  1. Hello Seniors, I'm finishing my 6 month nutrition classes next month and hoping for a February surgery date. It's encouraging to read these posts from older sleevers. Hope my surgery goes as well as yours. Btw, I'm a 72 year old great grandmother. Happy 2016 to you all.

While I am " on the cusp" at 69, I had my surgery a week ago. Let me know how you are doing and any particular problems for us older folks. My goal is the be around a long time to torment my family.

  2. I am just too sad. I had my sleeve on sep 14 2015. I lost 45 lb. until I found out I have thyroid cancer. I just eat. Do not care about what I eat. Make me more angry when I can not stop eating. Cancer surgery is on April 13. Hate you cancer you got my father my mom my sister now it is my turn. I need your guys support

I am so sorry about your diagnosis but now is the time to turn your anger against the cancer. Write, curse, scream, throw things. I understand the eating because of feeling so angry and discouraged but turn it against the cancer not yourself.

  3. I am one week post op. I made a thinned down cream Soup and put some pepper in for taste. BAD IDEA. I think I need to settle for bland for a while.

Yeah, pepper might not be your best friend one week out. I'm impressed that you are allowed creamed Soups, but every program is different.

I would say to treat your new sleeve like a new born baby--gently and blandly until it heals a bit more.

    Take care of yourself. :)

    Hi cbuck1212

I am just about 3 weeks out. I started adding pepper to the soups at about a week and a half and it agrees with me just fine. Along this process you will learn that the most basic thing can turn you upset down and other times they will go just fine. So far the main thing I can't handle is fish. But I haven't tried a ton yet. You will learn what works for you and what you will have to come back and revisit it later.
