    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

Bjean, your like the talking bird on Cleo's Mom's shoulder. You have nothing to add to this conversation except to chime in and congratulate CM. CM, everything you stated about my generation, shows how disconnected from it you are. I know my history quite well thank you. When the people that you talk about took SS and medicare, they did so with a heavy heart, the next generations are doing so thinking they deserve it. Thats one of many of the big difference's between them. Now I'm trying to figure out if you were middle class like you said first? Or dirt poor lower class like you said second? There is quite a difference. As for you and your late husband being educators; thank you. They are great people, who do a job I would never want. My wife is a teacher as well. However, with the indoctrination's that go on in this country now days, it's very hard to find a teacher who is willing to set aside their political agenda and teach children the real history and the real issues of the day. I didn't have a single teacher growing up that was capable of that, and I saw threw their rhetoric at a very young age and so turned to learning history and politics on my own. In college it was the same thing. 90% of my teachers were tree hugging liberals, who on a daily basis bashed all things conservative, and God have mercy on your soul if you tried to stand up for any sort of conservative viewpoint. I received lower grades in college for my fiscally conservative views, and for not wanting to legalize all illegal immigrants and not agreeing and falling into the indoctrination of my professors. Because like you, it the DNC way or the highway. And again I will say, the people of my generation who are the few that thing everything is owed to them, are the ones who are typically children of baby boomers children, if you look at the people of my generation with parents that are a bit older like mine were you see a huge difference. As far as equality, I'm not talking about how the government views people. Of course all citizens should be viewed equally to the government, what I'm talking about is your entitlements, your welfare, your medi-cal, and medicaid, medicare, is for people who have worked hard their whole life, thats fine. SS was not supposed to be around forever, and the way things are going it wont. It's going to bankrupt the country as life expectancies get longer and longer and with the mismanagement of those money's and more and more social handouts happen there will be nothing left. I'm for earning your keep. I'm fiscally conservative, socially moderate. I don't believe in handouts. Nobody like the Vietnam Conflict, and your generation made sure the soldiers knew that when they came home. So to those that participated yes, there was a war. For the majority however, they felt like it was wrong and did not support it, and did not support the troops, and felt no sense of patriotism, so comparing the wars of the greatest generation to the wars of yours is like apples to oranges. Feel free to stand for what you believe in. But when your petty about it, and so hostile about it, it makes you seem like a loon. Be all the feminist you wanna be, that movement is a whole other discussion. But to try and out Republicans as being hypocrites, while acting like the other side isn't, or isn't as bad, is again, silly and naive.

You know nothing of my generation. My generation is f**cked up by our parents, your generation’s children. They are the ones who couldn't let their kids fail, or not make the sports team. There are a large percentage of us, probably a majority, who see that as weak, and pitiful. My parents are probably older then you, but came from lower class dirt poor families and made it on their own, and knew that was what made them great people, and instilled that in my siblings and myself. Hopefully we'll be seeing a turn in that nonsense, my wife deals with those people whose children are never at fault and should always be on every team even if they're no good at the sport. The generation of which you speak is the generation older than mine, your generation’s children. Why would you change your mind? Not because some wet behind the ears conservative has an opposing view, but because sometimes there are more ways than one. Sometimes an agenda goes the wrong way, maybe you don’t see that. Maybe your tunnel vision is so set in that you can’t see that maybe the other side might do a couple good things now and again, or make some valid points. I will lecture you on the greatest generation, because you seem to have forgotten what made them great. It wasn’t handouts and redistribution of wealth. It wasn’t making sure everybody was equal; it was self reliance, and self respect, moral character, earning NOT demanding respect, work ethic, personal responsibility, not personal liability, no sense of entitlement, a sense of patriotism, which has been lost since them. Yours is the generation that started affirmative action. What was set up for you? America, you had no war to fight, you had no depression to fight through, your parents and grandparents did all that for you. They tried to instill in your generation the same values but somewhere it was lost, because while a majority have them, an overwhelming number don’t and the majority of the children of the baby boomers most definitely don’t. It does have a lot to do with brainwashing, maybe indoctrination is a better term, as you are unable to see anything else other then the agenda set forth for you, you parrot talking points the DNC gives you, and you see no problem with it, you hate who they tell you to hate and love who they tell you to love. Not seeing a problem with that and pledging an undying support to them no matter what is naïve and scary.

Again, Beck didn't say much, it was mostly video's of Obama and what he was saying. So watch it, from the 50 second mark to the 2 minute mark, you might be surprised, Beck says very little so you should be able to stomach it.

