everyone!

I really like the Isopure premade fruit Protein drinks, strawberry Premier Protein and the chocolate muscle milk. All the Protein Drinks have to be premade as I do NOT like the grittiness of the powder ones. I also have tried the nectar ones, which are pretty decent as well. I also got clear protein to try and mix with zero calorie gatorade (not sure how this is going to taste, but i am going to try it)... I am also going to buy Jello packs to make myself to mix the clear protein into so I can have protein jello. Hope this helps and good luck with your surgery! I hope my surgery date will be close to yours!

    Advice needed

Good morning Ra_girl... My husband has been completely supportive of the surgery but he has fears of the surgery process as well. The one thing I have done to help get him and keep him on board his remind him of my long term goals. I remind him that he will be able to fit his arms around me tighter than he can now. I will be able to run, my knee will stop hurting when I workout. I will be able to feel more confident in myself. confidence in myself, will help me stop feeling like he is going to leave me because i am overweight. Just remind him of how this change will benefit him as well and reassure him that you wont leave when you get thinner. Reassure him that this is the journey you feel is best for the BOTH of you and this is going to be a good thing. Tell him to find a support group on the bariatric pal website or on facebook so he can get reassurance from other spouses. Men are a lot more insecure than we know and when they feel insecure or threatened by changes, it tends to make them not be 100% supportive in a positive way... and they definitely dont mean it to be that way... Ask him if there is something you can do, say or research to make him feel better... thats what i had to do. I had to sit down and research all his fears about the surgery and we talked about them and how we can avoid them, and it made him feel better. FYI, this is all based on my own husbands actions and feelings. Its taken a while for me to break his barriers down since starting this process and now he cant wait to see how this surgery benefits me. Hope this helps!

    The Waiting Game

I am with you. I am playing the waiting game as well. My paperwork was submitted last week. I used to think I was a patient person... not to much anymore... I am hoping to have my surgery at the end of Sept... I want to be fully recovered by Christmas time so I can truly enjoy the season with my family. I cant believe how FAST these past few months have gone. It really was all overwhelming in the beginning but as I started to check things off my list, it felt better. Congrats on making it to the end... you will be on the loosers bench before you know it! Best of luck to you in the future!
  14. I agree with gemigirl... I have noticed that when I eat a big Breakfast but stick to nothing but Protein shakes, I tend to lose weight were as eating lean meats and vegetables makes me gain. However, I took Phentermine as well and had NO success whats so ever with it. I also took Qsymia and had quite a bit of success. I lost 30 lbs in about 6 months on it. Good luck, I hope you find something that works for you!
  15. I am still waiting for my approval from insurance for my surgery, but I worry about sagging skin too. You are definitely not alone there. All the ladies above definitely just helped me see that I am worrying for nothing because the end result is the only thing that matters. I do a bootcamp class here in Texas called Camp Gladiator and it has helped me tighten up the skin I have from losing the weight I have when I started in January. Definitely weight train when you are able to. Wish you the best of luck with your surgery!

    Approval Letter

Thank you KristenLe for confirming I am not crazy, nor alone. haha. I just might give them a call today!
  18. So, I finally completed all the requirements for my insurance on 08/05/2016. Now I am just waiting for the approval letter from my insurance company which should be by the end of this month... BUT... is there anyone else wanting to call them everyday and ask them if they got the approval yet or am I just being extremely impatient? haha.

    Favorite Protein Shakes

I like premade Proteins. Premier is really good, but I also really enjoy the Muscle Milk. I like those two the most just because they have so many flavors, so I dont feel like I am drinking the same thing everytime. I also tried the premade Isopure Green Apple from GNC... REALLY GOOD! Reminds me of a green apple jolly rancher. It does have a funny after taste at first but nothing completely intolerable. The other flavors are not so good to me... but you may like them.
  20. Hello All, I have Aetna insurance and just finish my last weight check appointment on Friday August 5th. I am currently just waiting for my insurances approval for the surgery. I am hoping for a surgery date of 09/19-09/21, but will just be thankful for anything close or after that date. I am very excited and it feels like these days have definitely SLOWED down. Best of luck to you ALL!
  21. I have told a select few people. My mom, husband, my children a very select few coworkers, and both of my bosses. All are very encouraging for the most part. They all have asked many questions (how do I feel, what made me decide on the surgery, what does it consist of, how long will I be out of work, ect)... I love knowing I have support everywhere so that I am not alone and don't have to keep this a secret. My husband has been truly supportive and positive about the whole process. He wants to be there for all my appointments and take the days off when I am off. It's been a wonderful experience having them by my side. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  22. Hopefully around September 20th in Richardson, Texas
