Why do women have anal sex?
plain replied to Oregondaisy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ebony, you are a tremendous role model for all women on this board. -
Beth, I'm ashamed of your defeatist attitude!

Eh, every industry everywhere has its share of assholios in management. I had a truly bad manager for a number of years. He wasn't snarky or malicious....he was just inept. He'd tack on rambling nonsense to inter-departmental email that his boss would send us, call me when I was sleeping to ask about unimportant reports, forget to order supplies, etc. He didn't last too long (and I suspect the same will happen to your Golden Child, Beth). After awhile it becomes painfully clear who can and who cannot do their work. Ebony, I was (and still am, really) the Golden Child of my department. As such, I've seen management pull a lot of childish, underhand "tricks" on co-workers they wanted to get rid of. I'm sorry to tell you that my gut is telling me that your boss has it in for you and is stocking up on her ammo (I hope I'm wrong, tho). My advice (and it's not very practical) is, even if HR and your boss ambushes you again, remain professional and courteous. No need to burn bridges.....and it is possible that sometime in the future they'll lose the douchebag and you can come work for them again.

I don't want to speak in front of audiences.....I just want to tutor Prejean. That's funny that you're equating being "politically correct" with lying. Hmmmm.....that's actually not so far-fetched, if you think about it. If that were true, then it's a win-win for everybody: Prejean gets 15 mins of fame, Trump gets "controversy" and therefore ratings, and gay marriage gets thrust into the spotlight. Win-win from that perspective. What's the connection between the two? Uh-huh......it was Bristol that put herself in the spotlight. Riiiiight. Well....yeah. I'd want that too, if I could get it written into my contract. Damn hospital won't go for it, tho. But you mean to tell me that you're totally ok with government getting into private sectors (many banks continue to claim that the treasury dept. forced them to take TARP money) and then making the business decisions of said sectors? It would have been way better to let those businesses fail. And yes, I blame Bush for a lot of that TARP bullshite. Dude panicked. LOLZ. That's nuts.

43% Pay NO Federal Income Tax - ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
plain replied to TerriDoodle's topic in Rants & Raves
I don't think I've "lambasted" you. But to answer your question, I found an economist on the extremely liberal MSNBC that wasn't very optimistic on the economy. Remember the "Most credible economists agree Obama's plan is good" thing? It was actually the 2nd thing that Google pulled up. The first was someting in a conservative paper, so I didn't even bother posting that one for ya. -
I'd be happy to tutor this charming young woman in the nuances of speech. Nothing creepy about that, is there?

43% Pay NO Federal Income Tax - ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

Yeah...I hear Dubya was a cannibal, that he is an excessive masturbator, and that he secretly worships Satan. I heard that somewhere and if you disagree, quit watching FOX news exclusively. Well, I'm not Beth, but here's the latest report from AP, as found on MSNBC.com (I purposely was looking on non-conservative sites, BJean.) Stocks drop on economy worries - Stocks & economy- msnbc.com read and discuss. Or don't, if it doesn't support your view. -
Unlike BJean, I think Prejean was right to state her opinion. If they wanted a politically correct answer, Perez could have phrased the question differently (ie, "Gay marriage is a hot-button issue right now. Do you think not allowing gay marriage is constitutional? Why or why not?"). But to stir the pot a little, let me say this: I caught her "rebuttal speech" from when Trump let her keep the crown, and I think she is a terrible speaker. Total eye candy, but a terrible speaker.

I don't want this to become a religous debate but I am looking for some questions

I think we're overlooking the obvious here....namely, that in post #33 I may have produced the longest multi-post ever. And Wasa STILL didn't take my bait. Dammit!! -
I wonder if he has even thought about that?
-
But a little creepy!!

Yeah, they looked bad, but they each just banked six figures. Isn't that what the game is REALLY about?

Jerry may have lost more weight, but Nicole looks far, far better and healthier, IMO.