Yes I like having money. I work hard for MY money. If thats a a republican thing so be it. If I want to buy nice things, I should be allowed to I earned my money working very hard for it. I went to school, put myself threw school and got an education, then found a good job. And if my neighbor fell on hard times, it would not be my fault, but depending on how they acted, and if they were good hard working honest people, I might help out. If their baby making welfare people and their welfare dried up, then no, I'm not helping. I have been helping, by paying for their welfare for years. And to be honest, I don't care much for the rest of the people, I deal with some of the biggest low life's this country has to offer on a daily basis. I love my family and friends fiercely, they are and always will be number 1 to me. And they are who I would help out. I wasn't helped out and I made it just fine, because I had drive and determination. If someone wants to sit on their butt all day and collect unemployment or whatever other government assistance they can get their hands on, I could care less about them. Those programs were to help people get back on their feet. Nowadays thats how huge amounts of people live day to day life and they see no problem with it, and lots democrats see no problem with it either and want to give them more and more. This country was founded on capitalistic ideals, not on handouts.

Maybe my emphasis was off here. What I meant is that I've never heard of the Michelle lady that CM was talking about. I've heard of Glenn Beck and see his show on occasion, but am not an avid watcher. I did happen to be watching the part where he showed President Obama saying over and over again, that you could keep your dr and keep your ins, and then, Obama said, oh, someone snuck something in that makes it so you can't..oops. If you watched the video, you would see Obama saying these things, NOT BECK. But that is asking a lot of someone. The internet, as you may not know, stores just about every shred of information, that there is in the world. So to say that the information on the internet isn't reliable is once again, naive. Talk to your doctor, I'd be willing to bet he or she no longer keeps the same amount of medical journals in his office or home office because of...wait for it...the internet. Any book or newspaper or political pundits words, are all captured online. In many many different places. I can read history books, current books, I can even earn a degree from almost any prestigious university all online. So in complete contradiction to you, I'd have to say the internet is a VERY reliable source.

Firstly you quoted a part of a sentence. Had you taken the half a second it takes to hit the quote button at the bottom of my post the entire thing would have been posted and you could have highlighted what wanted, but I have a sneaking suspicion, if you had done that you point wouldn't have been made properly, because people could read what I was saying and understand the satire of the remark. Here's a little definition for you, incase your sneaking suspicion is incorrect and maybe you don't know what it means as it seems you don't.

I don't know where you got slut from tool shed? Maybe a tool is something different in your part of the country. But I never said or implied slut, so calm down. I would never call anyone on here a slut. Thats silly. What I meant by tool shed, is that she was being ignorant. Not slutty? I never said name calling was a sign of lack of self esteem. This is a big problem with people who join conversations half way through and don't do all the appropriate leg work and just chime in.

    Too fat to fly?

He's a producer, he made the movie "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back". And yeah, there could be safety issues, if he can't get down the aisle or out of seat fast enough he slows everyone else down and could kill other people. And it was a southwest flight. They normally ask you to purchase two seats, if you are too large to fit one. But the article said he was a standby passenger and got the last seat so he couldn't purchase an extra, which he admittedly does normally.

    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

This has been fun but I see that you are so set in your ways you'll never change your mind. Can't teach an old dog new tricks. You aren't even willing to consider anything else. You can say you are. But based on what I've read of your post's, your not. It's sad really because, your part of that generation that got their start because of the greatest generation. And things in the country were already set up for you, so it was much easier for you then for them, so people like you were able to think that everyone should be given everything. People of the greatest generation weren't like that. They were all about the hand up not the hand out, but the baby boomers and the next generation, your generation, have been all about the hand out. Which is not the American way. Read some history. Thats not how this country was founded. Thats not why this country was founded. The people of this country needed to be like the companies of this country, if their weak, they fail. Some people are failures. Not everyone can make it, not everyone deserves to make it. This is a country based on earning your keep. And that is something that the democratic party is trying to change. What they need to do, but are afraid to do, is come out and say what they really want. Socialism. And you know what if thats what they want, thats fine. But most don't want that. And thats why they wont come out and say it. You can say I sound like Michelle whatever, I've never heard of her, or Glenn Beck, well, as time goes on, Beck seems to be right about more and more things. Kinda scary. But in reality I get most of my news and information online, I don't watch much tv, and I don't read newspapers. I look for what seems to be the most fair and balanced. Not what a tv station tells me is the most fair and balanced. You, for lack of a better term have been brainwashed, maybe by choice, but brainwashed none the less, by the democratic party, you sound like a person who has a very one track thinking process when it comes to politics, which is sad, there's a lot of good on both sides of the table. I for one can see that. I'm all over the political spectrum. However, I don't believe in handouts, and I don't believe this country should give everything away, I think you should earn your keep or fail out. If your not capable of succeeding on your own. TOO BAD.

