    Skipping pureed

I, like you, am not one of them. Texture is the issue here for me too. Love the flavor of bananas, but eating one? ugh.

    Skipping pureed

I am with you, or at least, I will be...my surgery date is October 10. One of the major hang ups for me was the Puree Stage..because as you say, "puke, barf, disgusting". Well put by the way. The though of baby food consistency makes we want to gag even as I type this. I will be skipping the Puree portion of the program. Or at least, modifying a bit so I don't vomit.
  11. So, now that it is real, I am starting to get a bit nervous. Suddenly, "if I do this" has become "when I do this". Starting to feel like I should be counting down how many days I have left with my stomach. Like, as if I am going to miss him.

  15. Finally finished all the insurance requirements- 4 months dieting, 2 support group visits, pulmonologist clearance, cardio clearance, etc. Today, I finally got the call to come in and neet with the surgeon to schedule a surgery date. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Let us know how it goes!
  17. Back in the saddle again. Recently, New York state passed a Bill allowing Veterans to buy back their military time as credit...it was a battle fought since 2000 or so and finally the Governor signed it into law. Anyway, long story short, I bought back time and will be retiring in Sept 2017 instead of September 2020! So, I put the surgery on hold for a year so I can have it while retired and not have to worry about taking time off, answering questions and all that. I feel waiting until retirement will give me a greater chance at success because I will be home and not have to worry about eating Breakfast and lunch at work...Plus I can concentrate on eating right and working out without having to worry about getting up at 3am for the 4am train. I see my Bariatric Doc on St Paddy's Day. (Very fitting for this Irishman). All is still a go.
  18. Thanks for the heads up. If sleeping is going to be an issue for me, now I am even happier I waited to do the surgery after I retire. That way, if I have a terrible night's sleep, at least I dont have to go to work the next day. Also, can make appointments easier with the Endo not having to schedule around work. Made the right decision!Hope you get your levels right soon and can go back to seeing the Endo once every 6 months! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using the BariatricPal App
  19. Oh yeah..forgot about my stupid Graves' disease. Ugh. Guess after the surgery will be seeing my Endo alot! Good problem to have I imagine. How long after your surgery did you see your Endo? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using the BariatricPal App
  20. @@OzRoo Doing well thanks for asking! I have not had my op yet and have postponed it until July 2017. Why you ask? Well, I retire in June from my job at the age of 42. I will still have full medical and wont have to take any time off or worry about answering questions. I can just have the surgery and recover at home without having to worry about work. My surgeon is on board with that and as long as I see him once a month until the surgery, it wont be a problem. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using the BariatricPal App

    Post Op Day 4

I like that analogy. "Break up between me and food"...that is exactly what it feels like.I am gonna miss Pasta. I hope she finds someone new and is happy.
  25. Just saw my NUT yesterday and she said Seltzer has to go because of the carbonation causes gas and could be uncomfortable. Not sure if she neant forever or just after the surgery....and not sure why I did not ask what she meant while I was in her office..lol...oh well will ask her next appointment. But, I am hoping she is not right- gonna consult my surgeon as well.
