I am just curious as to why you felt your wife's relationship with food was going to change when you had the surgery?

Personally, I would wait. Enjoy your cruise and you family. Come back relaxed and ready to put all of your focus on you.

I am 25 days post op and finally have very little incision pain. Be patient. It takes time to heal! You just had major surgery. Relax and focus on your recovery. It does get better!

The two weeks goes fast. I was on a liquid only diet, but was permitted to have one cup of veggies per day, if needed. I did not cheat. I stuck to my plan.

I looked at mine too today....I totaled it up to be $33,000! 100% coveted by insurance....but my insurance paid the discounted rate. I am blessed to have such good insurance!

I am pretty sure an egg is on the menu for breakfast tomorrow. Thanks for sharing!I think the first thing I had on the pureed diet was scrambled eggs for Breakfast.< /p>
Then later that day I REALLY wanted to try nonfat refried Beans, so I did. I even put a couple teaspoons of Daisy light sour cream on them. They were really good!
I believe I also had cottage cheese on the same day. It was okay. Not too keen on plain cottage cheese.< /p>

I can't find it either!

Thanks for sharing!Mushy peas and carrots is agreeable for me during the puree phase. It seems to be holding up in my stomach alright.
I've hurled previously mistakingly jumping the gun with a small bowl of pho (noodles, broth, soft tofu), those noodles went in and came running out of my system just the way they came. I'm happy to stick to purees if it means not hurting myself! Same thing happened with 2 oz of tuna salad that I think I ate a little too fast... I felt like bulimic person. Gross stuff.
So yeah back to just mushy peas and carrots, peas and cottage cheese (not sorry if that's a weird combo, savory to me), and Protein shakes, Jello, broth, yogurt, popsicles, propel, crystal light. All stuff in my kitchen.

I wasn't nervous until I woke up on my surgery day. I cried. I was scared! But I got dressed and went to the hospital. I had RNY on 12/21. My surgery went very well. No complications. I stayed overnight and was discharged the next day.
Keep walking, take your meds, and sip your Water....its your way to recovery!

I was off of work for 3 weeks. I needed every minute of it. I had RNY on 12/21. I go back on 1/11. My "big" incision is still uncomfortable at times. But I am ready.

I did buy some ricotta cheese! I think I am ready....just nervous on how my stomach is going to respond!I had a sleeve gastrectomy on the same day.
My first "pureed" meal was skim ricotta with salt, pepper, and unflavored Protein powder. YUM!
I tried scrambled eggs last night and my tummy was not happy; it felt like lumpy cement and made me nauseous.
My second meal was hummus with, you guessed it, unflavored Protein Powder.< /span>
Good luck, becky1178!

I am all about having an egg tomorrow, that's for sure! And I do have an avocado in the fridge....thank you for sharing!Yay! Puréed food is like heaven after being on liquids for so long lol! I started this past Friday and my first meal was scrambled eggs (chewed VERY well) or you could throw it in the food processor with a teaspoon of salsa and a thin slice of avocado!

I had RNY on 12/21. Came home 12/22. Went Christmas shopping 12/24. I think it depends on how you are feeling and when you are ready.

Yes! It went away for me. It seemed to happen overnight. I am 9 weeks post op GB. I am officially in the regular diet stage. Salmon is the only thing that i have tried so far that still gives me a problem. I will try again in a few weeks. Hang in there! It gets better and when it does, its amazing!
