Thanks so much. Dr. Maida Parkins at Quintessa Medical Spa in Delafield Wi did my arms and I absolutely LOVE her.

I went to see her for a consultation on my arms, tummy and breasts. I will be having a breast lift with augmentation and an Abdominalplasty.

I loved her because she is very down to earth, honest and doesn't try to up sell procedures that you don't need. Also, (LOL) she totally got my husbands jokes about boob size and his very stupid questions.

He is all worried about the breast lift screwing up my nipples. LOL so he asked her if he needed to be worried about that as he as seen some surgeons make the nipples smaller and he likes mine the way they are. I was so embarrassed but in the end he actually asked a lot of great questions and she was both professional but had a great personality.

By the way, none of my plastics are covered. Which is a shame but it is reality. My Abdominalplasty and breast lift with augmentation will cost 17,500 with one night in the hospital. If I want another night it will cost another 500.00. Again, I think it is reasonable compared to what I see on realself.

By the way, I found Dr. Parkins on realself and had been interviewing plastic surgeons when I came across her name and her great reviews.

She took her time with my arms. I was scheduled for 3 hours total and she took nearly 6 and she did that because my left arm was giving her trouble. She took her time and let me tell you, they are awesome. I am thrilled I spent the money and I will for sure have her do the rest of my plastics.

I live in Madison and I am already planning on getting my arms done. I am only two months out so I have a bit of time before I will be ready. I will definitely look into your surgeon though. Thank you for the recommendation!

  2. I've seen a few references to self pay options in Las Vegas. Does anyone have any details on this? I have a family member that is interested but is feeling intimidated by going to Mexico.

I am scheduled for surgery June 29th at Blossom. So far my experience had been positive and the staff is great. Btw...all of his staff have had bariatric surgery so they really know what you are going through.

  3. I am self pay and just was quoted $23,000. The dr said to not even try to get the hernia repaired at the same time as my insurance sees that as a way to getting WLS paid for and will not pay for it.

I live in Wisconsin and it's the worst state to get insurance to mandatory pay and to also with one of the highest costs for WLS. I am now considering going to the Mexico Tijuana practice promoted on this site. For $5,000 +/- it's a great deal!

Am I ok to do this? I've researched them A LOT, but my gut still says it's not right to get surgery in another country.

Where were you would that amount? I am self pay in Wisconsin as well. I have a consultation with Froedtert in May. I am fearful of cost as well so I am starting to look at other options as a back up plan.

I was quoted that at Columbia St MAry's. I was quoted $35,000-38,000 at Froedert. It took forever for Froedert to call me back and had a long wait time to get into see the nut. and dr. and do all of the requirements. I knew I wanted it done fast as I was self pay, I shouldnt have to jump through the hoops. I got fed up and went to Tijuana for a quarter of the cost. Worth it!

    Good luck in your choice!

Thanks for your response! I have decided to use Blossom Bariatrics in Las Vegas. They have been great so far...looks like June 29 will be my date!
