  1. I'm 13 months post op, and just found out that I am pregnant with my 2nd child, my daughter is 3, and so its been a while a little while since I went through this. But my first pregnancy I gained like 60 lbs. Alot of it was due to me stopping work when I was 4 months. And my husband was so scared of me doing anything so I pretty much ate and sat about near the rest of my pregnancy term. I know what I have to do this time as far as being more active. I'm just scared of getting a bunch of weight again and the surgery going to waste. Can anyone who has been through this similar situation as far as pregnancy this early post operation, giving me any pointers on gaining the minimal amount of weight with still being healthy. I cannot get that big again. Side note: I also have only lost 60 lbs since surgery (I know, not that much huh??)...(68 lbs including preop diet) Sent from my VS995 using BariatricPal mobile app

    So weak and tired

I'm waiting on my lab results but this is me to the T, I will be 5 months post op on August 7, and I'm still fatigued. At one point I felt like I was doing good, but it's like I reverted back to having no energy whatsoever, after a while. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    Birth control after gastric bypass...

Hey @@alishams86, I too have the nexplanon implant (this year in November will be my 3 year mark), but I was wondering if you have been noticing significant weight loss with it? I'm losing weight but not as fast as I thought being a bypass patient (and compared to others). I also felt like the implant had alot to do with my weight gain prior to surgery and after having my first child, but I have kept it because I like it's convenience and I just said I would work at trying to eat better and being more active. With that being said, have you noticed any weight changes or are you losing weight at a slower pace, or is it just me? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  4. Hey I know this is an old post, but chose balanced essentials based on the help of the consultant at vitamin world along with your post...but i was wondering do you take the recommended dose of balanced essentials or double due to the amounts we bariatric patients need? 5. I'm feeling down and depressed. Mainly due due to the changes and because I'm seeing other bypass' and even sleever's progress, and seeing how they have lost 30, 40 lbs 2 months post op. And I'm over her at just 23 lbs down (since day of surgery) at two months post op, and it seems I have hit a stall on top of that. What is wrong with me? What do I need to incorporate more that I'm not doing. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  6. Thanks @@gina171 I guess I don't feel as bad. Six weeks was a long time to have waited for results. I would've panicked. I'm 26 and have roughly around 120 to lose (since being my heaviest at 257 and 248 starting weight), which idk if that considered not much weight to lose, but maybe that could be why my weight loss is going at a slower rate. ??? 7. I need to track better, it just gets to be tedious. I will admit I was tracking using my baritastic app everyday at first but now I am just kind of eyeing it (my Proteins and fluids) for the most part, but I guess taking better measurements would be a big help. I guess I stopped after some of the foods I was eating weren't able to be found in the app. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  8. So I am 54 days post op, and I have been having these sharp pains on and off all day. I'm thinking it's related to the late night parfair I grabbed on the way back from a 3 hour trip from my in-laws over memorial day weekend. It was late and I had a dumping (vomiting) episode earlier on Monday from (trying out) 2 bites of steak and it not digesting well, and eating other food on top of the non digested steak bits. So since this morning with the sharp pains I kept running to the bathroom thinking I had to BM (sorry to be gross), so I went once, then a few hours later went again, with diarrhea (sorry again), and it was a little bloody. Now I'm like did I ef up something, or is this not unusual? I believe it might be parfait related, bc since then my stomach began cramping up. I didn't eat but a few bites of it due to the cramps and just to have something on my stomach from vomiting all of my food up earlier. Am I going to be ok, or am I being a hypochondriac. I'm still cramping btw and it's been almost 24 hours since the parfait. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    Cramping

It does start suddenly pretty spread apart. But it's not quite under my ribcage, it's a little lower. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  10. I experienced the same thing, I took my Bariatric Advantage Vitamins the next day from coming home, which was like 2 in half days post op and I also dumped (without throwing up)really bad. After that I just held off taking my vitamins for a couple of weeks. I guess my body wasn't ready to take in the sugar, and I figured it was like eating too soon even tho they are rather small in comparison to a meal. I talked to my surgeon about it and he said he wouldn't expect me to take them so soon. I wished he would've told me that at the hospital. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    Water in-take

