  1. Hello all!

I am going to my first informational meeting for weight loss surgery, and have been doing some early research on my own. I was wondering, what made you all choose the RNY surgery for yourselves, as opposed to the gastric sleeve? I'm just considering the pros and cons of both, so any input you all have regarding your own decisions would be very helpful.....

    Thanks!

  2. I'm almost 4 weeks post. I'm starting to not feel like myself. I was doing good til a couple days ago. My stomach is not feeling it best. Doesn't like my Protein shakes, Premier Protein, I can't keep anything down. I can only take in 2-3 small bites of anything. That 4th bite, and I'll be hugging the toilet. I feel bad to the point of not being able to walk or exercise. Water is starting to have a nasty taste. I've tried the MIO enhancers and I can't do it. Don't know what else to do. Please advice Please

  3. I had that same problem when I came home feeling like Nothing had been done to my stomach. I could drink and eat everything, but that changed a week later. Now I'm 4months out and some times my stomach wont keep nothing down. By the time I take 2-3 small fork bites, Im full. If I take that 4th bite, I will be hugging the toilet. Me and my toilet have become the best of friends over the last few weeks. UUUGGG. It feels like something is sitting in my chest until it finally comes up. I hate that feeling, NASTY. I have to keep going

  4. When I came home I felt like my stomach was the same size it was before surgery. I could drink more fluids. After a few days, I couldn't eat or drink a lot. It went down to a few sips. Now it feel like everything get stuck in my chest. I can get in less than half of my Protein shake. When I fix grits, I'm only suppose to have a quarter cup. I can get in less than that. 2-3 small fork or spoon size and I'm done. If I take that 4th bite, I will be hugging the toilet. Lately the toilet and I have a close personal relationship lol

  5. I would think that all the stuff that's required for the surgery, we would be doing the same tests. Yes there are those that might need more, the same base tests should be required from the insurance companies. I don't understand why certain insurance companies deny people surgery even if they've done everything that was required. I hope I have put my words together for you to understand.

  6. Having to have the 6 month nutrition class really helped me to understand the whole process. It is truly alot of information. After your procedure, It will all kick in and plus you will have all the info to go back and read over. My book stays open

  7. After surgery, I found that softer foods such as chili and Soups went down much easier than harder foods such as steak and chicken. So I primarily relied on these. I made my own chili and soups and fortified them with extra Protein. I have included some of the recipes at the end of the following article. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery.pdf

I wish I could eat something. I don't like eggs, chicken or those premier shakes especially the vanilla.

  8. Ok, so I am about 7 weeks post gastric bypass. When I eat I have maybe 3-4 bites and feel kinda full, well I take some time and then I can eat more. Is it normal to feel full after only a few bites then wait and eat more? If I stop at 3 bites I'm hungry in no time. Anybody else like this?
