  1. I am so lucky to have the amazing support system I do...first and foremost, my husband has been wonderful throughout this process and has always stuck by me making us healthy dinners. My mother in law had the sleeve done too about 4 years ago so she's been wonderful. My mom has seen me struggle with my weight my entire life and although she was hesitant at first, she's seen the new life this process has handed me and wants to have it done too! My 2.5 year old has been so patient...from me not being able to hold her for 2 weeks (hardest thing I've ever done) to kissing the "boo boos" on mommy's tummy...she's my reason for wanting to be healthy. My best friend's mom had her sleeve procedure done 2 weeks before mine so she's been wonderful from being a gym partner to someone to talk to and lean on and someone to share the process with. The rest of my family and friends have been encouraging, supportive and wonderful...I am so fortunate to not have any negativity in my life regarding this decision...it's been the greatest thing I've ever done for myself and my family! I go to the boxing gym weekly, go to the gym, run & I'm running my first 5K this weekend...I'm certain I never would be doing this without this new found confidence/determination.

  2. I have Zofran for nausea - it's wonderful to take when needed. Please don't let yourself become dehydrated, it's awful! I've been in the ER twice for dehydration (missed my best friend's wedding :( ) Take care of yourself & stay strong...it gets better! <3

  3. I was sleeved May 2nd - this has been the hardest process but best decision of my life! Through the most strict "diet" I've ever followed I only lost 30 lbs...since the start of my 2 weeks pre-op, I've lost 27 lbs. I've hit my "three week stall" but the inches are melting off! My mother in law was actually my inspiration for the surgery - she had it about 3 years ago and has lost 200+ lbs. so my husband had no worry and nothing but support for me when I told him this was what I was doing. Also, he gets home before me so does the majority of the cooking...it has been a really tough journey and the stall is disheartening but so far, no regret :) Best of luck to you all!!

  4. I was sleeved on 5/2 and my doctor put me into soft foods...I prefer Protein shakes too so I have one in the morning for Breakfast. For about a week and a half I've been in the dreaded three-week stall...it is awful! After seeing 27 lbs melt away and now the scale staying still...it's driving me crazy...I made my husband hide the scale!

How is everyone doing on the third week? I've moved onto the mushy food phase but honestly I'm not interested in food. I prefer my Protein Shakes. But I need a good Protein powder. Any suggestions? I've lost 18lbs so far but my Dr said to expect a stall this week and next :(

  5. I LOVE your post...it's so inspirational! I'm 2.5 weeks out of surgery and have hit the dreaded third week stall...I was starting to beat myself up (even though I know it has nothing to do with what I am or am not doing since I'm following doctors orders to a T). This made me smile and gave me courage...by the time I get to a year out I think I'll have a lot of the same thoughts :) Have a great trip!
