  1. You had your surgery in NY?

Kaiser Fremont drama: 2 years RNY, chronic anemia and malabsorption. In NY, I was getting Iron infusions every five months. Now in California, the bariatric doctor from Fremont is saying that she doesn't order the labs, my PCP has to. The PCP says it's a bariatric thing and she's not getting involved. In the meantime, I'm sitting here 9 months since my last infusion, 89 degree weather, shivering with a sweater. How do I resolve this, and what are my rights as a bariatric patient to get the basic lifetime care that I deserve?

  2. I'm going through the deciding process and I enjoy reading these topics. I am needing to lose 26 more lbs till I can get a date. I was all set for sleeve and then my BMI is in the 60's and Im morbidly obese, my surgeon suggested I may not be able to get to the low 200's like I wanted. He didn't say it was not possible but it may be more difficult. I am scared of the rerouting and more in-depth surgery, but I ask myself do I need that extra to hold me accountable. I know I LOVE food and I have a hard time even trying to stay on the high Protein and low carb now. Im not following it strictly but I am more aware of my food intake and have not had carbonated drinks in 3 weeks. it's a start. I would love to hear pros and cons with both surgeries.

  3. I am in the losing weight before I get a date phase. My BMI is over 60 and I wanted to sleeve. My Dr suggested I consider the bypass as he said it will be better for me in the long run. I still am weighing out the differences. I get confused and I know dumping comes with the bypass and more. Also I know you cannot take Moltrin. Im confused. I have 30 lbs to lose before I get my date. Let me know If you want to chat.

  4. Hi Im Michelle,

Im still trying to figure the website. I was curious if there is anyone in the Bay Area that would be interested in being support buddies. Im just starting my journey and need to lose weight before the scheduling of the date, I just would like to have someone to touch base with and possibly someone going thru and has been thru the same. I struggle with food as we all do. Hope everyone has a great day!

  5. Hi Audaciousmarie,

Are you going to Fremont Kaiser? I went to my appointment with the surgeon and nutritionist. LOVED the surgeon but I was scheduled late in the day so I felt rushed by the nutritionist and was not able to really get al my questions. She was nice just very high strung. LOL What surgery are you getting? When is your surgery date? That is so awesome!

  6. Hi, I'm very new. I am so many emotions. I'm tired of being morbidly obese. I have a meeting tomorrow with the surgeon and dietician at Kaiser Fremont, Ca. I don't want to sound like a dummy but I am the type of person that needs to be shown how and what to eat, how to measure, how to read labels. I guess if I did all that in the beginning I would not be in this situation. I just don't want to fail and I need to make this change for me! Is there anyone here just starting their journey?
