    I hate it when people post just to post.....

    It was prolly the blue hair, Mac. I blame the blue.

    Sept-2008

    Wow! Your pics are incredible! You look great! Good job.
  3. Um, I think LBT just ate the message I tried to post?!?

  4. Hey! Long time no see! Where ya been?

  5. Hey Dionna...sorry for the late reply. I guess you can tell I rarely check my page for messages. Libertarian describes me pretty well, but if I have to take sides, I'm more conservative than liberal. Weird combo, I know. I'm glad to have a buddy on the site to discuss / debate politics intellectually......not just somebody that blindly buys what they read / hear / see. So welcome!!

    Jessica Simpson Hair Extensions

    I was wondering if that was for "topless protest" day.

    Obesity Help Lawsuit filed by Gary Viscio

    Thank you, SS. I hope the caring folks at OH will help defray my legal experiences.
  8. I will totally agree with you on this, Nanook. I've found that many surgeons provide horrible aftercare instructions. Like any other field, I'm sure there are some docs doing bariatric surgery just for the money that don't give two flips about their patients. Likewise, I agree that the lapband won't work for 100% of the people (for whatever reason). Nothing in life has a 100% success rate, except death. The reason, IMO, that people came down harshly on this poster was the tone of the post. You can't barge in somewhere and spew crap like that....that's why I made a semi-humorous point by point refutation of the OP's claims. Again, for the people that are really having trouble with their band, I'm sorry. There is a place here for support for those people. It's the folks (like the OP) that deliberately stir up trouble that get me going.
  9. No Carrie, there is a threat in th R&R section from a dude that claims to be a DDS that started his thread off titled "Lapband- deciet and bullsh**t". Highly entertaining.

    This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

    Crusty Hubblelips...Damn glad to meetcha.

    lapband=deceit and bullsh**t

    Ok, glad you're going to stay. Cool. But if you are serious about losing the weight, maybe take special note of your attitude. An analogy would be if I went on a dental forum and loudly proclaimed that Flouride is deciet and bullsh**t, and that it didn't work for me. See, there is a legitimate debate to be had there (in your case with the band as well), but it's all in the way you present yaself.

    Obesity Help Lawsuit filed by Gary Viscio

    Looks to me like Viscio was pissed about not getting any advertising accomidations in return for his consulting work....As for the other allegations, like OH only wanting to generate revenue, libeling doctors, and discrediting / banning people because they disagree with the posts, all I can say is (in M. Night Shamalan voice as heard on Robot chicken) "What a twist!" Anybody surprised by the allegations against OH will also be shocked to hear of my lawsuit against the ocean being too salty.

    Video of your Lapband surgery

    That would be the coolest. video. ever!! I wish I had thought to ask for a copy of mine!!
  14. Thank you, SS and Chickie. In the future, please read ALL my posts in that Peter Griffin voice.

    lapband=deceit and bullsh**t

    No, that's not the only thing you are saying.I believe the title of your post is lapband = deceit and bullsh**t. Now if you have some legit comments / questions, feel free to fire away. But don't come on to a lapband site and take that tone. If you really are a DDS (which, in all honesty, I seriously doubt.....If you are, lay off the N2O) then do some research into how the band is supposed to work. Serious questions / comments only from this point forward, K? Thx.
  16. Heehee...."the rage". That cracked me up. BTW, Y'all ever get the feeling that the more angry people on this thread could benefit from a lil' something to calm down?

    newbie

    Welcome kathyq. You certainly can find the answers to very minor things on here....but since things vary quite a bit from person to person (and even instructions from doctor to doctor), your doc is the ultimate resource. Good luck on your journey!

    Say hi to Joey Ramones' Girl!

    Welcome JRG. I wanna be sedated!! There's a LOT of info scattered on here for a potential new bandster to look over, so pull up a chair and get busy reading!! It'll be nice to have a philosophy dudette on here, I Kant remember the last time that happened (see what I did there? Philosophy puns ROCK). Seriously, there are pros and cons that need to be considered with the band. It's not a magic pill...it's a helpful tool. You'll probably understand mo betta after your seminar. There's a metric ton of friendly regulars on here, lots of support, advice, etc. It's a wonderful site. Good luck on your journey, and keep us all posted on your progress!
  19. So....you hated cheetos, chocolate and ice cream? Wonderful! That's great success! For life?!? Most Docs I know want at least a couple of follow up visits... I've met those people too. I live in the rual south. You must have had an extermely skilled surgeon Well, at least we agree on this point. I wish everybody would think before they jump in. Don't you wish you'd have thought it out a little better? Although if you could lose more weight in the last 4 months than the previous 3 banded years, I wonder why you needed surgery in the first place? Likely you weren't as fat as me.
  20. So......you mean the stomach is the most oxygen-rich organ in your body? Or did the surgeon place the band around your lungs?

    Jessica Simpson Hair Extensions

    Sorry, were you wearing hair extensions? I was too busy contemplating the nudie pics. *creepy laugh* Ps- If you weren't nekkid, don't ruin the illusion for me, K?

    Ahem...very personal :)

    I'm not sure if an OB / GYN can manually check or not. In that study, they used vaginal ultrasound to denote a slight thickening of the tissue.
  23. I'm still not 100% totally sold on Palin...but she did deliver a brilliant speech.
