I just got the call from my PCP office. My A1C is normal. It was is the 9 range 2 yrs. ago and it was lowered due to being on four medications. Now it's normal. I'm at the high range of normal (5.6) and I'll take it. The biggest reason I had surgery was to get off the medications. Just happy!

Thank you @Wax_Poetic. Excellent work dropping 17 lbs. so far. I found out adding Crystal Lite can help increase Water consumption.

The left side is where the majority of the surgery happens which is why it's so sore. When did you have surgery? It took about 3 weeks for me before it felt normal again.

@@DRKExpressions Check with your doctor's office. You may be able to use Miralax or Benefiber on a daily basis to help. The numbers typically stand for highest weight, surgical weight, and current weight.

Hey @ Diamndgrl @ L. Knight Surgery went well. Very little pain. I always wake up a little out of it from anesthesia. I start the soft food stage today. I'm getting in my liquids. Protein has been a struggle since I'm lactose intolerant now. I think I will try an Isopure Protein Drink. Weight loss is averaging 3-5 lbs. a week.

Thank you. I appreciate it. I've been trying to consume a 10 calorie pack of Jello for two days. I think today I will be finished with it. Just an example of what it is like on day 2 post op. Water is going well. I think I will get in at least 60 oz. today. Meds are done for the day except another dose of Omeprazole. I also need to go by my local pharmacy so I can get help with the Lovenox shots. I bent the needle yesterday before use. FYI...don't take an Oxy and try to watch a video. Epic fail for me.

I made it. Surgery went well. A little sore but otherwise feeling ok. Feels like I've done 1000 sit-ups. I didn't sleep well last night but hopefully I'll make up for it tonight.

He's just going to pick me up on Monday morning. It limits my exposure. I feel better about it.

I called the nurse and she said it wasn't a concern at all. I may just spend the night at my house to limit the exposure and he pick me up the morning of surgery.

My brother is taking me to surgery on Monday 8/1. The plan was for me to spend the night at his house on Sunday since he lives so close to surgical center.
I called him yesterday and he has a cold. It kept him home from work.
Now I'm wondering if I should look for another ride. I don't want to be recovering from RNY and fighting a cold as well.
Am I overthinking this? I wouldn't care any other time, but I want this recovery to be as smooth as possible.

@@Shrinkinqtpi I've been using OTC sleep aids. NyQuil ZZZZ helps me. I suffer from allergies as well so I take Benadryl when I need to. I've heard lavender essential oils are supposed to help as well.

@@dpressleymsn You can do it. You can take liquid Tylenol to help with the headaches.

I started the 1 week liquid diet on Monday. 4 Protein Shakes, chicken broth, sugar free Jello, and Water. Monday was rough but the other days haven't been bad at all. Congrats on doing one even though it isn't required. Helps you prepare for it.

How long is your pre op diet? You can do it. It will seem like a dream after surgery and getting back to real food.

Good luck on any procedure you decide to have. All we can do is provide opinions, but do what is in your best interest. I'm revising from lapband to RNY. 1)I'm type 2 diabetic and RNY has a proven track record with either reducing or eliminating medications to help control it. The sleeve is showing great data as well, but my doctor agrees RNY is the best option for me. 2) I'm older so the quicker the weight loss the better.

Hello. August 1 for me. Lapband was removed on April 25th. Doctor makes you wait 3 months before revision to RNY. What are you doing to get ready?
