  1. Six star whey protien plus (unflavored) has been a god send! Im 6 days out and was also having an awful time getting my protien. A friend had told me about it, and thank goodness I listened! Its reasonably priced... around $20 for a 2lb. Jug.

That's the powder I saw online. I want to try that to add to oatmeal and applesauce. Good to see a review! Thanks!

  2. I'm in love with unjury chocolate splendor and the chicken Soup flavored one. I am 5 days post op and drink 3 a day. 21 grams of Protein per serving, zero fat and 100 calories. For the chocolate one, I mix it with skim milk to bump up the Protein a little. So good. Highly recommend.

I been hearing alot about Unjury. The chicken soup flavor has been highly recommended. I'm definately going to try that one. Thanks for suggestion. Blessings on your journey.????

  3. Me too I 31/2 weeks cant get anything in, constipated, tired and have an awful headache.

Yesterday i had one bottle of Gatorade drank it through out the day thats all :(

I feel awful I don't know how to force my self to stick with s plan when I have no appetite what so ever ;)

I totally understand. For me it was the scary feeling I got after almost passing out in the shower. ???? That's when I kicked myself in gear. We have the will or we never would have done the surgery. Did you find any solutions for the Constipation? Felt that for the first time last night after my first day of puree.???? Went back on Protein and liquids. But energy is much better. Let me know and I will be praying for you as well! ????

  4. Hello. I'm 2 weeks post op today. I'm feeling you! It is so hard for me to get down my Protein. I drink Water, Soups ok. But there's no desire for it...really doing it cuz I know I have to. And force myself to drink the Protein. I have very little energy...somedays better than others. Showers are tough...by the end I feel I'm going to pass out. I much rather sleep than eat. The feeling faint kicked my butt in gear....I've set my alarm to schedule my meals and Snacks which is the protein. I've been much better with this approach....although somedays I'll dismiss my alarm because I can't open my eyes...but then I get right back on track when I wake. This app has been a friend for me knowing I'm not alone and what to expect. Thanks for listening!

Definitely not alone. It's a change that our bodies couldn't have been prepared for no matter how much prep we went through. I'm struggling quite a bit with it too. So tired. Ugh. Keep me updated on you and I will do the same.

Well the last couple days have been better. After scheduling my alarm. Then my cousin came over and literally watched me drink one more ounce then usual. It seems that was the motivation I needed. I been pushing myself each time to just drink one more ounce. It seems to be working. Hope that helps. ???? I know we can get through this! Will be praying for you too as I often do for myself lol!

  5. I'm two weeks today too, and really struggling with Protein intake. I've tried 7 different kinds :(

Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Sorry to hear that. I found it getting better the last 2 days. My cousin came and pushed me to drink more than I have been. It seems thats the motivation I needed. I been gradually adding an ounce more of the premier Protein shakes than before and now the taste is not so bad at all. I have been looking for a powdered Protein to add to my puree meals. I've gotten several suggestion here on BP. Just haven't felt well enough to go out and get it. I know we can get through this! I'll be praying for you as well! If you find any solutions please let me know. Blessings on your journey.

  6. I'm ending day 4 today and realize the only pain I have left now is located in the stomach organ area while walking, laying down and sitting up. It is a sharp pulling feeling.

Is this normal for sleeve patients?

Hi. I'm not a sleever. I'm on my 3rd week RNY. I had that same pain on the left side. It was painful first couple days. I decided to take my pain meds religiously every 4 hrs no matter what. Near the end of my bottle I would wean myself to only when It hurt. Now it only hurts when I'm up too long or in the morning when I wake but even that is rare. Hope that helps. Good luck and blessings to all on their journey.:)

  7. I have read a few comments here that reference not being able to drink carbonated drinks. Why is that? Not going to lie, carbonated drinks are one of me favorite things lol

Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

Hi. I'm on my 3rd week post op. I have had no problems with gas as of yet. But in nutrition class I believe they said the carbon would be painful. Also the caffeine from sodas and coffee could cause ulcers. I chose to stop soda and caffeine all together for that alone. Once I stopped drinking soda I dropped 10 lbs quickly. I loved soda! Once I started substituting with Water, well now my body craves Water. Hope that helps. Blessings to everyone on their journey. ;)

  8. Another one for the 20th!!

Anyone else having multiple personalities today? I sure am!

One minute im excited... next minute im scared.. next minute i wanna cancel and run... lol

I caught up with loved ones today.... i even gave a verbal will hahahahaha ... im crazy... yes lol

Lol! I'm 2 weeks post op and I did the same thing! Everything exactly the same! XD

Sent from my LG-H631 using the BariatricPal App

Yeah.. i am sure that my loved ones thought that i am going crazy lol

I am a little calmer today... i think it truly hit me last night.

This time tomorrow i will be a few hours out.. post op!

Im in Australia so its 1pm here.... not long to go!

How are you feeling now being 2 weeks post op.... any advice for a rookie?

There really is no pain just some soreness. The hardest part is head hunger. But I remind myself it's only temporary and I also always keep the next stage in mind to look forward to. There is no real hunger. It's also a struggle with the liquid diet....and not in the way you might think. It's difficult trying to get the required amount down. I started placing an alarm on my phone to remind me to drink Protein, eat Breakfast and so forth. That was the best approach for me. Feeling very tired. Just taking a shower made me feel like I ran a marathon. But making sure to take my Vitamins and stick to the plan I'm slowly getting better. I did the dishes for the first time today, but I think I'm gonna milk that with my 16 year olds xD! I'm feeling much like a newbie myself but the best advice I find helpful is to remind yourself why you did it and know that each phase is only temporary. Good luck and God bless your journey! ;D

  10. Hi everyone, I've already went through the process of being qualified for gastric sleeve surgery. Unfortunately I broke my humerus near my shoulder, so now it has delayed me in getting my surgery. My question is, I planning on scheduling my pre-op some time in June. So what should I do before hand to prepare myself for a new healthy way of life for myself? I'm some what overwhelmed, not sure what to buy, if I should get my body ready for weeks of liquid diet right now , or wait ? When should I start a journal ? What's the best Protein powder on the market ?

Hi! I'm 2 weeks post op. I know before surgery I was so afraid of what pain I might be feeling. I know everyone is different but I was walking the day after surgery.

2goldengirl said it well! Also just would like to add whatever weight you can lose now gets you that much closer to your goal weight! Hope you heal well and good luck on your journey!

  11. Hi everyone????. I'm 2 weeks post op today. I'm struggling meeting my daily requirement in Protein. Does anyone have any suggestions for unflavored powder Protein I can add to Soup or broth? Thank you all in advance!

P.S. So thankful for this forum. Great to see all the success stories and struggles. I'm not alone!????

I have been using Isopure in my coffee for pre opp diet. I don't taste it at all. No change in flavor or consistency to my coffee. I bet it's the same in soup. Give it a go!
