Mine was submitted on June 23 and approved on June 24, the very next day. But, I didn't find out until today when I called the insurance myself because they hadn't sent the notification to the surgeon yet. But, I think 7-10 days is average from the other posts I have read.

Ha! "Almost passed out" ....that will be how I will feel when reality hits!!

  2. I lost 14 lbs my first 3 visits & then I maintained my weight only dropping 1lbs my 5th visit....my PCP Sd "your weight has been remarkably stable"....I'm assuming there was a hint of sarcasm??? I told him I tried best I cld (was on road the last month) to count calories...but was wondering if this was a bad thing only losing 15lbs in 6mo? I was told I only need to lose 18lbs for surgery on my 1st visit... My last visit is nxt Friday & I was debating on doing liquid diet just to shed off those last 3lbs....any suggestions? Or comments?

  3. I am on day 4 and I'm feeling a lot better today than the first three days! I am at the doctors now waiting for my pre-op physical. May 2 is my surgery date, so I have two full weeks of this diet. Protein shake and cream of wheat for Breakfast, Protein Shake, 1 cup Soup, pudding for lunch, Protein Shake, 1 cup Soup, Jello for dinner and yogurt for bedtime snack. Overall not so bad!

So do you have cravings for junk food or does the sound of it make you nauseous? Are you only doing shakes/liquid or are you on mushy/solid food now?

  5. I didn't use the painkillers much in the hospital, or at all when I went home. Pain was a function of what I was doing. Lying on my back, relaxed, I was reasonably comfortable right from the start. But getting in and out of bed sucked for the first two weeks During the third week, getting in and out of bed became more routine, and I began to be able to lie on my side without too much difficulty in bed.

I am now 4 weeks out, and I still don't feel "normal" (no discomfort at any time), but feeling pretty good. I started walking outside for exercise the second week, and just had my first visit to the gym yesterday. I hope to feel normal by 6 weeks.

    Lmk!! ????