Hey everyone, so I'm pretty much new to bariatricpal, (im 25 btw) and also 3 days post-op. I was wondering about this Water thing. When it comes to drinking water it's making my stomach feel instantly full (I'm guessing is the best description) with every swallow, this doesn't happen with Protein shakes or broth, just only with water. This might be a silly question, but why is that? And do/did this happen to anyone else? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  12. So question...My 26th birthday is tomorrow and I am 2 days away from being one month post op. I am also going on a cruise for me and my husbands birthdays together and I was wondering if I could drink (alcohol) in any sort of form at all?? Or is this out? Birthday drinks?

    Thank you!

    Birthday drinks?

So my doctor, we'll doctor's nurse, lectured me and told me that I was made aware of this during thr pre-op course. So I cannot drink, until a year out just as @@applejenn dr said. She also tried to convince me even more that it might not taste the same then, basically saying I may not want it. So no bday drinks for me ????. Lol Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

Really? That kinda what I was thinking. But I kinda was just wanting to know someone's experience if they ever had a little wine or anything this early. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  16. I am 13 days post op the bypass and it honestly has seemed like I've had cramping everytime I consume something since I came home. Is this normal, this is with Protein shakes, and Soups and Water. It doesn't happen with Popsicles but with everything else. What could this be or is this normal? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  17. So what did you do to get through it? Or did you just let it ride out? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  18. Yea I considered that being that I am lactose intolerant to milk, but like I said it's even with Water alot of times. Do I just let it ride out or maybe get some lactose intolerant supplement? Or are there any ready made Protein shakes made with soy? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    Ten days post op...help!

Oh wow didn't know they had that much sugar. I never looked into them I just seen them on the shelve at walmart. I think I will try the protein water if I can find that at walmart today. Thanks Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    Ten days post op...help!

Ugh I feel the same way! The premiere Protein shakes are gross to me now. Like I had my last one day before yesterday the taste of it just got really eggy/milky like. I hate it too because I bought a bunch...what other Protein Shakes can i try. I was thinking pure protein or Kellogg shakes even tho I would have to drink more to get in the right amount of protein. Idk. I just don't want another Premier Protein. It was good for the preop and a little bit of post of but now I need something else. Sorry to seem like I'm complaining, I am just a little frustrated because I want food. Lol Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

I'm sorry to hear about those unfortunately experiences. I guess mine is minute compared to yours. Water also makes me feel weird like it makes extra air in my stomach. Nothing else does it but water what advise has your doctor given you to cope with this? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

    protein

So I am 6 days post op and have mainly just been drinking regular premiere protein shakes here and then when I can consume them. But today I decided to put a handful of frozen fruit (bananas, strawberries, pineapples) in my magic bullet along with 4 cubes of ice and the premier protein shake (already made). I'm about nearly done with, all of it made about a 16 oz cup. So my question is should I be able to consume all of this 6 days post in one sitting (30 minutes)? Also was it ok that I decided to add fruit this early on in a 2 week liquid diet? I also forgot to mention that I had over a 1/4 left in the magic bullet that I didn't drink and I'm full. RNY vs. VSG... Feeling RNY pushed to VSG

I was one who chose adversely to the sleeve which my surgeon recommended at our initial consultation. He did so due to my age as well and based off of him not knowing a few details about me. But I did research and also have a mother who had the bypass over 15 years ago and was and has still been successful with it. I chose it bc I love sweets and feel the need to have them often. I also didn't really eat alot before I just ate the wrong things bc that's kinda how I was brought up, eating more of the yummy ribs, baked mac'n'cheese, cubed steak and things rather than healthy. The RNY has one of the best features for that which is the dumping syndrome. So I have not choice now but to ear right or I will get extremely sick. I believe the sleeve can have that effect too but no other like the RNY. I forgot to mention after my surgeon suggested the sleeve, I had blood work done and they determined I was .5 away from being diabetic (my A1C was 6.0) and only the RNY cures diabetes.
