Sorry to interrupt this thread with the following message: Best. Thread. Ever. That is all. -
I think maybe something was lost in the translation?

Surgery date Set For January 30th
plain replied to mamame's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi mamame. How exciting that you'll soon be banded! The pre-op diet is pretty important.....it helped me to know that the whole reason they put us on the pre-op diet is to shrink our livers, ultimately making it a safer surgery for us. It is a pain to get through, but you can do it! How do I know? Because I did it......and if I did it, anybody can. -
Hi there benajchase. There is a section here that is divided into geographical areas. You might get more answers if you post your question there. Welcome aboard!

Should prostitution be legal?
plain replied to Carrie_C's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Her's the backstory: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f80/lapband-deceit-bullsh-t-74824/index4.html You might have to read a couple of pages to get to where Dr.Stan calls me........Fluoride Dope. Maybe I'm a little cynical, but even if there were a global religion, I think there would still be wars. Human nature, and all that. Also, as a Christian, I understand what Patty was trying to say at the start of the thread. I don't agree with her presentation....I think Steve Goad's insights there were particularly astute.....but I see her point (debateable as it may be). -
Dammit!! I think I's been insulted!!

Quit being so mean!!

Beth, I think we both know you liked it. I think most cheat some, but that double-double thread appalled me. Really, I wonder if different MRI's hold different capacities? Ours will go to 325. I wonder if they'll take my personal check? Wow....Leslie is a vagina nazi. A world where ladies don't feel free to show off their vaginas, well, that's a cruel world indeed. Perhaps she just had her pubic hair professionally coiffed and wanted some compliments? Although you'd think the high humidity of a sauna would not be kind.....unless she used an extremely competant hair spray. Ooops, and here I was talking about pubic hairspray. Sorry Granny. I think she'll be the life of the party. They're businesslike, tolerable people over there. Not like the hooligans we have. Several posts have explained this, but "Bless your heart" can be heartfelt. More often, the theory is that you can say anything if "bless your heart" is included in the phrase, and the person can't get angry. Example: "Now that is the ugliest baby I have ever seen, bless his heart" It's the same thing by inserting LOL in an online conversation. "Man, you are an idiot and your breath smells like my septic tank. LOL" I don't see it. Texas is so big that the culture varies by region. From central to northeast Texas, the culture (and the speech patterns) is very "deep south" Georgia. Central Texas is very unique in that it is german and mexican cultures, all blended together. West Texas is waaaaaay more "western" like New Mexico, Arizona, etc. From central to South Texas, Mexican culture dominates. Just my experiences from travels over the state, so take it w/ a grain o' salt.

Fanny, I've decided that I'm going to take my "mo skin" photos at my one year bandiversary. That's Feb. 22nd.....so give me until then. I'm thinking that I might PM or Email whoever wants to see. That way, I'm hitting a happy medium between full disclosure and foisting unwanted pics on innocent bystanders, LOL.....I don't expect them to be pretty. I'm still unsure about posting anything "in public" on here.

A VERY strange (possibly offensive) question. ***read at your own risk...***
plain replied to Weas123's topic in The Gals' Room
Ok, I've said it before, but I'll say it again: God Bless all you wonderful ladies, LOL. -
I can only dream of being Obi Wan......or his master Qui-Gon Jinn. Yep, I'm a Star Wars geek.

Basically, I'm kind of an idiot. And my brethren and I have lots of time on our collective hands to come up with stuff like this.* *Ok, so my wife is actually a pretty good photographer, and she took a series of pics kinda like this around a campfire, playing around with different parts of my face shadowed by my hoodie and the fire. Artsy stuff. I liked some of the poses, so I just snapped a replication on my cheapy-o webcam, because she hadn't uploaded her pics from her camera.

Should prostitution be legal?
plain replied to Carrie_C's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Agreed. Let's find the OP and stone her. And by that, I mean I'll invite her to my parents' basement, put on some Portishead, and let the magic begin. -
It comes and goes for me. Man, do I feel your pain there! Allright! Broadcasting from the L&D! *Fingers crossed* Hello. My name is Trey and I'm a meat eater. Assuming you are 1) Not eating too fast 2) chewing very thoroughly 3) not eating too much, then yes, sounds like maybe you need a bit of an unfill. Heehee....Slim said "petulant". I love that word. LOL........What's a "Nazi" face? This is blasphemy! BLASPHEMY, I say! I'm afraid I'd have an unknown birthmark in an awkward shape.....that'd be my luck Sorry. I just got carried away.

Ate a burger two days after surgery
plain replied to tripi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there anngied. In general, you'll get more answers to your question if you use the "start a new thread" button instead of hiding it in an already existing thread. Having said that, it's good for you to get up and move. Walk, walk walk. It will help with your recovery. Don't be lifting anything heavy (don't want to pull those stitches), but pretty much any movement is good for you. Let your body be your guide. If it hurts a lot, quit doing it. If there is any question as to whether a movement is ok, call your doc's office. Good luck! -
But lil'froggy......you are a superstar! Look at your numbers! You freakin' rock! I'm not totally clear on the nature of the gig, but usually these things are not much more than a pep -rally "I did it, so can you" inspirational type of affair.....so I would go for it if I were you. If anybody asks any heavy nutritional advice, you can always punt the question away with a "That would probably be a better question for our professional". Go for it. Maybe you can inspire some people that really need some inspiration.

New and already starting crap...
plain replied to pretty.potato's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi there tater (heehee, J/K). I'm assuming that by "rubbing people the wrong way" you're referring to that "I ate a burger" thread? If so, forget about it!! People on here can usually agree to disagree and move on.....So welcome to Lapbandtalk! I think it's great that you're already diving in and posting. Let your voice be heard, and don't be afraid to ask questions. -
I can't blend it, can I?
plain replied to kaytiebugs's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Kaytiebugs. I know it sucks to be the cook for the family and have to be on the liquid diet. However, remember the purpose of the preop diet: to shrink your liver, making your surgery safer. I think "better safe than sorry". Try to follow as closely as you can to your doc's instructions for the preop diet. It's only for a little while, and you can do it!!
