hi liz - i hear it is different every day. go figure!
can i ask you a question? i had a 3 cc first fill, like you did, on july 7, and feel no restriction. did you? now that you have had another 2 cc fill, is there a difference? can you describe it? thanks so much and keep up the great work!

no answers here, but i am sending support and encouragement. the only failure would be to give up. don't give up!!!
-
CONGRATULATIONS! this one is definitely on my "to do" list!

14 cc band here too! i had surgery with empty band on may 23 and first fill of 3cc on july 7. i still feel NO restriction and go for my next fill on aug. 4 but have been thinking about trying to go sooner. has anyone ever called to ask for an interim fill? what happened?

i hear you! i am 6 weeks out and have struggled to lose half as much as many others here. i just had my first fill and feel no restriction. it is so frustrating, but i am told that the slower losers at first often catch up. i also have a thyroid problem and went on meds a few months ago so am hoping that might help. good luck and don't give up!!!

I HEAR YOU!
i am only 1.5 months out of surgery and just had my first fill with no restriction and all my compulsive eating habits in full force.
you are a very pretty young woman. i wish you luck!!!

welcome back and good luck with the rest of your goal!
not sure if ww still does journaling, but i just joined thedailyplate.com and it is really helping me to track what i eat and learn the calories in everything!

hi iodine! my dad was 67 and is doing great! i am 46 but there are as many people in your age group in my surgeon's office as in mine when i go for appointments. i am in michigan and my dad is in ny. where are you?

susan, just adding my support and UNDERSTANDING about your situation. it could happen to anyone, especially with the economy the way it is. i am scared too. i will pray for you to keep your house. please keep us posted as i will be thinking of you and yours.
scarlett, i am sure you didn't mean it the way it sounded; it's just a sensitive subject for many of us right now.

i'm gonna say you are lucky. i could eat as soon as i was allowed and had no restriction. just had my first fill yesterday and still don't feel restricted. know i need to stay positive but am feeling very sad and disappointed. had surgery may 23 and have only lost 15 lbs.
good luck to you!

prayers coming from michigan and love to joan and her family. please keep us posted!!!

i am so sorry, musicman. i know what a terrible loss this is for you.

i was banded may 23 and have only lost 17 or so, way less than you have. i am trying not to compare myself to others, especially since i have a thyroid condition, but it is hard to be patient.
i have my first fill on monday and hope to get some restriction, as i have little to none right now.
good luck to you!

woo hoo! i am only one month out from surgery but that is one of my fantasies - that and crossing my legs when sitting. how does that feel?
congrats!

i am so sorry for the way you are feeling and wish i could offer you a big hug! i am only 5 weeks out from my surgery and have no idea how things will turn out. i do know that after trying on my own to lose, it seemed like the logical next step. but i can tell you that i know how tough it is to read all the success stories -- in my early case, if i read one more post about how somebody is two weeks post-surgery and has lost twice as much as i have at five weeks out, i will rip my already thinning hair out. when i went to my first post-op, everyone had lost way more weight than i had. but i have a thyroid problem, and they do not. everyone is different. have you had a thorough check up to see if you have any other issues preventing you from losing?
my dad is 71 and had the band 5 years ago. he is 50 lbs. down but probably would have been 50 up without it. that is a 100 lb. difference. he keeps losing, slowly, and while he would like to have lost more, he is okay with that.
all i can tell you is the only failure is to stop trying. please don't stop trying to find your path to your goals. you are worth it.

Hi! Are any Port Huron bandsters still lurking? I had surgery with Dr. Bhesania on May 23 and would love to hear from you!
-
LOL! Same thing happened to me -- they had to change my sheets, my nightgown, everything! I started to cry, I was so embarrassed, but the nurse's aide said it happens all the time!
It went away the next day.
Thanks for sharing

same thing happened to me...i was down about 3-5 more pounds before i started eating mashed potatoes and cream Soups -- go figure, lol! now that i have been cleared to eat salads and veggies (may 23 surgery), i think i will do better, and then i get a fill july 7, which should help a lot.
believe me, i did not like seeing that scale go up, but after two weeks of clear liquids, i should have expected it. it will come off eventually...hang in there!!!

I had Dr. Bhesania at Port Huron -- surgery on May 23 and no complaints here! Best of luck!

I was banded on 5/23 and the gas and bloating pain lasted a good 10 days - 2 weeks, but I'm 3 weeks out and it's gone unless I overeat, in which case it comes back, but only for an hour or two.
I was miserable the first week and not much happier the second, but it is 3 weeks today and I feel 99% back to normal. You will, too.

Blah???
I am sure everyone who has a book or books plans to keep it/them for future reference. And I doubt your attitude will help your chances.
Good luck...you'll need it.

Wow, EricaLyn -- what's it like to be so damned wonderful?
Don't let the door hit you in the _ss on your way out. Buh-bye!

Tell me I am not a total Wimp for taking pain med every 4 hours

i took mine every 4-6 hours until it was gone and i needed it, but just as it ran out, the pain was tolerable.
i know it seems hard to believe but the pain will go away soon. until then, do what you can to manage it! good luck!
