    Can't get my protein in..

Thank for this cause I had my surgery Tuesday and I'm hating these Protein drinks I got about 15 grams of protein yesterday I will try this Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App I swear by Genepro Unflavored. I put it in my hot tea 3 times a day. 90 grams protien quick and easy. It's not clumpy ( keep temp under 140) no taste no smell. It makes it look milky but I love it. I couldn't drink any powdered or prepared shakes. It caused terrible cramps, diaherra vomiting. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    Hair loss

Make your protien goals. I take a hair skin and nails Vitamin. Honestly I don't know if it works but I take them. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  4. It's a fairly common malady from understanding. Most people don't even know they have it until they go for an egd Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  5. Wow, most of my fall/winter clothes are too loose to wear! So almost 2/3 will be heading for donation. Looks like I will be going to the resale shop soon. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    What to eat

Personally I would keep with the most unprocessed foods as much as possible. Protien first, then veggies then starches. In a bind, look for low carb low sodium frozen. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    No protein

Follow what your dietician says. I know in my first week even though my Surgeon wanted 60-80 grams of protien. My body wasn't ready. I took sips of protien waters but I worked on fluids more. Slowly you should feel better digesting things and build up what you can tolerate. Hang in there it will be better. I will be 3 weeks out on Monday. First 10 days sucked. I also had an infection in my neck and head lymphnodes which sucked even more. Good luck Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    Protein making me sick

GENEPRO unflavored mixes very well in beverages. I use it in hot tea. Just make sure the temperature is under 140 or it gets nasty clumpy Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  11. My problem is flavored protien shakes. I am using GENEPRO unflavored in hot tea ( temp has to be under 140 or the powder curdles into a rubbery chunk) and I have no problems. You can also try protien waters like protien2O or Atkins Lift Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App I also can't process artificial sweeteners and things like stevia Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    Augh a non answer

Okay after my irritation settled. I reread the Email and there were a few suggestions. It just wasn't what I was asking. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App I also have unflavored GENEPRO so far so good Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  19. So I asked my nut some questions about finding alternative ways to get my protien in. I told him about not being able to drink the shakes and milk and not being able to use artificial sweeteners. I've read the response several times. It basically said it might not be lactose intolerance and it might not be sensitivity to the artificial sweeteners. The shakes are vital to loosing the weight. That's it. Oh and try almond milk with a powder protien. This is the 2nd time I had a non answer. All the nurses, coordinators, people in support group say this nut is amazing and helps work through things like this. I get nada. Maybe its because I'm not in the office and they can't Bill for this. I'm not supposed to see the nut for another 4 weeks. Getting in takes 3 weeks so,at this point 4 weeks is fine. Augh. I'm at a loss. I guess I will figure this out myself. But on a positive side, I have lost a good bit of weight. I feel better. I'm healing well. I am trying to keep positive but this can be frustrating at times like this. Does any one have any thoughts suggestions or reliable resources on finding my way through this hurdle? Thank you in advance Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

    Gained weight

I don't even own a scale because I would be too obsessed with it. I know I am loosing because I went from 2xl tops to large and 2xl pants to xl pants. My over the shoulder boulder holders don't fit either. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App Plus my 2 week surgeon visit I was weighted.. lol Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  23. I stopped my diabetes meds 2 weeks before surgery but obviously monitor the bs. I average 130 since then. Prior to surgery my A1C dropped to 5.8. If my A1C is higher after 3 months post surgery, I will go back on it for awhile. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  24. Okay I drank milk a few days ago about 1 hour afterwards I had mild stomach/intestinal pains. Thought it was just normal gas post surgery. Had eggs the next day and they did not sit well at all, intestinal pain. Drank a premiere Protein shake tonight for the first time post op And let's just say pain was horrendous and bipolar expulsion was the worst I've had in recent memory. So I am thinking milk and dairy at the moment is not my friend. My plan, and literature, says it can happen. Anybody else run into this issue? Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

@@Babs shakes leading up to last night's vomiting and diaherra caused stomach cramps and intestinal discomfort. I've tried Quest, GNC vanilla, unflavored premier protien. I just ordered GENEPRO. I've tried several others from sample packs both pre and post op. Pre op I was able to drink premier ready made gnc powders and quest powders. Now I am at a loss. I'm trying to find sample packages so I don't blow $ 20-50 on crappie I can't drink. I'm hoping the genepro will be something I can put in my drinks/food and tolerate. At this point taste is secondary or tertiary. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
