  1. Done! I missed it the first time. Just noticed you are in Queensland also Good luck with your project @@Ashley Frizell
  2. @@keyyzzVSG36 45 Ib in under 3 months is a great loss! And stalls will keep happening, they are a normal part of the weigh-loss journey. I am 6 months post op, and I lost 66 Ib, and I am very happy with this. My last stall lasted almost 4 weeks. I am lower BMI, and I am happy with my weight-loss. I don't have much loose skin, only in my upper arms. And I am 22 Ib away from my stretch goal. Be grateful for your weight-loss. You are losing at a good rate for you
  3. Yes, the stalls come and they go away in their own time .... I've had 4-5 stalls by now, and then I lost more weight, again I too was worried when the first one happened, and this thread and the "Embrace the Stall" thread really helped me. Inner Surfer Girl explains it so well. I am thankful for both threads.
  4. @@leebick So glad you had the sleeve done, as you wanted. Yes, I can only imagine how stressful this whole situation was for you. Glad you took your legal friend with you. Rest up well, get better, take your pain pills and have a good recovery. Thank you for the update! Best wishes to you.
  5. Stalls are a normal part of recovery and weight-loss. I have had 4 or 5 by now. I am 6 months post op. My last one was nearly 4 weeks long. Body does its own thing in its own time ...... I've learnt to be patient, and I don't weigh myself much during the stalls. Stalls will pass
  6. Woohoo! Lovely shoes Congrats!
  7. You won't know how your body will react until after you have your surgery. I was hungry for the 1st 2 weeks post op, when I was on liquid phase. Got better on purees, then much better on Soft/Mushy phase. I also had bad reflux, and had to get a stronger med, this was making me feel more hungry before I swapped to Nexium. The horror stories are a small percentage and I would not focus on them. Everyone's journey is individual. Why not read Success stories instead, and focus on them. Good luck and I hope you have smooth surgery and recovery!
  8. It is normal to be scared and afraid of this surgery. It is a major surgery and life changing one. I was in constant fear for a week pre-op. Then the day came, I was given a nice relaxing cocktail of drugs, fell asleep, then had my op, and I was fine. Just bit of pain. As gina mentioned, maybe you can get something for your nerves. Or have a massage, meditate etc Good luck!
  9. I have gone off: chocolate, beef and eggs, mainly due to bad reactions to them. I also have gone off Pasta, bread, rice, just don't need them. For few months post op I loved my brewed black tea, now I am back on green tea. I wish I could hate ice-cream ...... oh well, at least it is a monthly treat now Early post op I craved tomato and V8 juice, now I haven't touched them in months. I used to hate Stevia pre-op, now I love it, and stopped using Equal months ago.
  10. Yes, for me 2 things helped to finally not feel hungry: 1. a new PPI (Nexium) as my reflux was really bad 2. Going onto Soft/Mushy and then Solids phase. I also lost my appetite for few months ..... just wasn't hungry, but it is slowly coming back after 6 months. I am still measuring my portions. I can now guzzle Water too. And my reflux is gone, so I am off Nexium now.
  11. And you can use either imperial or metric system, I think it is in Settings.
  12. @@Heatgirl03 I use the Free version. There is a Premium version that is not free, but the Free version is great! My dietician wrote out the calories, and % of Protein, carbs and fats, tailored for me. I then entered these numbers into "My Goals", and this will give you the daily grams allowed. You find "My Goals" in the "My Home" section. You can also make your food diary public or private. It takes a while to set it up, mainly entering different foods, but once you have your regular food in the system, it is much easier. Then you only add any new food, and with any food change amounts, if you have less or more of it. Yes, it is a great tracker!
  13. Congratulations and welcome to the "other" side Glad it went well!
  14. @@ShelterDog64 I had issues with beef around the same time. Even though it was minced and with sauce, I ate it slowly and chewed well .... still dumped it straight away. I haven't touched it since. I was fine however with minced veal and minced lamb ..... Beef apparently is hard to digest, and many sleevers have issues with it.
  15. Tuesday here for me
  16. Gosh! Please let us know after you speak with your surgeon. I too hope it was only a computer entry mistake, but you have to know for sure. Good luck!
  17. @@Feekenstein Awesome! Glad all went well. Wishing you a smooth recovery
  18. LOL, I am the exact opposite ..... Been born and raised in Metric system 1 kg is 2.2 Ib, I can multiply by 2 no problems, but for the 0.2 I need a calculator. As for Fluid ounces I am totally lost, have to look up conversions .....
  19. Looking good! Congratulations
  20. I didn't stop melatonin pre op. It is not a blood thinner, just a natural supplement to help sleep. It is not a sleeping tablet. So, for me it was fine. Phentermine, I can understand that it needs to be stopped. Anti-inflammatories thin out the blood and can promote bleeding. Melatonin has none of these properties, but yes, definitely check with your surgeon. Good luck.
  21. @@AvaFern Well done and Congratulations !!! Wonderful news and achievement. Yes, when I eat sweets, my weight loss stalls, or even gain a little. It is amazing that sugar affects the weight so fast. Hence, mostly I stay away from it. Good on you for being a WLS success and maintaining your goal weight. And congrats on getting your life back
  22. @@kendra01 Here are more links for you: http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/402-australia-local-gastric-sleeve-support/ http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/368836-brisbane-sleevers-less-than-15-weeks-till-surgery/
  23. @@kendra01 I am, and I live on the Gold Coast. Had my op here with dr. Jordaan. We have few people from Brisbane on this forum. Type in "Brisbane" in Search, or go further down to sub-forums. Here is one: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/376717-brisbane-september-2016-sleevers/ And I think there is another one, perhaps under Australian sub-forum