    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

I hope your not truly naive enough to think the President Bush was a stupid person. That wouldn't say much about you. There is not a person in politics who is unintelligent or stupid. There just isn't. And if you think there is, you are very sadly misinformed, and have a huge mental block you need to get over. I especially like how people always seem to say that it was Bush who ruined the country, Bush, Bush, Bush. But when you say "hey why hasn't Obama got this or that done yet" the response is always. Well it's a process, there's the senate and the house and the republicans just aren't letting him. Well, riddle me this; who controlled the house and senate during Bush's last term? And how was it possible he got all this legislature threw to ruin the country without the house and senate, I'm really confused how he was able to do that without the democrats of the house and senate, as well as the republicans of the house and senate? Oh, wait they all helped, and since the republicans haven't had a filibuster proof house and senate, that means the dems helped out...hmmmmmm strange.

    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

That is the basis of the problem. Why should it cost millions of dollars to get elected? Explain that? Yes if some "TEAPARTY" person were to get elected today, alone, with all these high hopes he'd have a very hard time getting anything done. But if the "TEAPARTIERS" and the rest of the country would wise up and overthrow the entire gov. and get in and start fresh, things could be changed. We could put limits on campaigns, real limits, not the BS they try now. We could put term limits so you don't get guys like Killer Teddy in there for 40 years or however long he was in, they don't get things done because they're always trying to get re-elected, if you had 8 years and you were out for life, you would spend time getting sh!t handled not trying to get re-elected. There are hundreds of other examples out there that a little common sense will show you. Things our founding fathers did, and believed in. Oh I know they were all slave owning KKK members who were ignorant and hated the poor I know I know. The elite? No, not educated people. I'm an educated person, with a good job who lives comfortably, but I would not consider my self to be elite. I came from very meager beginnings. The elite that I am speaking of, are the Pelosi's and Kennedy's and Moore's of the world who think the average person doesn't know what is best for them, and that instead they just need to follow like lemmings whatever they are told to do by the elite. Whens the last time we had a president, who wasn't a millionaire? How many senators aren't millionaires? Are you a millionaire? Do these people who have no idea how hard it is to struggle to pay the rent, or come up with the money to be a self pay bander live the life you do? Or I do? Or the majority of American's do? No, they don't. So why are they the ones representing the majority? Because they have money. And with that money it doesn't usually take to long before they start thinking they are better then the rest of us, and know more than the rest of us, like Pelosi's and Kennedy's and Moore's and Obama's. It's garbage. We need every day people who know what life is about to represent us, not rich snobs.

Show me a post where I say I hate Obama? I do not. Have not ever said I did. Do I support him? No, not in the least I think the road he wants to take America down is dangerous and un-American. But I respect the man. He's the president, respect is due to him for that. If you'll notice, I even have enough respect to do silly little things, like capitalize his name, which reading back through several of yours I've noticed you always capitalize Obama, and any democratic name you supply but almost never do so with President Bush's name, or other republicans who you like. That is just one of the many differences between the mind sets of liberal/progressive/democratic people and the rest of us. We aren't as petty, we don't try to get an extra little jab in by doing silly little things like that. It's called respect. You may not agree with Bush, and you may have hated Bush, but he was our President, for better or worse, and the respect should be given to him. You said in another post that you would support any democratic presidential candidate. You don't think thats a bit dangerous to just use a blanket statement like that? I sure wouldn't support any republican, I can see clearly enough to support whomever I think will do the best job. I was a Clinton supporter, tho I was young I've always had an avid interest in political things and thought Clinton was a better choice then Bush Sr. and was pretty happy with where he took us for the most part. There was some more balance in the two houses then there is now so he couldn't get to crazy.

    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

Have you ever heard of this little thing that happened a few hundred years back, oh what was it called?.....The American Revolution, thats right. We had a horrible government ruling us based on what THEY thought was best for US, not based on what we thought was best for US. Which is what we the people demanded, and is what we the people are demanding again. And will get. No before your first words are "You want to go to war and kill half the country?" NO. Thats not what I'm saying. Grow up. There are other diplomatic ways to do this. And there are thousands of Americans out there who would make wonderful representative, that are no nonsense, non politico types who could and would do a much better job then what we have now. The big problem is Americans are to content to just sit by and let everything happen. Thats what the tea party movement is about. Taking OUR country back from the "elite" who think they know what's best for us, and doing what we KNOW is best for US.

Now you can't even give me the respect to spell my nickname correctly. Wow. And a great big negative on that whole tool statement you made there. I posted the FACTS! I rebutted with FACTS! And just because you don't have the common sense, or your so blinded by your partisanship that you can't take anything the way it's supposed to be, is beyond me. Thats a fault of your own that you'll need to work on. You think you didn't take that quote out of context? Standby. You absolutely took that quote out of context. ABSOLUTELY! Unequivocally you took that quote out of context. I'm sorry you aren't able to see that, maybe it's one reason you love the democratic party so much, because they love nothing more the to take quotes out of context and try to make people look bad. It's terribly sad that they're so weak that that is their only option but oh well.

