Where can I meet a good guy?

Match.com! I have lost almost 100lbs, feel so confident & ready to date, but just moved to a big city where all I was told was how hard it is to meet guys (very touristy)....so after years of friend trying to get me online, which I thought was crap, I finally have in & signed up....started taking to a few guys just hours later but ine really stood out...we clicked so well, talked for a week, went it on a tuesday for one game of pool...that turned into 4 games, 2 drinks, & dinner....and a date the following 2 nights...we've been dating for a month and its AMAZING!!!!!!!! Can't believe I'm saying this but match.com WORKS And yes, I chose it because I know lots of ppl who are married or engaged, and thet all met on match

Dating, after MANY years off the market, and sex

i just had this happen to me a few weeks ago....stayed off the market just for my own reasons...now i'm 2 years post op, moved to a new city (and state) and met someone who i click with SO WELL...and pretty much immediately....so not only did i have to get used to him thinking im HOT (yes, he thinks i'm hot..and he likes my ass...lmao i'm SO not used to that...i was always the 'girl with such a pretty face"), but we fooled around after only a few dates...i remember calling my cousin to ask her how to get over my body issues, but the date happened before i talked to her..and you know what? He didn't seem to mind one single bit. Sorry if this is TMI for anyone...but that night we actually slept all snuggled up....completely naked (omg still can't believe i was comfortable with that)....BODY ISSUES OVER...really quick. Do i still have them? Sure..you're going to for awhile...but i just keep telling myself, if HE doesns't care, why should i? Try not to stress about it too much....i'm WORKING on that now...but really, if when it happens he doesn't seem to be phased by it, you shouldn't either!

Shapewear...should I wear it every day?

i wear the slimming tanks every single day. Best (and cheapest...so bonus!!) are from Wal Mart....they're called Secret nothings?? Something like that. They just look like a regular tank..like the longer ones that everyone is wearing under basically everything now a days....but the whole torso is a thicker material that just smooths you out..they're RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING. Now, i do take them off when i get home...but anytime i'm leaving the house, it goes on...looks cute under shirts & can be dressy or casual. I LOVE them....they smooth out the back and muffin top...just sayin....
  5. omg that's EXACTLY what i was going thru yesterday/last night....it SUCKS....but yeah, pms = reflux....bonus is that i DO always lose a few lbs...lol

    Ahem...very personal :)

Can't believe I AM saying this...but i AGREE!!! It kinda makes me feel powerful to know that I DID THAT...lol you know?Like...oh hell yeah...that's alllll because of me...yep...
  7. I hate to say it, but they deflate My cup size didtn't change because the skin is still there...but ewww...lol I went from a 44DDD to a 38DDD...almost a 36 at this point. So still geting bras at LB because I can't get a DDD at VS....they look AMAZING in clothes! So i love that...but out of them...yikes. I DEFINATELY want to have them done. I've always had a great rack...and i still want them! I'm looking into having my arms done and having a breast lift/implants. I just want them full again....not flat....they COULD be worse, so i know it's not as bad as i've seen on others...but still..i like big boobs.....justsayin...ha!
  8. after having the stomach bug last november i had to have a HUGE unfill...for 2 weeks..and SLOWLY get filled again. Having a stomach bug irritates your stomach/band and you need to give it time to calm itself down. Even with the unfill, do liquids/mushies, expect to only eat a small amount....you'll be ok!!!!
  9. Lovelyaskanbe, 70 is fantastic! I used to think the same way, but believe me when I tell you that when you start thinking differently you will FEEL so much better! I'm down 70 too and for awhile u was very down on myself.i also did not exercise afdc close to how I should have..... but think of it this way...until your surgery, when was the last time you were able to lose a big amount of weight and KEEP IT OFF? also, we're so much healthier now! i've actually had 2 unfills now...the first one nkot by choice and the second one BY CHOICE.....i know my body and my band beyer than ever... I hope that with this new fill you get added success!
  10. Just checking in! We're closing in on our 2 YEAR MARK...can't believe it!!! How is everyone doing? -I'm finally in ONEderland!!!!!!!! -I'm OUT of Lane Bryant/Torrid ..ie any "womens" sections or stores...WOOOOOOOOOOOO! -I'm feeling SEXY and actually getting checked out at the gym..what? LOL -I've had an unfill (by choice AND i've still been losing easily) and I actually think i'm going to get another small one... -I LOVE exercising!!!!!! FIll me in bandsters! **i'm posting this here AND in the other boards***
  11. I'm 2 years post op this July....I've been coughing lately (yes i know it's cold season and i've definately had one)...but can being too tight cause coughing? Just thought I'd get some opinions on here before I ask my doc...
  12. As of March 30th 2011, I HAVE ARRIVED OFFICIALLY IN ONEDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My scale has always been 5lbs MORE here than at the doctor's office (go figure, it's usually the opposite!), so i've actually been in onederland for a few week...but my scale actually started with a "1" the other morning...what an amazing moment to finally see! I'm happy to join those of you who have already made it to ONEderland....and cant' wait to welcome those of you who are almost there
  13. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this..(at any stage...i'm almost 2 years post op..still can't believe it!)...it's not good to eat too late anyways (we all know this)..but i found now that i'm tighter/at my sweet spot, that i physically CAN"T eat late at night...like after 10pm....it will come up, guaranteed.

