    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

Well that definitely cleared things up. I can completely see how this was Obama's victory now, thanks for addressing the question and not parroting the left wing talking points on WMD's for me. Great help:thumbup:...Oh wait.

    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

Yeah, I kinda feel the same way, but that is an unnecessary jab at people who feel strongly about a cause. I'm not an Obama hater, tho I am most definitely not an Obama lover, I feel like he's been quite a let down thus far. Mostly because he hasn't done anything, and with this new little tidbit about Iraq being his victory that is definitely annoying. But I really am curious what the people who have this unwavering support for Obama have to say on the topic? Is there a point in time, when things will no longer be GWB's fault? Or is anything that is bad that he had a hand in his fault, and anything that has happened since without and influence from him Obama's fault? At least that almost makes sense. But if thats the case, then why claim Iraq as Obama's victory, it has GWB written all over it, I would really like an honest answer to this question.

    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

I won't tell you to shut up, you do have freedom of speech. However, if you noticed the name of the sub-forum that you entered it is called the, "LBT Rants and Raves Off-Topic DEBATE AREA". Which implies, that while yes the main site is for weight loss support, which is the #1 reason we are all here, this is a little corner to come and discuss things, not LB related or WL related. Hence the name. So I say this with the utmost respect; if you are really bothered by these postings, why not just refrain from coming into this sub-forum? You are the only one that can click that link, you have the control, you make the choice. So choose not too.

    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

I have a question for all the Obama lovers on here, and maybe it's been asked an answered already somewhere on these forums, but I haven't seen it yet, so feel free to copy and paste. When does everything stop being GWB's fault and when does Obama stars to take responsibility for everything? Other than of course, the fact that Iraq is a great success of the Obama administration. Because we all now how happy he was about the troop surge and how well he thought it would work. So it only makes sense now, that that would become HIS success, and not the Bush administration's success, because Bush had nothing to do with it. YAY OBAMA!

    Firemen with the Band

I was off for 3 weeks and it felt like it was too long, I went stir crazy at home for that long. When I came back to work I hopped right into the swing of things, and haven't looked back. I do keep a protein bullet(45g) with me pretty much at all times, because I have noticed on any extended fire attack be it vegetation or good working structure, I get a little weak and that protein gives me a pretty decent boost. My station averages about 4000 calls a year, so we stay pretty busy as well.

    Law enforcement thread

Any Chippies out there? I'm 3 weeks post-op and will be applying to CHP as soon as I hit 300lbs. I'm down 50 so far with about 17 to go. I've been working on my running since that will be the hardest part of my testing process I think. I have to do a 100 yd run in 20 seconds, and a 500 yd run in 2 minutes, and I'm struggling with those right now, I hope my speed increases as weight comes off.

  14. I agree..I think I'm the first guy to respond but I wear a lot smaller sizes then most people I see who are my size. I'm 6'5" 365 at my highest and 320 right now 2 weeks post op and have been wearing the same size 42/30 pants and xxl shirts. Tho the pants are starting to get pretty darn loose which is nice. But I see a lot of people my size that are wearing size 50+ and 3 or 4 or even 5 xl shirts.

    What are your NSV's ???

