  1. Well thank you! And your son only has 10 more to go! I served in the Navy on the USS Bataan 1996-2000. The NYPD called as my service was ending so I swicthed over. Same 20 year retirement deal. Hope your son stays safe!
  2. Me too! Just happy it wasnt too much of a delay.
  3. Thanks for checking in on me! Much appreciated. And yes, I am lucky that I was only delayed by 14 days. I know it could have been alot worse. And conrats to you on your surgery date! Hope all goes well!! Please post when you get out of surgery!
  4. My surgery date was changed from 10/10 to 10/24. Still an October Sleever! I was supposed to have surgery October 10th, but hit an insurance snag. Problem was, I retired from my job and had to "change over" to the Retired side of the house and part of the normal computer processing is to cancel the insurance before the Retiree insurance kicks in - usually takes 2 weeks. Of course, luck of the Irish, my surgery was scheduled during that two week transition period. Ugh. Only me. On Oct 12, my new insurance kicked in and back dated to Oct 1. So I called my Surgeon's office and they said to send over the new insurance cards and the surgery will be re scheduled....so just a minor delay. The nice insurance lady at the Surgeon's office called me today {Oct 13) and the new date is Oct 24!!
  5. Yup! Still an October Sleever! Only delayed 14 days, no complaints here. I know it could have been ALOT worse, I have read some of the nightmares with insurance some forum members have gone through and are going through.
  6. Didn't have to call them, they called me! And my new surgery date is: 10/24! Whoo hoo!! Back on schedule!
  7. Here too. Did not stop exercising, but making bad choices with food. Thought it was just me.
  8. Have not heard from them yet. But then again it is 9:30am and they open at 9am. Lol..can ya tell I am a bit anxious?
  9. I believe this surgery is missing tool you need in your toolbox! Cheers to your decision to go through with it and begin a new chapter in life!
  10. Certainly hope so! However, for me personally, I just retired and joined the local adult swim club. I can easily chalk it up to all the swimming I have been doing PLUS being able to eat more healthy at home and not like crap at work.
  11. I am doing fine! So nice to be thought of!! I was supposed to have surgery October 10th, but hit an Insurance snag. Problem was, I retired from my job and had to "change over" to the Retired side of the house and it is a normal computer processing to cancel the insurance before the Retiree insurance kicks in - usually takes 2 weeks. Of course, luck of the Irish, my surgery was scheduled during that two week transition period. Ugh. Only me. But as of today, Oct 12, my new insurance kicked in and back dated to Oct 1. So I called my Surgeon's office and they said to send over the new insurance cards and the surgery will be re scheduled....so just a minor delay. The nice insurance lady at the Surgeon's office was confident that they could re schedule a new date by the end of the month. I should hear from them tomorrow! Thanks for thinking of me!!
  12. Good luck! Post an update as soon as you can!
  13. Happy to hear all went well (except one episode of blood-vomit) and that you are up and feeling better! Keep the updates coming!

    feeling bummed

That would be great. However, my BMI is over 40 and I had to play the reindeer games because of my insurance

It also depends on the individual insurance requirements. In my program, some people went to surgery within 8 weeks and some like me had to play reindeer games due to my insurance company's requirements.

Might be time to find a new Bariatric center?
  17. Doing just that! - following the liquid diet. Surgery is 6 days away. Thank you so much for the support!
  18. Good luck!! And please post here when you are out and able to!
  19. Hello fellow Navy Vet and fellow October Sleever! We can do this! E can win this battle. I too recieved 2 boxes from Bariatric Pal store today! Got some liquid diet stuff for when I get home from the hospital. Onto Battle shipmate!
  20. I finally retired from my job (at age 43!) and now can focus on my surgery and new relationship to food. Surgery date is still October 10th and sometimes I feel like I don't need the surgery and I can loose on my own. But then remember all the times that I have failed and it is time for a new weapon in the Battle of Weight Loss. I keep going over in my mind about all the food I will have to give up because of Sleeve, but these are foods would have to give up without the surgery anyway, so the end result is the same: have to eat right and the Sleeve is a powerful tool to accomplish that feat. Just bought a whole bunch of stuff from the Bariatric Pal online store for the liquid diet phase. I want it in the house for when I get home from the hospital. Getting real...

On a train to Crazy Town

I feel the exact same way and thank you for putting into words how I feel. That said, whenever I have 2nd thoughts, or the "am I gonna be happier a little thinner " the answer is yes because of this thread: https://www.bariatricpal.com/index.php?/topic/219760-Sex...-Oh-My-God...-Sex! Sex... Oh My God... Sex! So, my surgery is Oct 10 :-) P.s that thread is in The Guy's Room, so feel free to read..but refrain from posting. Enjoy!
  22. What a tool bag! Terrible manners. Him and his office behaved like they work behind the counter at an auto parts store and they didnt have your spark plugs in stock. I mean, give me a break. Perhaps you need to deal.with them in person at the counter?
  23. Oct 10th here too! Getting real...
  24. You are most welcome! Pretty cool video right? That Doc puts out good info.
