Why do women have anal sex?
plain replied to Oregondaisy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Is that something that's considered an "art"?!? lol LMAO!!! Would there be a "popping" sound if that happened?!? LOLOLOLOLOL Can we please agree to never, EVER use the term "habitually fisted" again?!? LOLOLOL My hospital's ER once retrieved 4 medium potatoes from some gentleman's rectum. They have both the Xrays and the potatoes themselves (in a jar with some preservative) on display in the "hall of fame", along with various other curiousities. I can honestly say that my biggest fear is to be referred to as a dude that has been "habitually fisted" -
Well, sounds like his plan is working.

Exactly what I was alluding to. I wouldn't have taken that ass-chewing so meekly if that had been me in front of hypocritical congress. He's not collecting anything from the taxpayers. Essentially, he's working for free. You could argue that he is to be rewarded with stock shares (in addition to the dollar-per-year salary)......but stock in AIG? That annual dollar is probably worth more. Jodi, I can also be a little bit of a conspiracy theorist. I'm wondering if Treasury left the bonus provision in to specifically incite outrage from the public. This public outrage has led to congress passing a resolution that breaks Article I section 9 of the constitution. A conspiracy nut like me could see how this might be the first salvo in a broader plan of wealth re-distribution.
-
I don't mind that he went on Leno per se, but I do think it was more of a PR stunt to take attention off of treasury's involvement in the AIG fiasco, and off the economy in general.

He better be....I talk to him everyday. True, but there are so many other forms of oppression. I wouldn't want to believe in a God like that either, Green.

Supporting my wife through Lap Band
plain replied to sqcomp's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ah, jiu-jutsu. I'm an Aikido man, myself, although in college I knew a fellow that practiced "small circle jiu-jutsu". There are currently no facilities within 60 miles of where I live to train Krav Maga or Jiu-jutsu. It's the price of living in rual Texas, I guess. Anywho, welcome to lapbandtalk. I think you'll find this is a fantastic resource and database for your wife. I wish her luck....and congrats on your weight loss as well. -
"Grapevine Fires" - Death Cab for Cutie "I'm on a Boat" - The Lonely Island (their stuff makes me lol)

Do you take off your shoes?
plain replied to argon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I popped in here to take a peek and chuckle about how far off topic this thread had veered, but to my surprise.......wow.....11 pages of shoe removal vs. shoe retention. Must be more of a controversy than I had previously imagined. -
3 months later fighting with the hospital

They probably chipped to crowns when they were intubating (putting the tube in). There's a tool that you have to use that can chip teeth pretty easily if you're not good at it (like me *brag*). So that's where it all probably went down. Highly unlikely that it happened upon extubation (pulling the tube out). -

Hey! Who you calling fat? I'm not fat....I'm just "husky". At least that's what my mama tells me. -
Also, I just walked through downtown Texarkana, and nothing happened (!) so feel free to use our fill docs.

Getting started, Colostomy and lap band?
plain replied to denver52's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey there Denver, welcome aboard. I've not met any folks on here that have an ostomy (besides one woman who has a tracheostomy.....that's not really in the same area that is concerning you, right? lol), but that doesn't mean they're not lurking around somewhere. Sorry I couldn't help, but I just can't stand to see lonely posts with zero replies, so I had to reply. -
pwnd. And now I win.
-
Done. Hopefully it's just a TIA. They are extremely common.

I've found what your doc says to be true. High Protein foods do help me feel "full" for longer. I eat protein first, then vegatables. There are no other restrictions, per se. I was concerned that your doc had you on a "gimmicky" low carb diet (ie, you can't have potatoes or carrots!!). In my own mind, I draw a line between a "low carb" diet and a "high protein" diet.......I know, I'm crazy. It seems like I choose to eat higher protein now, but if I want some carby vegatables, I haven't blown my "diet" for the day. Make sense? Just knowing that I can eat carbs makes it easier for me to make healthier choices. Anyway, there is such a variation of instructions for different doctors. I just wanted to make sure yours wasn't trying to convince you that banded life meant being on Adkins forever, lol.

Is it bad that I want him to be jealous?
plain replied to keepingfaith08's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Heeheehee...."Asshat" is such an underutilized word nowadays... -
As libertarian as I am (well....profess to be, anyway), there really needs to be a law regulating the papps. That is straight up crazy!!
-
Don't make me send Dalton after you, Melly! *Throat grab* right Glouc?:tongue_smilie: Seriously, I know it's bad. It's soooooo bad that it's good, though.

Ok, Capn, a few thoughts: First, doesn't matter one whit how many cc's are in your band, so don't stress over knowing / retaining that knowledge. We're all different, so our "fill" level will differ. It's kinda like looking at a jogger and asking him "what size running shoe do you wear". Second, you say that when you did the week of liquids, you felt smaller "inside", yet felt no restriction. That suggests to me that perhaps you may 1) have mixed up the feeling of "full' with the feeling of "stuffed", or 2) May be totally relying on the band to act as a physical barrier to do all the work for you RE: the feeling of fullness, a very wise bandster explained this to me when I was but a newb.....He suggested that I eat (slowly and thoughtfully) until I was "Not hungry", as opposed to eating until I thought I was "full". For the most part, it's a mental shift, but one that has helped me more than anything else. We should not try to eat until we are "full" (that implies that we can hold no more....that we are filled to capacity), but until we are sated. It requires paying close attention to your body when you eat, but give it a try. Don't cost nuthin' (to steal a quote from Animal House). RE: letting the band do all the work - This is not how the band was designed. Don't eat until the band "stops" you (also known as "challenging the band"). I guess this kinda ties in with the above paragraph, eh? Composition was never a strength. Also, like you've indicated, exercise is extremely important. Cardio and strength training. Keep at it.....sounds like you're doing a good job there. Last thing......it is natural to get a little down at the roadblocks and downturns. What really matters is what you do TODAY. You shouldn't forget the lessons that yesterday taught you, but neither should you let yesterday drag you down. You are absolutely capable of turning this thing around RIGHT NOW. Do it man!!

An astute observation!! I wish I had a super fund.
