  1. Take something loose to the hospital wear home. Either way they do the procedutre, laproscopically or open, you will not want anything tight around your abdomen. The other advice I have is, they say not to eat after 11 the night before, and I stopped at 8, but the surgeon said there was still alot of food in my stomach that he had to clean out before he could take the majority of my stomach out. Unfortunately I got an infection in one of my 5 incisions that is open at present and I am going to have wound care done every day. So my advise is, no solid food for atleast 24 hours before surgery. Dealing with this open wound is a pain, and dangerous. Also I found that my surgeon didn't know alot about wound care so once I returned home, 60 miles away, I was basically on my own. The best thing is to avoid that complication at all cost. Good luck to you you.