Right, but......I could find info supporting the "Flat Earth" theory if I wanted to. That doesn't make it a correct theory, know what I mean? In the age of internet news, it's real easy to believe what you blindly read. But that's asking to be burned (remember Dan Rather and "ROTC-gate"? He could still be working if he had done a little research before trying to break the story). -

So, I shouldn't believe what my preacher says.....instead I should believe JaffaSteve? The literal / metaphor part is really a non-issue to me. Look at the parable of the Good Samaritan. Perhaps there was literally a man that was beaten and robbed and left for dead on the side of the road. Perhaps literally 2 people passed him up before a Samaritan did him a kindness........but, does it really matter if this really happened or if it is just a parable? We're supposed to take away the same message. -
Sorry Nancy. My mistake. Thanks for the point out. And also, QUIT NAGGING ME, WOMAN!! Also, I think it's funny that Clinton took the moral ground on marriage. That's like Jimmy Carter making fun of Obama's economic policies.

Is this a bonna fide fact, or your opinion? If it's a fact, please give me some names to Google!! Because most economists that I read say that all the spending is going to lead to an increase in interest rates and inflation, probably within 6 months (I can link if ya want) -
C!! I thought you had given up LBT for good!!

Lil' judgemental there, Nance...

I know this wasn't supposed to turn into a debate, but: That's a good one. I suppose God found a way.. I have a lot of my own questions regarding Noah. Personally, I'm not sure if the story of Noah is meant to be taken literally or if it were written in a more metaphorical tone. I just don't know. However, there's nothing in this seeming "contradiction" that would make me doubt the gospels (meaning, my lack of understanding doesn't affect my faith). Those of us that believe that the Bible is God's word don't have any trouble seeing how an all-powerful God could have forseen and planned for all those contingencies. So what's your point here? The Bible never claimed the mustard seed was the smallest. They were trying to make a point. They could have said "an acorn" or simply "a very small seed". It's the word of God, recorded by various men. I'm only going by memory here. Clearly, you're researched some of these verses on on athiest website. Since my knowledge of early middle east geography is a little lacking, I can't easily refute this one, except to say that John and Phillip were there, while I was not. I'll trust John on this one. Maybe there was more than one Galilee? That would be an amazingly easy explanation, wouldn't it? I'll ask him when I see him. In the meantime, I'm not familiar with these particular verses. My flavour of Christianity believes in the concept of free will. You're free to choose. In fact, you have. Not angry, sad. Yeah, these got passed around with a joint when I was in high school. Jokes, really. The trinity is a difficult concept to understand, even for Christians. You're missing the entire point. The crucifixtion was not intended to give Jesus the "ultimate horror and pain". That was the method they used to execute criminals. Jesus was crucified to 1) fufill certain prophecy about how the Messiah would die and 2) be sacrificed using the "criminal" symbolism. The "crimes" were the sins of mankind. Animal behaviour doesn't really have any bearing on the choices of humans though, right? That's like saying, if God didn't want us to eat poop, how come dogs do? You're jamming together two different quotes. When the Bible said that the sins of the fathers are visited upon the sons, it's a figurative passage, showing how a father's bad choices can affect an entire family. Conversely, the Bible says that we're all accountable for what we personally do (ie, my dad won't be held accountable if I enter into an adulterous relationship). Just some of the doctrine from MY church. Others will likely not agree, and have some explanations of their own. Perhaps BG's pastor will have interesting insights, since he / she has likely been to a seminary. -
Well......It is what it is. I personally think people that post stuff like this are very brave. I kinda wish I had taken more "pre" shots, especially shirtless or swimsuit / underwear pics (I only have.....well...none, lol). I have only taken 1 shirtless "during" shot so far when I was about 300 lbs (it wasn't so pretty....I shared w/ Fanny and Shonda). I'm going to try and "man up" during vaca @ the beach this summer and take / post some swimsuit photos.

Hey Beth, you might get more answers if you post your question under the "doctors and hospitals" section. Good luck!
