  1. hey girlies, I always had perms but wear sew-ins frequently. November 201 4 or 2013 I stopped getting perms and just grew my perm out. I am terrified of hair loss and I am 8 months out. but my hair has been growing like crazy!!!! I think the healthy eating and being natural is wonderful on the hair!!! I use tresseme moisture rich Shampoo and conditioner and garnier fructise leave n conditioner.

  2. My surgery is May 25 , 2016. My daughter doesn't want me to have this surgery done. And I've almost changed my mind. Thing I can do this on my own , which I have failed . One of my son's said , 'you've always wanted this, it's a fresh start , do it for you, don't listen to anyone else'. So I'm getting my gastric bypass, and I'm looking forward to my new life.

Best wishes to you on this journey❤️. What is your daughter afraid of? If I may ask

My mom doesn't want me to have it either. She feels as if I would fall into depression if I lose too fast and have too much hanging skin. I'm doing this for me and you should hold your head up high and be proud of the decision you made????

  3. I had my heart set on the band for years. I went to a physical and the PA was like nope African American woman with a BMI higher than 55 usually do not have success with the band. So We decided the bypass. I'm nervous about losing hair more than anything but am ready for this journey. My consult with the surgeon is 5/26

  4. I had my heart set on the sleeve until I talked to my surgeon. He was very honest, my BMI is super high, and to get the results I would want (and need to be honest) the bypass would be the best for me. I also have GERD and the sleeve can make that worse.

I haven't yet had my surgery, but this is the route I'm going on, and my mind is pretty okay with that.

One thing I've learned from researching and reading like crazy, is you cannot base your decision on everybody else's. What works great for you, may not work for somebody else.

Just keep researching. And go with your gut!
