  4. I must say this journey has not been nearly as bad as I had anticipated. Other than a bit of discomfort the few days following surgery I cannot really complain at all. I know it has only been 3 months but I am not having a problem eating what I am supposed to and staying away from junk. My menu is pretty basic consisting of hard boiled eggs, chicken, greek yogurt, cottage cheese and some nuts and fruit and vegetables here and there. Had my 3 month blood work done and everything looks good so i assume I am taking enough Vitamins (with Flintstone as my multi). For all of those that are just embarking on your journey don't sweat it listen to your doctor and stick to the plan like most things in life I truly think it is mind over matter. Now for the good stuff. I am 6' 5" started this journey at 346.5 day of surgery after 1 week liquid diet 330 this morning scale says 276. Seventy pounds gone in 13 weeks, I think a few days of discomfort was well worth it!!! About 40 more to goal which I am confident I can work off by years end!!

  6. You guys all make me feel a bit better. I have my pre op appointment on Monday and scheduled for surgery on the 13th. I am obsessed with research as well, I have read no less than 5 books. Still cannot believe this is going to happen. Excited to start my pre diet on Monday and get on with it. This too shall pass and I know in a few months their will be no looking back but just need to get to that point.

  14. Today marks my 180th day in the WLS program that BCBS demands for surgery approval. My BMI is 41 ish and I have high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I have blazed through all requirements and anxiously awaiting approval. I sure hope i hear something by weeks end. In talking to my WLS office today they said this is a pretty cut and dry case and BCBS is one of the easier carriers that they deal with. Please keep your fingers crossed!!!!
  15. Please keep us updated every couple days. I am hoping for mid June and getting pretty nervous myself.
