  1. I'm not your age but if people ask I just say I am on a doctor supervised diet. They can bite me if they dont like my answer.

    lol ;)

To the OP, if you live off campus you may be able to control your food a little better than if you live on campus. I don't know what school you go to, but some schools are flexible with the type of meal plans they require and have flex dollars and all that type of stuff. I'm a commuter student but I eat at home. The campus meal plans at my school are very inflexible and the food options aren't that great. If you need more assistance, let us know. We will be happy to help you. Good luck with everything.

  2. Monday January 3, 2011

I haven't been on the boards lately due to lack of willpower. Here I am. My Fiance and I have started the Induction phase of Atkins yesterday. I've got to get my weight off one way or another so here goes yesterday's menu:

Breakfast-EAS Advantage Carb Control strawberry Protein Shake

Snack-Atkins Advantage Caramel chocolate Peanut Nougat Bar

Lunch-2/3 cup of chicken salad made with 1 tbsp of light mayo on top of 1 1/2 cups of romanie lettuce and 10 sprays of Ranch Salad Spritzer dressing and 1 hardboiled egg and 6 thin slices of turkey lunch meat with 2 tbsp of light cream cheese

Snack-Atkins Advantage Caramel Chocolate Peanut Nougat Bar

Dinner- Boiled Egg and Lemon Pepper seasoned chicken breast

    Calories-1,114

    Carbs-15.7

    Protein-128g

    48 oz of water

Your menu sounds good. I need to get back into high Protein. I've been eating a moderate amount of protein lately.

  3. It really depends on the state. I live in NC and as of July 2010, they no longer cover this type of surgery. Make sure you check with your state. :)

It's a shame that some states are choosing to no longer cover this surgery under medicaid. North Carolina is such a beautiful state though. I love to visit.

  4. Around this time of the year, hsn and qvc run sales for exercise equipment. I've seen the lightweight powered treadmills , earlier this year, that are easily moved and store under the bed. They also do not require assembly. You just open the box and plug it in and you're off. They were reasonably priced as well.

  5. Thanks for the feedback Dave. But I should clarify that I didn't "plan" to cheat...ever! That is part of my frustration. I was so motivated before the surgery and honestly thought that I would be very strict and follow everything correctly. Today, being disappointed in myself, I wrote that I thought I'd make it 3-4 months before cheating. That was me saying "geez, I didn't even make it 2 months". That wasn't to say I thought that I would cheat before or even right after surgery. I honestly thought I was going to be some Lapband Superstar, but I obviously am not.....

Becoming a 'lapband superstar' doesn't happen in a few months. It's a journey and it takes time. We are all 'lapband superstars' because we took the first step into this journey. Don't beat yourself up. Brush your shoulders off and start again.
