On my plan, V8 or Isopure count as meals and I have to have those as 2 Oz portions. I’m allowed Water, crystal light (vitamin water etc) and unsweetened no caffeine teas. Good luck!!! I hope this help you.
  2. Thanks

Crystal light is a fairly typical recommendation and is generally benign, if one doesn't mind artificial sweeteners. V8, particularly the low sodium variety, is great if you need to do liquids and want to maintain some semblance of nutrition in the diet.
I'm not a fan of liquid diets for reset or back on track as they don't really get to the meat of the problem (so to speak) and often have a lot of artificial sweeteners that emulate the sugars and junk carbs that one is trying to eliminate. I find that basic meat and green veg does the job better as that provides most of what one needs nutritionally and satisfies hunger so that one can wean off the junk that has crept back in.

Hello. I’m a post-gastric sleeve from March 1, 2016. I was 325 at my highest and 189 at my lowest. Even had 7lbs I’d excess apron skin and fat cut off. I’ve gained about 40lbs back and am getting scared. It’s my Surgeons advice that I do a reset, a liquid diet for two weeks and follow the original post-op plan starting with puréed foods.

Doing the reset doesn’t bother me and I know it’ll force me out of some addictions I’ve developed... but I cannot stand drinking plain water! It’s been over two years now and I don’t remember if crystal light or V8 was allowed on the original plan or not... and can’t get a hold of the surgeons office or the nutritionist to ask either. Help???

2 weeks out there was no way I could have traveled. I was sleeved on March 1, 2016 and up until a few weeks ago at 9 months out, I was still puking my guts out. Nearly. Every. Day. When I would travel for a weekend I made sure to take things with me that were "friendly." Greek yogurt and Jello have been the two things that consistently stay down.
Best of luck to you on your birthday adventure, and do use your friends for support, whatever that might entail.

Find a good trusted Bariatric doctor and have a second opinion. All the symptoms you describe do not sound good. I did my surgery 2 weeks ago and already at work, no pain, no vomiting. Please do your research and go to somebody knowledgeable. .

Absolutely, took me about 2 weeks after surgery before I could sleep on my side because of the tugging sensation. I started using a thin pillow to support my belly, and it helped. Continued that until I had lost enough belly weight that I no longer had that tugging feeling anymore. Good luck!

I am two and half years post op and have been maintaining since about month 9. I agree with @MichiganChic. I could easily gain my weight back. I log all my food intake and I do have days/events where I choose to eat unhealthy (bring on those Christmas cookies). However, I watch my diet most days. I too have to eat very low calorie in order to lose any weight I may gain. I maintain on about 1000-1100 calories a day. To lose I have to keep it below 900.

You've gotten some very sound advice already. I'm 3 years post-op and at goal for 2 years (down 150 pounds).
Everyone is different, but I still need to log and monitor all food as well as weigh daily. When I gain or exceed daily calories, I cut back. Also, I work out 6 days/week.
The work will never end, but surgery has enabled me to achieve success. Beforehand, nothing worked.

Also, December 21st of this year I'm getting the skin removal and hope it includes thighs. But the apron and muffin top will be GONE. insurance approved it early cause of issues with rashing/blistering. (TMI)

I have lots of pics with Jensen/Dean as well as Misha/Cas. Just don't have digital copies to post yet.
The pic with chuck is the first one I ever seen the "new me" and I cried. I lost my composure in the photo-pickup area at the convention and cried. It didn't look like me. It didn't register that it was really me.

December 1st marks my 9 month post op for my sleeve and despite being sick for a good share of it (not holding much down still), I'm very pleased with the results! From a 22, to a solid 12... over 130lbs lost and MADE IT TO ONE-DERLAND!
(I'm a big fan of Supernatural so photos below are ops I've had done with the cast)
September 2015, my worst and no change from that when I went into surgery, July 2016 at my first 100lb lost, then October 2016... my most recent. Have lost maybe 7 or 8 lbs since it was taken.
