    Freedom Fighters Weekly Weigh In

    congrats!!!! That's an awesome WL!
  6. oh yeah, i totally had to do the liquid diet. 5 days pre-op of all liquids..AND it was over the 4th of July weekend! Oh yes...lol I actually was half on it for 2 weeks beforehand..my choice. I still had to lose 18 pounds or he wouldn't do surgery...so i ate one small meal and drank Carnation Instant Breakfast 2x/day..and it worked! (well i also did my 20 minute tae bo video every day too)....

Keep us posted on the actual date! I will say this and it's a bit graphic..even though you DON"T have to do the liquid diet, i would do it the day before surgery...the worst thing would be for you to vomit after surgery becaus the band has to heal, and with the anesthesia you just might...at least if you do all liquids the day before, there will be NOTHING in your stomach ..i know it sounds graphic, but i am thankful for it because i was so nauseas and if ANYTHING was in my stomach it would have come out on the nurse's heads (long story...lol)

  7. it's what I have! I just wanted to start a thread for those of us who have the same band  Barbie

    Anyone with 14CC band....

wow, every 2 weeks? I had my first fill last thursday and I dont go back until October 28th...2 months later...It's interesting how different each doctor is. I'm hoping that I'll still feel restriction until then, but I plan on calling if I don't....they told us to do that in some of the support meetings...

    Any good scar remedies?

voodoo is right..rosehip oil is in the natural skincare line that i use and it works wonders! If you want to try that line as well, you can get it at Sephora. It's called KORRES and the product you would want is the Wild Rose Oil pen... I've also used Mederma on other scars and they disappeared  HTH!

    Anyone with 14CC band....

KEVIN-->Goodluck! But, if you are getting sick, you might be too full! Call your doc because if you keep getting sick a few times a week, you can damage your esophagus and will then need a complete unfill, or even have the band removed...call your doc and keep us updated! Mellabella78--> was this your first fill? Just curious to see if your doc put in all 6 cc's the first time...mine did 5 this past thursday (my first fill) and i feel great! I get full so quickly and don't get hungry again for at least 4-5 hours :frown:

    First Fill Experiences

from what i've heard, it is. I guess it can take up to a week? I may be off on the timeline, but from what I've been reading lately you don't always feel it right away.

    Anyone with 14CC band....

How is everyone doing today? I got on the scale this AM..down 2lbs from yesterday and 3 from thursday (first fill)! I can eat only a little at a time and so far stay full for anywhere from 4-6 hours :frown: Hope everyone else is doing well!
  16. definately talk to your surgeon. You shouldn't be getting hungry soon after you eat. I had my first fill on this past thursday (and was banded on 7/7) and when he asked I told him the truth...that I could definately eat less at a time than before surgery but WAY more than I should...and I was getting VERY hungry very soon after eating...all of that means that you need a fill. You might only need a SMALL fill, but your doc will determine what's best after talking with you. And let him/her know about your concerns with being 'overfilled'...they'll make you drink a cup of Water after they give you the fill and if it's too much they'll take some out... Goodluck!
  17. hi! I was banded 7/7 and the gas was by far the WORST part of the whole surgery...it would just suddenly feel like i had a knife in my shoulder and it brought me to tears...and it lasted (on and off) for 3 weeks... I walked... a lot. I also did take the Gas-X strips and it did help...any relief of (or should i say RELEASE of) gas did help the pain in my shoulder... GOODLUCK! It will get better....

    Anyone with 14CC band....

I can definately feel the difference today. Right now I like how I feel...i have to eat slow and I can only eat a very small amount before I feel really full, but i'm happy! It means that the band is working and i am so happy about that! Now I have to go grocery shopping so i can make healthier choices...i was out of EVERYTHING today so even though i only ate a little, it wasn't the healthiest....only better from here!

    First Fill Experiences

I Just got my fill today...i'm exhausted from working (2 jobs today) so I don't remember if I already posted...if I did, just stop reading here..lol If not, it really wasn't bad! I'm terrified of needles and this was just a little uncomfortable..i HATE when people say that, but it's true  I have 5cc's in a 14cc band...didn't feel much of anything but now that it's been almost 12 hours, i feel it getting tighter..WOOHOO! :crying:

    Anyone with 14CC band....

yay! I'm so glad you all posted! I was banded 7/7/09 and today was my first fill...i have 5cc's! How's the restriction feel for you all? I know it's different person to person and I see that some of you have had 2-3 fills before getting this many...i'm hoping that this is good restriction for awhile for me... Also, how did you all feel the same day as the fill? When did you start feeling different? I'm just trying to gauge how i'm feeling. WHen I drank the Water in the office i noticed that it went down slower...not much, but a little different feeling. Now that it's been a few hours (10 to be exact) I'm starting to feel tighter...and i'm excited about that! Looking forward to hearing lots of responses here! :crying:
  22. needle was the same as the pic...and it wasn't bad at all! Can't quite bring myself to say that it hurt..because it didn't. It was a little uncomfortable and pinched for a minute, but that was it!

    So now I have 5cc's in a 14cc band... :)
