  1. I had a fill last Thursday 3/23/12, as required I drank water before leaving the office, and was fine. Later that night I ate broth, and drank fruit juice and was fine. The next morning I began vomiting everything, water, juice, and soup, not stop, Today I called my doctor's office, and told them what was going on, and the gave me an appointment for 3/30/12. The problem with this is that I have lost 14 pounds since Thursday, I can't hold anything down, I have headaches, i feel feverish, and I'm dizzy. To put it bluntly if I don't get water down like yesterday, I dont' feel like imma make it til Friday. Does anyone know any tricks, I tried drinking tea as hot as possible, didn't work. The hopsitals will not touch a band, I guess because that is not their area of expertise. I tried a heating pad, drinking a diet soda. I'm getting scared and desperate.
  2. The fills at my office would be $300. I just switched toBCBS of NJ. I just assumed that the fills were covered. Guess I will find out soon
  3. I'm in 20 punds by Valentine's Day
  4. Breakfast proteint shake with various fruits, and coffee midmorning. Lunches: It's ususally grilled, or baked fish, or some veg dish with tofu. I eat rice, and mashed potatoes. I personally cannot tolerate chicken, and I do not eat prok and beef. Dinners: I keep dinners light as I am very sedimentary after work. Salads, sardines, protein shakes
  5. Trust me!! Keep it at the .5 increments. If you need to go back every 4 weeks than you should go back, but it is not a good feeling to be overfilled
  6. lol. too funny. I have to find a name for mine's. It has to be something that fits a tempermental female.
  7. Everything except the vomiting sounds normal in my opinon. I would also suggest you check with the doctor. Since they do not place any fluid in the band after the surgery, I think you should just be feeling gas discomfort, and some pain as the band settles.
  8. How does it feel is it painful. I had most of my fluid removed in July because I got a small fill, a month before, and nothing was staying down, incl water. I just got a small one put back in on Friday, and it's the same thing, Most of the time I cannot hold water. I am wondering if this comes from a port being flipped.
  9. I agree with Melinco, I have found that all the frozen meal brands have a high sodium content, and I am also prone to retain water once I eat them.
  10. Tofu is really not bad, and it is very high in protein. Salmon, tuna, and sardines are some of the higher grams of protein also. I wouldn't eat a whole lot of tuna though because of the Mercury.
  11. I haven't noticed if the weather has an effect, but like the other poster stated the band i very fickle. I can drink coffee every day for 2 weeks, and then all of a sudden throw it up for no reason. For the most part you will get to know your band, and what times of the day you are most restricted, but there are times, where things you have eaten 100 times before will one day not agree with you. At least this has been my experience. But you know your body, and if you feel something is wrong, it's a good idea to talk to your Dr.
  12. I'm no expert, but I think that certain foods can slip righ through the band. My dodctor stressed to me to make sure I get the protein rich foods such as chicken in first because it takes longer to digest. When I do eat chicken which I really don't like to do. I can eat around 3/4 of a cup, and usually I am not able to eat anything else with it, and I'm full for hours. Now when I eat fish if I wanted to i could actually get 3 times the amount of fish down, and I could eat dinner or a snack later on. Now this is my experience, I don't know if this makes since for you but I think it depends on the food. For me I found that it's better for me to eat a small amount of chicken, and what few vegetables I can tolerate, and remain full the rest of the day.
  13. I don't know what to believe about soda. Many doctors say different things. I had stopped drinking soda for a while, and recently started drinking semi-flat diet soda, I wish there was more concrete proof, about it's effects on the band.
  14. This has nothing to do with the thread, but I like your signature about tatto's. so so true.
  15. That's really fast. Good for you!
  16. I'm glad to see this thread. I too heard that in addition to slower weight loss with the band, I would also not have a great deal of loss. I hope to make it to 100 someday. I have 43 pounds to reach that goal. But I am happy for you guys! Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Because I like having hair and teeth.
  18. I douche with vinegar and water(in the box) about once a month, usually after my cycle. Knock on wood but I have never had a yeast infection, but i do include a lot of yogurt in my diets, mainly because I don't like to cook breakfast. I have been douching for over 10 years now, and maybe if something happens to me I will stop, but it such a clean feeling to douche after a cycle, or heavy sexual activity.
  19. I've tried the back door entry, it's just not for me. I found it to be very painful. Besides that I have my own reasons why I think that area should be off limits, but I do have friends who enjoy it.
  20. Wish you were in NJ, I'd be there
  21. Has anyone's doctor told them why the port flips? Mine's had moved down some, and he told me that happens. I'm just curious if it's something that maybe we are doing that is causing it to flip, or moved.
  22. I love my waist!!! Before starting to exercise, my waistline just showed out of nowhere. It makes me feel I have an hourglass figure.
  23. Does anyone know if there is any truth to the rumor that your insurance may cover some of the expenses for certain areas where there is excessive fat, because the extra skin is considered a health risk. I'm not at goal yet, I lost 70 pounds, and my goal is 12 more pounds, however, Depsite going to the gym, I do not believe the fat that is hanging off my arms and inner thighs are going to dissappear through working out. Has anyone attempted to go through their insurance.
  24. I can't wait to get into a pair of stilleto's with a strap around the ankle, with my fat feet looking like Shaquill O Neal's foot.