    Coughing?

awww crap...i had a feeling. Well I was going to go in and ask for a small unfill anyway...guess i definately should now...thanks!
  15. that is amazing!! Congrats! I definately slacked on my exercise the first year so it came off slower...but i see such a difference now and it's coming off so easily now...i'm loving it

    Too tight?

Honestly at restaruants I just go for food that i KNOW i can eat...soup, salad, mashed potatoes...things like that! I love salads anyways so that's not an issue for me.... I don't try to eat something that i'm not sure about unless I'm home...just in case....even at almost 2 years out, some foods can trick you...you try it...seems to go down just fine....and 20 minutes late, not so much

    Discouraged

Yetta2u- don't get discouraged! It will come off...were you just banded this past december (2010)? It definately takes awhile...and you will be suprised at how you will KNOW what your band needs....let me explain... here's my journey so far..... .i was banded in july 2009 and i lost about 25 right away...then stayed there until my 6th fill! I started having good restriction around April 2010 which put me at 9.5cc's in a 14cc band...my sweet spot...and didn't need another fill until september and went up to 10.5cc;'s...then i actually needed an unfill due to a stomach bug..went all the way back down to 7.5cc, and let me tell you, you remember VERY QUICKLY why you have the band. I was so hungry instantly after the unfill, could drink WHILE eating..it was not good...so after taking tests to make sure everything was ok and my stomach lining was not inflamed anymore, i went back up to 10cc's and at my last visit, i CHOSE to take more out...and now i'm back at 9.5cc's, still losing VERY easily. I'm FINALLY in ONEderland, i'm coming to terms with how i REALLY look and what size clothing i'm REALLY in (cant' shop in the "womans" department anymore..wooo!)....i'm actually thinking about having my doc take another .25cc's out...i think i'll still be good and more comfortable. And if you had told me that i'd EVER want to take Fluid out, i would have told you that you were crazy. But as you are further post op, you WILL LEARN what you need And another idea is for you to watch your INCHES! Inches will come off faster than pounds...you'll notice your clothes getting looser, things like that...it was discouraging for awhile, but the BIGGEST benefit of having the band INSTEAD of bypass? IT"S ADJUSTABLE! If you had chosed bypass and were fully healed and gaining, you'd be S.O.L....but with a band you can go get an adjustment and help yourself more... Ok i've rabmled on quite a bit...my point is that although it's slower at first, you WILL see results...i didn't want to hear about being patient, but it's the truth. Just try to be grateful for what you've already lost, how much healthier you've already become, and know that it is a process and it IS happening! Find an exercise routine you love and you'll see results faster...goodluck!
  18. SF2009- it's acually about 9-9:30pm for me too! I've been tod that your band can be tighter normally at night/early in the morning....i knew i wasn't the ONLY one, but its nice to hear it for sure. There have been a FEW occasions where it was ok...but not many. Sometimes I'm at work until 10pm so it's either eat when i get home or be hungry, which guarantees a problem too... Honk- i understand what the nutritionist is saying, however for me that includes healthy food. I don't eat fast foods anymore and physically can't eat pizza...so even my go-to food that is filling, healthy but also pretty much a slider food (SALAD!!!!) will come up if i eat it too late.... loserbob- being almost 2 years out now, i am JUST getting into a good workout routine. I've lost 70lbs without much working out at all...i did it in spurts for the longest time but NOW i'm enjoying it again. You'll get there! Don't do the whole "if i had worked out sooner, i would have lost more by now"...i did that for a LONG time...only makes you feel bad. Now if i say it, it's in a matter-of-fact way and i'm not upset by it

