I had surgery on August 11th, and on my first pre op appointment I had lost 19 pounds!!! Woohoo!!! But tomorrow I will be 3 weeks out and I haven't lost ANYTHING else!! What's the deal!? It's hard for me to get my Protein and liquids in, but overall, I feel great, and I'm handling the puréed foods well.

Gina171, I'm feeling really good!! I went to Walmart for a bit today. I don't hurt anywhere, but my incision sites are itching like crazy and I am super sore, like someone rearranged my insides, lol!!!
I am having a hard time getting "enough" fluids in...I think I'm getting a little dehydrated. I don't want to end up back in the hospital on fluids, so I better step up my game tomorrow lol!

Yes!!! The third day (yesterday) was definitely the worst for me!! Just walk as much as you can! A heating pad right on that spot really helped me too!! I feel MUCH better this morning!!!!

@"gina171" My insurance swears they haven't received any paperwork from my surgeon...they sent it over on Friday. I'm so frustrated.

This is super scary for me. I have UHC and my surgeon sent info over for approval today. I am over 40 BMI with no comorbitities, but the plan clearly states that 40+ doesn't need a a comorbidity. I'm scared they will throw a curve ball at me right at the end and I will totally be devastated.

I went today for my dietitian visit and my psych evaluation!!! The dietitian was super sweet and very helpful...the psychologist...well he scared me a bit haha!! But I was super excited when he said at the end of the evaluation, "I'll be writing a favorable review for the doctor and the insurance company to proceed with surgery!" I am scheduled for my EGD on the 29th, and as soon as results come back from that, they'll submit to insurance!!! Super excited!!

So they required you to start the 6 months after you submitted the approval paperwork? Does your 6 months have to be with the surgeon? Obviously using my PCP is more affordable.
