Has anyone done the DS without redoing the sleeve? What are the pros and cons?

Hi Everyone,
I had a vsg back in 2016, I’ve had regain and want to have a revision. Of course insurance won’t cover unless I have gerd or other issues. I did my surgery with GHI/Emblem Health. If I switched insurance to Aetna or another insurance would I get approved because I didn’t do the 1st surgery with them? I’m hoping someone can help me with this question 😞

I’m interested in getting a revision. How long is the wait for approval? Will it be the same process (6 months)? I have emblem health/ghi. I’m in NYC.

I did my psych evaluation yesterday. All I have left is 1 more doc visit next month ( ghi requires 7 consecutive visits) then everything gets submitted. I will do my pre op testing the end of November . Doctor Gorecki asked which date in December I wanted to do the surgery, did he ask you? I think he asks so they can know for insurance purposes.

Thanks for responding . I'm planning to have surgery with him in December. Is your weight loss steady? How much have you lost? How many days did u have to stay in the hospital? Sorry about all the questions...I'm just excited to hear from someone who also used Gorecki!

I've waited over a year to be able to write one of these posts. So without further adieu, I am happy to announce that I have been approved for the VSG. I am so happy that I can't even focus at work!!!

Cheers to 2016 and a new healthy lifestyle. Thank God for blessing me with this opportunity. Thanks to insurance for approving me and my surgeon for having faith that I will do well.
