Anyone feel like they are freezing on their liquid diet? Ever since I started the diet (I'm on day 6). I can't get warm. I don't know if it's the fluids being cold or if it's the lack of solids. Just wondering if I was the only one.

I started my liquid diet today and let me tell you I feel your pain. It wouldn't be so hard if my Protein drink wasn't so nasty. and cant change it because I had to buy it from my doc $200 smh
My shake is horrible also. I'm using Bariatric Advantage. I was using Pure Protein to replace one meal before my liquid diet started and it wasn't bad at all.

I attended a Bariatric orientation and my Doctor advised that two patients lost 2lbs. on the pre op diet, so he cancelled their surgery. I am soooooooo nervous going on this pre op diet(June 21st). I do not want my surgery to be cancelled.
Are you on a liquid diet? I am and have dropped 6 lbs in 3 days.

I'm there but have been trying to keep myself busy to avoid thinking about it. My husbands keeps saying that I should be happy but its hard to explain that I am happy, and nervous all at once. I am getting better though..my surgery is on Thursday. I think part of my problem is that I have some disappointment in myself. My body is NOT reacting to the pre-op diet as most everyone else's is. I even gained a few lbs a couple days ago, and lost them again....it is just being really stubborn. BUT I am reminding myself that this is why I am having this surgery
Good luck on your upcoming special day!!
You are so close!! Good luck with yours also!!

I'm one week pre op and I'm so nervous! I keep wondering how bad recovery might be and if I can really deal with the pain. I try to tell myself that I've birthed 3 children (2 naturally) and had 2 other abdominal surgeries. A friends' daughter is having her surgery today and I've told her not to tell me anything about it! Did anyone else feel this nervous? Wonder if you were doing the right thing?

I have 5 tattoos. My first one is a semicolon on my wrist. It symbolizes that I will go on no matter what my struggles were in the past. My second one was a mountain range on my other wrist. I love the mountains and my soul truly feels at home when I'm there. The 3rd is a broken arrow on my left ring finger. Though my path is broken, I continue forward. The 4th is a Number 3 in calligraphy on the ring finger of my left hand. It symbolizes my 3 children. And the 5th is the one pictured. It is a Viking stave that represents safe passage through rough seas/safe journey. I got this one just this past week.

Thank you all. My husband is military and was just told he would have to go out of town two days the week after my surgery. We have a 2 year old and a 14 year old (she will help.)

How long did you need assistance at home after surgery?

I am on Federal BCBS also. My advice is to call every other day and find out if it was approved. I found out 5 days after submission of my paperwork that I was approved. I called my clinic and my surgery was scheduled that day.

I'm 15 days pre op. Is there anything you wish you had done at home or bought prior to surgery that would have made your post op easier? Any advice would be appreciated.

Yea, I am a believer of being proactive! Don't wait on others if you can find out yourself!I got the letter from insurance before the clinic called me.
I generally am too but I've had a go around with my clinic. They've delayed submitting my claim because the person over mine changed jobs. Now people who started two weeks after me have dates. Every time I call the clinic it's something different!

How did you find out you had approval? Was it a call from your clinic or a letter from them? My claim was finally submitted last Friday (two weeks late.) My online account doesn't show anything being sent in yet. Starting to get worried that it really didn't get sent in.

I have BC/BS Federal. My paperwork can be sent off on May 2nd. I'm wondering how long I will have to wait for approval. Anyone out there have any experience with this plan?

Packing for hospital

My surgery is scheduled for Monday. My hospital/surgeon didn't give me a suggested packing list (I know some do.) What items were essential to your stay ? I know comfortable clothes and phone charger are biggies. Thanks!
