    Just got home!

@@Mysticpink74 @@Steven1954 that varies depending on program actually. I move onto puréed foods (if my body is ready) at 3 days. By 7 weeks I'm eating pretty normal. 64 oz is consistent however. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Cold feet

As someone who has been overweight 15 of her almost 23 years of her life... I've tried everything. Slim 4 life: I lost 40 pounds, but eventually it all came back. Weight loss meds prescribed by doctor: held steady at a certain weight. Weight watchers, different sports, dieting, etc. nothing. I exercise consistently 3-4 days a week. I'm hoping this is what I need to have and maintain a healthy weight, and more importantly a healthy lifestyle. Like someone above said, the numbers for people who are able to lose weight and keep it off ON THEIR OWN is slim. For me this is a last resort. I've tried and had little success with everything else. At this point, I'm ready to move forward. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Everybodies preop diet is different. Different lengths, what they should be eating, how long, etc. For example: my liquid diet will be 3 weeks long, and be nothing but liquids. 3 Protein shakes daily. However, post op, I'll be moving on to purees on day 3. Some people are allowed to eat something, some are only on it for a few days, some a week. Every surgeon is different. Nope I've never had a Facebook. I'm 22 and was trying to avoid all the bs that came with it. When it for popular lol. But I do have an ig. Contemplating making another one just for my journey though. I don't want too many people to know. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    October surgery

Nope! I still have one more diet visit and a class. I'll be done on October 5th and it will be submitted that day. I have, however, attended support groups. I was worried about being my age and having the surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Frustration

I was told in the beginning that it can take a couple days to actually have a date for surgery scheduled, and even then it will be scheduled for up to 5 weeks out. Why? Because my surgeon has specific days in which he is doing the surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Why RNY?

I had my heart set on the sleeve because of some of the negative things I've read. I went to talk to my surgeon and he was very honest about everything. The bypass will help me get closer to my goal weight sooner. I'm almost done with the preop process and cannot wait to get to my surgery date! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. Has this happened to anyone? I still have 3 months (October) until I will be done with my supervised diet. However, when I had my last visit I had gained 3 pounds. My Nut made me scared and told me that if I keep gaining, they'd deny my surgery. That of course terrified me. My reason for getting this surgery is because no matter how hard I try, I cannot lose more than 10-15 pounds before gaining them all back. I have been like this my whole life. It's gotten to the point where even my PCP thinks this is the best route for me. I cannot afford to not be able to have this surgery. Now before someone tells me what to do to help lose... I've literally tried everything. -I've cut out all sodas. -no sugary foods -limited carb intake. -weight watchers -slim 4 life. -etc. Idk what to do. I'm scared. And just stressing over stuff I may not be able to control. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  25. Last diet visit: September 3rd. Class: October 5th. And then everything is being submitted. I have united healthcare, and have heard the process moves quickly. But knowing me I will be calling... A LOT! I also know that there's not a weight requirement (restriction?) so I should be okay with that. I started thinking about WLS a little over a year ago, but never followed through because my insurance didn't cover it. But to be at this point seems so surreal... I'm 22 years old and weigh 400 pounds. I've never said that to anybody but close family before. I am a single mommy to 2 year old twin girls, who are absolutely positively my "Why". I've always and I mean ALWAYS been the "bigger girl" and would honestly attach myself to anybody who actually showed interest in me. When I was younger being bigger phased me, but eventually I got used to it, and continued to gain confidence in myself. Regardless of my weight, I was/am a good person. But I'm finally going to gain control of my own life. I'm so so so excited. Bring on October, bring on this 3 week liquid diet! Bring it on. Because nothing... And I mean NOTHING will hold me back from my future any longer! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
