What does everyone do with there diabetic meds prior to surgery? I take glipizide and metformin . Starting my pre op diet soon. I plan to check my sugar regularly but I can't imagine it being high as I am on a liquid diet only for 2 weeks. My doc just gave instructions to stop it the day before. Congrats seems like you are on your way. This is just a confirmation of your benefits . There are many hoops to jump through. After completion of all of your requirements it will be submitted to your ins for approval. Don't over do the stocking up of shakes , your taste will change they are pricey . How long does it take the surgeon to submit the paperwork? I was told there are over 100 pages for them to submit. I check my ins every day , they r starting to know me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I also finished all of my requirements in June but was given a 8/31 date . I was not happy at first but am realizing now as time is quickly passing that I am learning a lot in the extra 1 1/2 months prior to surgery. Not to mention getting things in order so I can rest after. My husband will be 2 weeks after me. Take the extra time it will be here before you know it . My last apt with my surgeon was this past Tuesday . How long does it take for them to submit it to my ins? I called today and my ins doesn't have it yet. My surgeon already gave me a date of 8/31. Does the surgeon give you a date prior to getting approval. Or does he need that approval to give you a date. I am scheduled to have my sleeve sometime in August I am in so much pain every day (musculoskeletal)my doctor (PCP) said if I lost weight he thinks but will not guarantee guarantee that it will be better. All my tests were negative . HAs anybody had a tremendous amount of relief from musculoskeletal discomfort after their sleeve and weight loss?? please tell me a gets better.