NSV ~ No longer a PLUS size!!!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!! My head is trying to catch up to my body...i keep looking in stores going "nothing in there will fit"....yet nothing in Lane Bryant (other than the bras) fit anymore...and I bought a dress from The Limited to go out in Los Angeles in...it was an XL which is a 16...and i bought a shirt from NYandCo...and i'm wearing a cute jacket that's 14....i see the tags but my head doesn't register that i'm REALLY that small....lol but it's such a good feeling! I need to get balls to actually TRY ON "regular size" clothes in a "regular" store....

    Too tight?

yep, totally normal to NOT be able to eat chickn...only occasionally can I eat it, and it has to be either in a salad (with lots of dressing) or as chicken salad (basically slathered in mayo)...there are LOTS of things i can't eat anymore, which from what i've read are quite common: Chicken Beef Bread raw veggis (so sad..i LOVED to snack on them..now only cooked) most chips (if i have any, no more than a handful) chocolate I went thru phases where things bothered me (like ANY dairy) but they don't anymore. And you'll definately have days where you eat something you've had no problems with and suddenly that day your band is like "OH HELL NO..you're not eating this"....lol You'll figure it all out

    17 months post op

  22. Last friday I got an unfill due to inflamation from a stomach bug. I go tomorrow for my barium swallow to make sure everything is ok, but in the past two days, I've been getting gas pain in my shoulder...haven't felt that since surgery. Has this happened to anyone else??
  23. In april I was up to 9.5cc's....and I was good until this september and he put me up to 10.5! I thought that sounded high but it is my sweet spot! I can only eat very small amounts, i'm NEVER hungry, and I don't even think about eating for a good 4-5 hours.... However, I had a stomach bug last week and had to have an unfill due to inflamation...now i'm back to 7.5cc's (which i havent been here since this time LAST year) and it's scary! I was almost instantly hungry again and i can eat lots of things that I couldn't eat before. Next thursday (12/23) I go back to get filled up again...but probably only to 10.25, which I'm ok with....can't wait to get back up there so that I can get back to being ME again...

    Questions about Gas after fill

i was just wondering ALMOST the same thing...past few days started feeling the gas pain in my shoulder, just like after surgery..but last week i had an UNFILL...hmmm
  25. barbie1978

    Unfill :(

Thanks for that! I know I'll be ok and I'm already up 1...which is not too bad considering it's been almost a week so I'm grateful it's not more..and i'm focused on stayng..well focused on eating only when i'm hungry, only eating small amounts, and staying away from just crap...lol Barium swallow friday..and fill next thursday...YES! One question tho..did you notice when you got the unfill that you were a little tender after eating? The first two days after the unfill my stomach/band would be sore about a half hour after eating...i compared it to a tight fitted sock...you know, when the ankle band of the sock is too tight, leaves a mark, and when you finally take the sock off, its sore? Even though it didn't hurt beforehand? I don't even know ifthat makes sense to anyone but me...but either way, it's much better now