I've had to punch two new holes in my belt and my shorts are still falling off. Stupid costco had shorts on sale about 2 months ago for like 7 bucks so I got all 5 colors and no non of them fit...:-) :-( I might be too poor to lose weight if I have to invest in clothes all the time.
  17. I had my surgery on the 14th, today I get to start mushies, tho for Breakfast I just had a 20g muscle milk light and am still full so I don't know what I'll eat later. I've been plenty full so far on just 2 meals a day, my doc said I could use Protein supplements from the start so I've been drinking a 45g protein bullet for lunch everyday. As of this morning I'm down 20 lbs. from surgery day, so that was exciting I didn't want to weigh myself until today so I held off, and it was pretty awesome to see that number. I started exercising 3 days ago, went on a 5 mile walk. Then the next day I did about 30 minutes of jogging with some short 100 yd interval sprints in between and felt pretty. But when I finally got home I was feeling pretty weak, so I had another muscle milk and felt better almost immediately, yesterday I did a 4 mile walk and decided to see what my abs could take and did a 20 min ab workout on the inversion table and man am I sore today(muscles, not incisions). As far as pain from surgery, I was in the hospital about 36 hours and was in a lot of pain most of the first 24 hours and the morphine(happy button) was my best friend. But the last 12 hours I was doing a lot better and didn't use the morphine at all and was walking around about every hour. I didn't have a BM for about 4 days. I never had any gas pain, or nausea, and very minimal incision pain, I think I took about 9cc of the liquid vicodin they gave me and that was it. My biggest problem so far has been getting enough liquid in, the sipping was tough but I found about 4 days ago that I can drink pretty good size gulps with no problem so thats been going better for me. A drink that I found that has been wonderful because Water was getting old is vita rain from costco(i think it's their generic of Vitamin water), it's great tasting and no calories, no sugar, just some Vitamins.

    Officially in Bandster Hell

I'm two weeks today, and while I feel like if I sat and ate I could keep going and going, if I keep what I eat to a min(I usually eat 1 can of cream of chicken soup with different spices, twice a day) I feel full all day long. I get to switch to mushies today, so I don't know what I'll be eating now, but I had a 20g muscle milk light for breakfast around 8 a.m. and am still full and it's 12:30 right now. I know I can eat and eat because my wife got soups and salads for everyone the other day and I ate 3 good size soup servings and probably would have kept going but we ran out, I felt like crap about 20 minutes later but while I was eating there was no restriction at all. I've been losing steady, I'm down 20 pounds since surgery and 46 from my top weight, so I'm not too discouraged yet, I just wish I felt fuller sooner.

    Exploring the World of Protein

I use these, they give a pretty good discount if you buy in bulk. They're pretty tasty too, they're the highest protein/lowest everything else I could find and easy to take since it's only 3 oz. for 45 g of protein.
  20. Just had my surgery on 8/14, I have four small "holes" and one incision, I guess it's about an inch the others are all about 1/4 to 3/8 inch.

    Travel after surgury

My doc said it was ok for me to make the 9 hour drive home the day after surgery as long as i stop every few hours.
  22. I just got approved and scheduled for aug 14th. My dr is only requiring a liquid diet for 24 hours. Everyone else is talking about being on pre op diet for weeks. Is mine weird only being 24hrs?

    Approved!!!

I finally got approved, and I have a surgery date of Aug 14th. For any of you out there that are firefighters, I was wondering how much time you took off after your surgery?

Ugh, all I want is a yes or no answer!

I hear ya, I just passed the one year mark since I started the process, it's very upsetting to keep getting pushed back and told there are more and more hoops to jump through. The hospital I was going to go to for the surgery lost their BC/BS COE standing, supposedly because they didn't jump through BC/BS's hoops, and paying all sorts of fees to BC/BS(in their defense they were still COE through the bariatric board of surgery or something so it probably was a paperwork thing or just stubborn executives). My doc didn't tell me about this until I thought I was ready for surgery. Then I had a doc who told me my slightly elevated BP was going to kill me on the surgery table and refused to clear me for 6 months. I just found out the other day that they will once again be certified June 1st, so my info will be sent to INS. first thing on that day. And my doc promised me since it's been such a long drawn out process with a lack of communication on his part that once I'm approved he will bump me to the head of the line for surgery and get me done ASAP. My big dilemma; I'm getting married June 20th and was really hoping to have at least six months I was hoping a year of weight loss under my belt before my wedding, no I'll have none, or possibly 2 weeks, but I dont think I'll try and do it that soon before the wedding. Very frustrating. Sorry for hijacking your thread. Just wanted to vent..
