  2. As someone who has been overweight 15 of her almost 23 years of her life... I've tried everything. Slim 4 life: I lost 40 pounds, but eventually it all came back. Weight loss meds prescribed by doctor: held steady at a certain weight. Weight watchers, different sports, dieting, etc. nothing. I exercise consistently 3-4 days a week. I'm hoping this is what I need to have and maintain a healthy weight, and more importantly a healthy lifestyle. Like someone above said, the numbers for people who are able to lose weight and keep it off ON THEIR OWN is slim. For me this is a last resort. I've tried and had little success with everything else. At this point, I'm ready to move forward. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Everybodies preop diet is different. Different lengths, what they should be eating, how long, etc. For example: my liquid diet will be 3 weeks long, and be nothing but liquids. 3 Protein shakes daily. However, post op, I'll be moving on to purees on day 3. Some people are allowed to eat something, some are only on it for a few days, some a week. Every surgeon is different. 10. Nope I've never had a Facebook. I'm 22 and was trying to avoid all the bs that came with it. When it for popular lol. But I do have an ig. Contemplating making another one just for my journey though. I don't want too many people to know. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  17. Nope! I still have one more diet visit and a class. I'll be done on October 5th and it will be submitted that day. I have, however, attended support groups. I was worried about being my age and having the surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I was told in the beginning that it can take a couple days to actually have a date for surgery scheduled, and even then it will be scheduled for up to 5 weeks out. Why? Because my surgeon has specific days in which he is doing the surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I had my heart set on the sleeve because of some of the negative things I've read. I went to talk to my surgeon and he was very honest about everything. The bypass will help me get closer to my goal weight sooner. I'm almost done with the preop process and cannot wait to get to my surgery date! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
