My nightmare hospital experience this weekend

Actually, the chemically-addicted folks are usually the most challenging to hospital workers' patience. -
Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

Super classy title for a thread... -

Are We ready for a Black President?
plain replied to TheWatcher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Even so, it has to run out one day, right? We either start to take care of the problem now or our kids face this problem again later. If the government had looked hard at getting off oil in the Carter administration (and every administration since then), we might not be quite so bad off today. -

To me, an educated person changes his views as better options come to light. A "flip-flopper" changes his views strictly to curry political favor. What issues has McCain flip-flopped on? There may be some, but I'm not aware of any. Certainly not enough to catagorize him as "as a caught fish" -
Hey now, quit namecalling!!

Just checking in with everybody. I go in for fill #3 this Thursday. Anybody else?
-
Ah, no sweat, bro! You'll be feeling fine in no time!!

It just takes time, ebeth. Most of us would still be on clear liquids on day 6. Did your doc or nutritionist give you a plan for what you should or shouldn't eat? This is the time you want your stomach to concentrate on healing from the surgery, not digesting food, so take it easy.

Warning TMI, but need help.
plain replied to YoungNy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi youngNy. The chewable fiber wafers are pretty good as well. -
Hi getthin. Welcome. I didn't have my surgery in Mexico, but since nobody else replied, I thought I'd give my $.02 about fills. It sucks having to drive for awhile to get to a fill center, but that'd be waaaaay better than going to Mexico (unless you could could time the fills with your vacation and then deduct as "medical procedure"....LOL). But seriously, I've had 2 fills and so far they take about 30 seconds to complete. No big deal, and they're almost painless.

I don't know, Bella. 4 years banded is a long time, and I'd think the odds of the band causing this would be pretty low, but just to be safe, you should probably consult your doc.

Hang in there, RPA. It will get better when you start getting fills. It helps to stay busy, and of course (if you are able) walk, walk, walk.

Hey fourpaws! I once did an internship with the hyperbaric oxygen department (wound care) at the Nix. Cool old hospital very close to the riverwalk. I went to college in San Marcos, and I love Texas hill country. Welcome and good luck!

Just praying for answers

Yeah....sounds like you need to consult a specialist. Better safe than sorry. -
Just take it one day at a time, Cinda. There were times on the pre-diet that I thought I'd go crazy, but I made it.......and you will too. Just by saying that you'll stick to the diet helps you that much more (as opposed to having a dialog with yourself saying "well, I'll try to stick to my diet, but..."). As for the jitters, it's a pretty easy surgery and you'll do fine (You'll do finer by following the doc's orders). Good luck! You can do it!

I saw it and thought it was nicely done, unlike some pseudo-documentaries that exist only to smear and inflame (uh, every Michael Moore film ever made, IMO). I totally think Bush killed the electric car, but we can't stop trying.

Are We ready for a Black President?
plain replied to TheWatcher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It's not real popular because it's not a viable long term solution, Elenation. Now matter how much oil we drill, it will eventually run out. We've had 30 years (since Jimmy Carter's term) to come up with an energy solution, and have squandered it away. We have to get off of oil. Anything else is just putting on a band-aid. -

But McCain is more known for crossing party lines than anybody else, hence the bit of hot water he's in with the ultra conservatives. The arguement you make is overly simplistic, BJean, and you're waaaaaay smarter than that. If things were simply a matter of following party lines, then how would the primaries work? The person that followed party lines "the bestest" get the nomination? Everybody is pissed at the oil companies. But further taxing them won't work because they'll pass that cost along to the consumers (as Jack pointed out). and what level of taxation do you think is fair for the richest Americans? 33%? 50%? 75%? I'm a registered independant, which means squat since we live and die by the two party system now. I'm leaning towards McCain now (but that's not set 'till I step in the booth). -

One day you'll work up the courage / callouses needed to use adult whips, Mac...A word of caution, though....don't forget a small strip of leather to "bite down on", otherwise the neighbors might get concerned.
