    Pjtp...again!

If anybody could pull that off, you could, tap. I say give it a try. Just show up somewhere and start barking orders. If somebody questions you, just say you're from the home office. Are you serious? How does she not "get" that? Wow, I hope she's as successful as you've been!! What a great role model! Technically, landseers ARE Newfs....but some Newf people don't really accept them. Plus, every couple of generations, 'seers have to be bred back to "pure" Newfs or they stop looking less and less like a newf. Is that clear as mud? lol I'll try to do that tonight! Wow! That looks like an abandonded house! You've made brilliant progress...

    Pjtp...again!

I saw that! No Dane, that's pure Landseer, baby! While I prefer my Newfs in the more "pure" traditional colors, some folks are crazy about the 'seer. My Newf Tug may not be as tall (at the shoulder), but he is clearly heavier, and I'll wager nearly as long (snout to tail). I'll try to measure him snout-to-tail tomorrow while he's sleeping.....because when he's not asleep, he keeps rolling over to get his belly scratched at my approach.

President Obama With a Lightsaber [Pic]

You know....I don't support most of President Obama's policies.....but I like pics like this. IMO, it "humanizes" him more, and makes me like him more (I don't think I'll be liking those policies any more anytime soon, though).

    Pjtp...again!

I echo the sentiment of others.....tough call. From subsequent posts, it seems like maybe you are not "sold" on the new location as much as you're wanting out of your rut. Is this an accurate assessment? Because it seems to me that this situation calls for either compromise, or.....something more drastic and unilateral?

    Banded in Mexico....

Hi Christina. Here's a good place to start: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f11/researching-mexican-lap-band-surgeons-101-a-66635/ Good luck!
  6. Depends on the type of test. I occasionally indulge.....if the insurance was testing, say, a hair follicle, then I guess I'd quit. If the test was a simple urinalysis, I'd take my chances (since I smoke so infrequently). I know that your question is simply to advance the debate...but I can't see how any insurance company in real life could justify the costs of post-op marijuana testing without some studies showing that pot usage is directly causal to band failure / weight retention.
  7. Hi Van. What helped me stay on the preop diet was the knowledge that the reason for the diet was to make my procedure more safe. And......I'm not going to lie, once the weight started dropping, I was pumped to have a pre-existing weightloss to "slingshot" me into banded life. It's difficult, but you can totally do it. Because if I can do it, ANYbody can. Hang in there!!!

    One step closer!! =)

Hi corinne. Making your way through all the red tape certainly sucks, and being on the pre-op diet during Thanksgiving would really suck. But both things are *still* better than being miserable with your weight and not being able to affect it much. Being banded is totally worth (IMO) all the bullcrap we have to go through to get it. Hang in there!

    Pjtp...again!

I've been sleeping!! Pug / Beagle cross. The are built like pugs, but have a "snout". Very cute, very lovey, very lazy dogs. Our puggle is a snuggler. She sleeps with the family during the night, and then when I come in from work she sleeps w/ me during the day. Google images of puggles and you'll fall in love. OMG!! He's waaaaaaaay too big to get his big ass on the bed, lol.
  10. Personal attacks are against the rules. Please refrain from using them.
  11. Hi Tia. You might have better luck if you check out the "doctors and hospitals" subforum on the homepage. Here in the general section, questions get pushed down pretty quick, lol. Good luck!
  12. Hang in there neesh. The pre-op is rough, but you can do it.

    New Here

Hi there Quyrah. There is a section on the homepage specific to "sleeves" where you can get some more info. However, if you click on the hyperlink (the blue word that says sleeve) it will take you to sleevetalk, a kind of a sister site to this one. If you're thinking about the sleeve, you might want to check them out. Good luck with whatever you choose.

    Pjtp...again!

Howdy! Wow! That is the number one movie on my must-see list. It's supposed to be a low-budget indie in the vein of "The Blair Witch Project". This movie has quite the cult following!! Gah!! I wanna see this movie!! Me tooo! Except when I wake up, there's an obese puggle crowding me! I'll second that emotion.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Post in either, or both. The two aren't mutually exclusive or anything (people say the same thing about me and "being cool"). Very nice pics, Fanny!

    Memphis TN

Hi Shelley. You might have better luck finding somebody local by looking in the "local support groups" forum on the main page. Likewise, in the "doctors and hospitals" forum, you'll probably have a better chance of finding somebody else banded by Dr. Weaver.
  17. Counting everything (office fees, anesthesia, doc fees, etc.) I had to pay out about $3,000.

    Starting my journey!

Hi Suzy, welcome to lapbandtalk. You are a brave, proactive soul to undertake the pre-op diet before you have to, lol. Good for you. I have my fingers crossed that your process will be speedy. Good luck!

I hate it when people post just to post.....

My bodyfat% certainly needs some reform. I'm still losing weight, but I need to be lean, dammit!! Shush! Nobody out-conservatives me. Maybe one, but we don't say the name in this thread, remember?

Oh, I totally understand her wanting to let it go. Her life must have been relatively quiet for many years and now.....all the troubles anew. However, that's a separate issue. Polanski already pled guilty and fled, avoiding at least some of his punishment. My issue is "why is Hollywood closing ranks around this guy"? He hasn't even had a revelant film in decades. IDK......
  22. That's great news, Linda. Take care, rest up like you should and focus on healing for the next few days. Now the real work starts!!
  23. Hi Nikki, welcome aboard. You might have better luck finding a doc in your specific area if you look in the "doctors and hospitals" subforum on the main page. Also, you might look in the "local support groups" subforum. If you find a group local to you, then maybe you can ask some of them if they can recommend somebody. Is that as clear as mud? lol. Anyway, good luck to ya!!

You're probably distracted by your cool NSV. Be careful!! Tight = dangerous (IMO).