Please continue taking my quotes out of context. It will make my day more fun when I make sure everyone knows what your doing. First of all, in the context of the post that was most definitely satire, I do not think there is anything a great about Iraq. Get that straight first. Next, if you pay attention to the news, other then the gov supplied talking points of CNN and MSNBC, you would know that in fact the great one's partner VP Biden said last week that Iraq is a success of the Obama administration. Here it is, probably on one of your favorite news channels. In the future it would serve you well to be honest with your quotes and include the context to prevent you from looking like a tool shed. I will not do that to you, I expect the same respect back.

This is such an ignorant generalization that it doesn't even really deserve a response. I would think someone who's been around as long as you would know better then to say something that outlandish and naive. Thats the equivalent of me saying all those poor (black) democrats just want free healthcare and free money and free rent and all the abortions they can handle for free. And all they do is listen to CNN and believe how if we dont switch to socialism we're all gonna die because there is nothing as evil as capitalism.

    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

Most meeting’s I’ve attended the agenda is posted before hand and you know what is new business, old business etc. This is usually everyone who is going to attend the meetings right to know. I challenge you to find ANYTHING ANYWHERE on the internet of me saying that Sarah Palin is my savior, or even that I so much as like Sarah Palin. You’ll find that you can’t because I do not like her. My comment was made with the knowledge of how you’ve posted here over the last several months and you seem to be without exception, a huge Obama supporter and it would seem that in your mind he can do very little wrong. Like a mother in denial over her spoiled child(not saying anything about your children just using the analogy), you seem to think Obama is the messiah. I however, cannot stand Palin, and am not a huge fan of Obama thus far. Bush, could care less about him too. He’s gone. Dem’s need to get over him. GET OVER HIM!!! And please while you’re at it, answer my question about when things will cease to be Bush’s fault and will become Obama’s. He wants to know who will be there? I fail to see what is so hard to understand about this and why your making such a big deal out of it. He has the right to know, as does anyone else who will be in attendance. Yes people want healthcare reform. But not the jam packed do it in a week 2500 page bill that no one knows what’s in it. The people want a good reform bill, not the bits and pieces Obama and the dems can jam in while their still in power. They’re playing games over and over again, such as not letting Kennedy’s replacement be seated because he’d throw off the vote not voting the way killer teddy would have. Of course people want to talk about healthcare because their scared of losing what they have. Obama just admitted that some sneaky little devil snuck something into the bill that would force you to give up your doctor and ins, after a year of preaching you wouldn’t. Hmmm… strange, who woulda thought they would do something like that. Yes a fair shake. Which you are admitting he’s not getting and your saying he and no other conservative deserves because they have been blocking Obama’s agenda. Well guess what, if the people who elected them, want them to block Obama’s agenda, that’s what they need to be doing. So good for them. But if you scroll up a bit you’ll see a list of about 30 representatives who also are “blocking” healthcare…what do you have to say about them?
  22. ariscus99

    Hypocrisy of Republicans/Conservatives

What is it about? A general discussion on healthcare? What to include, exclude? Other points to along with it? The budget of the thing? There are many many aspects of this bill, that would be why it's several thousand pages long. Why should it matter if it's televised? Obama would have to know, so that the teleprompter could be ready for him. Why should it matter who's there? Well if its gonna be all dems and one rebup that seems like a bit of an ambush and you just might prepare a little differently now wouldn't you? And whining? Who whines more? Hmmm..."We're gonna pass this bill no matter what, if we have to sneak in the back door, or under the fence or pole vault over the fence or skydive in." Yeah thats not whining. Oh, the republicans wont vote for any of our stuff..waaah..well a year ago it didn't matter because the dems were filibuster proof and everyone was onboard on there side right? Oh wait no..all he wants is a fare shake. Why are the dems afraid to give that to him?

Annnnd here's what was actually said by Boehner. "Boehner said he's skeptical to a degree about the purpose of a Feb. 25 meeting with President Barack Obama and congressional leaders in both parties to try and hammer out some bipartisan consensus on health reform. "I want to have this bipartisan conversation, but I want it to be productive and I want it to be real. I don't want to walk into some trap. I don't want to walk into some political event," Boehner said during an interview on Fox News. "I want to walk in and have a real conversation about what we can do to make our current system work better." Boehner said he's trying to figure out whether or not the event is a stunt, and said he wasn't even aware the meeting would be happening until an hour before Obama's Super Bowl Sunday interview announcing the summit had aired. The House's second-ranking Republican, Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.), said he was unaware of the meeting until he actually watched the interview when it aired." He's worried that it's another political bombardment by the democrats. He doesn't want to show up ready to have a discussion on healthcare, only to get thrown under the bus on national tv again. Are you saying that he and the others attending the meeting don't have the right to know what will be discussed, whether or not it will be televised and who all will be there?
