Should prostitution be legal?
plain replied to Carrie_C's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey, I gots a boat....maybe something can be worked out.... *creepy laughter and the sound of hands being rubbed evilly together ensues -
Hey terri, I'm pretty conservative, and agree with the post. I didn't vote for Obama....but I do have to say that he made a pretty good point when he said (regarding all the recent negative press about all the "pork" that was in the "stimulus" bill) that the same people who are crying pork now had their chance for the previous 8 years and blew it. He's right.....the republicans dropped the ball. That doesn't mean that I believe for 1 second that we can spend our way out of this mess.....but I did have to give our new prez his due.

Sorry granddad.....I realize you need that Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, but the family feels that surgery is unnatural
-
Unreal.....And who is the judge that allowed this travesty of a lawsuit to proceed?!?

Fill Centers USA ... problems and questions
plain replied to delrio's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Eh, you know.....we're just one big family here. Maybe the family is a little dysfunctional, but most of us mean well enough. BTW, my place in the family is the creepy uncle that hugs a little too long and always wants somebody to sit on his lap. -
Hi there, Oceannites. Welcome to lapbandtalk. There's a lot of information to be digested here, so pull up a chair and take a look around!!

WHy didn't anyone tell me....????
plain replied to NoPBJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dude....c'mon now....seriously....did you think the band was powered by devil's magic? If your doc didn't tell you that the band was just a tool and you'd have to do your part too, then you, sir, had a crappy doctor. I'd kick him in the junk if he didn't explain how the band works Everybody should follow this link and read these posts.....these are either the stupidest people ever, or (as I suspect) they are the most misinformed people ever. I tend to blame their aftercare docs. Almost every one of them is too tight, they all tell almost the same story, have the same symptoms, and yet not a single one of them is able to connect the dots as to what's going on. Sheesh. Now I <heart> my doc more than ever......Thank you, Dr. Hekier Abso - freakin'- lutely.... -

Hell's Yes!! -
Heehee....."clown car" still cracks me up
-
I hear ya. I was really eager to resume workouts post-op, too. I know it's difficult, but be patient....now's the time for your band to "heal in". Better safe than sorry, eh?

Newbie with some Questions
plain replied to stacy0830's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Stacy....I'd think that if your doc documented your monthly weight. then that would satisfy all of the above. However, I'm not an insurance expert, and I secretly think all insurances look to deny everything if they can, lol. Good luck!! -
Cool...If you are ready, then I wish you all the best. Keep us posted on how everything goes!

Ok, caffyphu....this is probably going to seem a little weird coming from a happy bandster, but.....you might want to think things through a little more. It sounds (and I could be way off on this) like you came to a decision to go with the band pretty suddenly. Snap judgements are never a good thing when deciding which weightloss surgery to go with. I'm not trying to dissuade you....I'm just urging you to maybe think it over very carefully, do more homework, and then make a decision. Also, the band really doesn't do a whole lot for emotional eaters. Again, I'm not saying that emotional eaters can't have success with the band.....but's something that needs to be considered. Whatever you decide to go with, I wish you very good luck!!

BG, we don't talk about our personal "bedroom" behavior in this forum. Thanks. Tap, what are you implying? Bwahahaha So....you are the right hand that doesn't know what the left hand is doing? That's the management model of my hospital. Those are some oddly specific answers!

Here's a few on my iPOD that pump me up. Uh, BTW, some of these are pretty filthy songs, so.....keep that in mind. Pigeonhed - Battleflag Prodigy - Smack my bitch up Peaches - F*ck the pain away The Crystal Method - Name of the game Paul Oakenfold - Starry eyed surprise Methods of Mayhem - Get Naked Rage against the Machine - Killing in the name of Dirty Vegas - Days go by Nine Inch Nails - Head like a hole

Why in the hell are you up at this hour?!?

plain replied to MADE IT 2 MY GOAL..OH YEAH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, ya had a bad day....It sounds like you realize it, and are determined not to let it happen again. So, start over tomorrow. You can do it!! -
Why the need to test it?
plain replied to CountryGirlNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hahahaha! Kiz, you rock! I agree 1000%.....A wise old bandster once told me that most of us (banded folks) had gotten the feeling of "full" mixed up with the feeling of "stuffed". Now, our goal should not be to eat until we feel full, but until we feel "not hungry". -
Well.......there's different kinds of support. There's "It's ok, just do better next time" support, and there's "Kick your ass into gear" support. Different situations call for different support. The pre-op diet is pretty important. Studies have shown that livers that have less fat around them are far less prone to tearing during the surgery. So, when I hear "Hey I cheated a bit" on the preop, it's cause for concern. Not usually a major thing.....but cheating on the preop, then cheating on the revised (because the person couldn't stay on the original preop) preop with a cheeseburger....that kind of tells me that maybe the person may not be mentally ready for the band. I want Ivernous to have success with the band. But just glossing over stuff....that doesn't really serve Ivernous' best interests. She (I think she? Sorry if I'm wrong, Iv) says that she's seeing a therapist and is a member of OA. That's cool....clearly a step in the right direction. But maybe Ivernous needs a little more time there before committing to surgery....because we all know that there's still a lot of work post banding (and a big cheat post op could lead to Very Bad Things)
-
Maybe you could get fat again, and then lose the weight again? It'd give you something to do.....
-
Respectfully, Ivernous......if giving up any food gives you pause about getting banded, then you might not be mentally ready for weightloss surgery. Think it over carefully.
-
Eloquent and put together well. Thumbs up.
-
Hang in there, nana! I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.

Hi Teri. Welcome to lapbandtalk. Congrats on getting approved and starting your journey. Good luck!

Why do women have anal sex?
plain replied to Oregondaisy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Uh, no....that would ruin my "street cred", lol
