Sorry to hear that! What happened? At a secondary office which gathers all the pre-testing paperwork and results, someone forgot to review the notes to my sleep study, and because of (those results) the surgeon requires 4 weeks on a CPAP machine, which I am NOT happy about. But, we're going to do 2 week with the machine, and then 2 weeks with the machine, during the pre-op diet, so 4 week simultaneously. But first I need to have a CPAP fitted. Hopefully the sleep center calls me Monday to set that up. Not pleased someone dropped the ball, but surgeon is firm on the requirement. Really sorry that happened to you! But you'll get there. The hoops we have to jump through in order to have this surgery is unbelievable! Hang in there!

I broke my caffeine habit by first eliminating my diet cokes...(I use to have 2 a day).....after a week of that then I mixed half decaf and regular coffee and had that for a week....the next week it was all decaf.....and so when my pre-op diet started I only drank decaf. During this process I only had a couple of days with a headache and since then it's been a breeze!

I"m in Florida too, but I'm in North Florida right outside of Jacksonville. My surgery is Monday in Jacksonville at St Vincent's hosp in Riverside. Dr. Uchal is my surgeon.

Try to relax............I'm just like you. I can lose weight and have even lost a significant amount when I set my mind to it...I lost 60lbs and in less than 8 months it was all back plus another 30......I've joked before, saying I should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for how much and how fast I can gain weight!!! Portion control is my main problem and the sleeve will help me address that!! My surgery is Monday and I can'n't hardly wait to get started with this new part of my life! Good luck to you. The waiting is the worst part of this process!!!

OMGosh today is the last day of my pre-op diet! Tomorrow is Clear liquids all day and nothing after midnight.....I have to be at the hospital at 8:30 am and I'm on the schedule for 11:30......It's getting very very REAL!!!! I'm nervous but still it's more of an excited feeling. I think I can honestly say that I'm not afraid.......well as long as I don't think too hard or focus on complications...........The main thing I"m worried about is nausea......I hate throwing up!!! I'm going out to stock up on a couple of things a little later today.....When I come home from the hospital I can have yogurt, and pudding and cream Soups so I wan't to make sure I have some on hand....and I'd rather not have to be in a grocery store tomorrow while I'm on a liquid only diet!.....I think I'll also pick up an adult coloring book, and maybe a robe.....what's all my other 16th buddies up to today?

it will be a breeze!!! it's amazing how when the drug is given you're out like a light.....and then when you wake up you are fully away not even sleepy...........it really felt like I had only blinked my eyes.

I'm also a member of a secret Facebook group for folks who have surgery dates in May and June. If either of you have surgery dates then send me your email address and I will send you an invite to join the group. It's a completely secret group and only members can see what's posted ............in fact non members can't even find the group with a search. The last I looked it was close to 200 members and a great bunch of folks....so if you have a surgery date in May or June send me your email address.

@@tresmith69 No problem at all. I know exactly how hard it is to wait!!! I had inside connections and the wait still caused me to go nuts!!! I added you as a friend............surgery is on Monday and I'm a nervous wreck!!! My surgeon prescribed Valium for me to take at bed time these last few days before surgery to help me sleep and the one I took about 20 minutes ago is messing with me bad now.............so I'm headed off to bed tonight. @@Maggie Journey I'm only taking the week off......but I work from home so if I need to work from my recliner I can do that....I think one week will be enough for me.....I actually am thinking if things go really good I may even try to sign-in as early as Thursday....but I schedule the whole week off just in case. I too am glad for the weekend to prepare.....I want to pick up a few things so when I come home I'll have everything I need......and I think I'll go to Kohls tomorrow and buy a robe so I can look presentable walking the halls....I hate those hospital gowns.

I'm having my surgery on Monday so I'll be out of commission a couple of days.....but if you don't hear anything by Wednesday send me a message and I'll make a call to a couple of folks I know to try to find our what's going on for you..

I live in Panama City Beach. I work for the State of FL. Just hoping this won't take long. I started this journey in November 2015. We are covered under my husband's plan through the State of Florida employees.....He's a corrections officer at a prison. The good news with being on the State insurance contrat is that Florida Blue doesn't out-source our Medical Auths....they review them in house rather than sending them off-shore like all the rest. I feel sure you'll hear something next week but give them a call. They were very helpful each time I called.

When they were working on my auth a couple of weeks ago someone I know that's still there told me they currently had a 6 day back log on auths....What part of Floirida are you in? I'm just outside Jacksonville in Middleburg.

It never hurts to call the insurance company. Just call customer service and let them know you want to check the status of your authorization. I called everyday when I was waiting...lol

Only two more days!!! I can't remember being this excited about anything in a very long time!!!

I have BCBS of Florida and it took 3 business days.

This is pretty much a requirement for this surgery.......with a few exceptions

@@harlem_femme You'll do fine!!! My surgery is Monday as well. I have to be at the hospital at 8:30 and surgery is scheduled for 11:30. I would gladly switch with you! I am a morning person and would rather have less time to think about it...hahaha I don't think they'll let me switch with you because I'm in Floirda.....We'll both do great! Wow! it's Friday already!.........can you all believe we're just a weekend away ??? I can't wait! I still have more excitement than nerves, I hope it stays this way!!!

@@arredondok also if you have a frozen pop mold, the Quest cookies and cream make wonderful frozen treat!!!

I'm using unjury and also Quest. To me the Quest are the best tasting. I love the Cookies and cream!
